- Vincenzo La Scola was born on January 26, 1958 in Palermo, Sicily, Italy. He was an actor, known for Les contes d'Hoffmann (2004), Simon Boccanegra (2002) and I due Foscari (2001). He died on April 15, 2011 in Mersin, Mediterranean, Turkey.

- I set up a sort 'audition' for my family to show them what I could do. My father would not listen and stood out on our balcony. But soon he comes in and is crying, saying 'My son can sing.'
