Ken Krauss(I)
- Writer
Ken Krauss is an award nominated WGA screenwriter and failed baseball player. When he realized he couldn't hit a 95 mph fastball Ken ended a brief baseball career and turned to his other passion - writing. At least in Hollywood the writer felt he wouldn't be subjected to boos if he struck out though Ken admitted he's have heard some pretty loud cursing from producers.
The author began by writing standup for several comedians, developed a TV pilot for the Groundlings, and then took a shot at writing screenplays. His big break came, when using his baseball background, he joined the ICM softball team. Jeremy Zimmer, a great agent and no so great hitter, sold the writer's first screenplay and Ken knew he had made the right career decision.
Since then he's had the good fortune to work with many of the major studios and some interesting indie companies and collaborate with such iconic figures as Peter Guber and Ron Howard. Ken writes both comedy and drama - the key is always finding a good story. His movie, Tom, Dick & Harriet, a romantic comedy, received several award nominations as well as a big thumbs up from the New York Times. The film was nominated for a Nymphe d'Or for Best Picture, the top prize at the prestigious Monte Carlo Film Festival. The movie was also nominated for a Leo, a top Canadian award, for Best Picture.
