The identity of the man at the bottom of the loch is finally unearthed and he proves to have a significant connection to one of Lochnafoy’s families. Mhari Toner is desperate for Annie to reveal anything that would exonerate Dessie and Craig Petrie finally hits some consequences for his actions. Meanwhile, Quigley and Albrighton clash on their theories around the murderer. Quigley doesn’t want to look any further than Dessie, but Albrighton remains convinced that the teenager had help.
Ok, so that the answer would come out of the leftfield wasn’t an entirely inaccurate prediction on my part. Though I must admit, The Loch went one twist further than I thought it was going to. The inclusion of...

Flim The Movie is a very clever, very funny mockumentary. It was a surprise hit at Raindance Film Festival 2014 and despite a low budget and miniscule marketing spend found itself nominated for a British Independent Film Award alongside big hitters like Calvary and The Imitation Game. The story centres around a hapless, wannabe Bollywood director called Ravi (played by Raffaello Degruttola). He claims to have made at least one short film back in India and has come to the UK to make his first feature film. Capturing this is the Nick Broomfield-cum-Louis Theroux documentarian Scott (played by Steven Waddington).
As well as star in it, Degruttola produced and directed it.

ITV's Wire in the Blood is the latest UK drama to be eyed for a Us TV remake.
ABC - also working on a Silk remake - is planning to adapt the Robson Green series, Deadline reports.
The original Wire in the Blood ran for six series between 2002 and 2008 and was based on characters created by Scottish crime writer Val McDermid.
Green starred as troubled psychologist Dr Tony Hill, with Hermione Norris playing his partner Dci Carol Jordan for the first three series. Simone Lahbib later replaced Norris as a new character, Di Alex Fielding.
The new Us version will be written by Am Holmes - crime novelist and formerly producer of Showtime's The L Word

Yes, Downton Abbey! The best show on television is marching toward its third season and we have some promo images to keep people going until it arrives! A bit of everything here, though Lord Grantham, Lady Cora, and my girl Sybil are absent, including another look at perhaps the biggest name coming to Downton next season, Shirley MacLaine. You see her, playing Cora’s mother, paired with the glorious Maggie Smith’s Dowager Countess, adding to the two video teasers we got of the two of them trading barbs from last week. Speaking of pairings, we also have a close shot of Matthew and Mary, Bates serving his prison time, Carlson keeping it classy, cooks deux, O’Brien giving a patent ugly look, and Edith (who always forces me to be against her for hating on Mary) with man!
Still more to come and see next season, including the introductions...

Downton Abbey is my favorite current show on television (along with Archer, which hits two opposite ends of the spectrum) so I can’t wait for season 3 to get here, having watched and rewatched several times the first two seasons – it’s on constant loop on Amazon Instant for me. That puts me on the hunt for anything Downton related popping up, including these couple of short teasers, one from PBS, both featuring a high profile newcomer to Downton Abbey, Shirley MacLaine. As you probably already know, MacLaine has been cast as Martha Levinson, Lady Cora’s mother.
This season 3 promos offer up a glimpse of what looks to be quite the titanic pairing, with MacLaine entering the dominion of Dowager Countess, played by Maggie Smith, who should win the Emmy or my head will explode (unless Joanne Froggatt, also nominated, wins – Downton also has 2 actors nominated on the male side as well.

Lord Grantham keeps it eclectic in the Abbey and the latest additions to the servant staff at Downton Abbey stays true to that theme. While most of the talk between Downton seasons involving new characters for season 3 has revolved around Shirley MacLaine’s entry as the american step mom, we now have to more new face to announce in MyAnna Buring and Simone Lahbib.
Both Buring and Lahbib are set to start their service during the holiday, making their debuts during a Downton Abbey Christmas special. MyAnna, who is fine as hell, plays a vampire of the Denali Coven in Twilight Breaking Dawn and one of the stars of the great horror film The Descent, will assume the role of Edna, who is described as “forward thinking”. Lahbib, whom English viewers will recognize from Wire in the Blood and Bad Girls, takes on the role of Lady’s maid Wilkins.

Thanks to popular British film and television, there is a perception outside Britain that roaming amidst our green fields and cobbled streets are delicate, silver-spooned beauties and post-Henry Eliza Doolittles. While we are on record as being rather fond of the corset — for two reasons — in reality, there is a much more diverse bunch of British ladies turning heads. And a high proportion of them are swigging pints, not tea.
So we are dedicating this column to the introduction and celebration of some of today's most desirable ladies in dear old Blighty. And because we are gripped by UK election fever, we decided to be democratic about it and sent a Twat out a few days ago asking you to nominate the UK ladies you wish were of a lesbian persuasion.
It would be far too challenging a task to look at this with any deep meaning — we'd have to flick through historical archives,...

In our first annual Top 50 Lesbian and Bi Characters poll, we asked you to vote for your favorite characters from film, television, and internet shows.
You cast your votes, and now we have the results. Before we reveal the winners, let's take a look at some of the trends that emerged.
Almost all of the characters were from films and television shows that made their debut after the year 2000. A few of the exceptions include Kerry Weaver from ER, and the ass-kicking ladies from Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
While most of the characters were from Us productions, a fair amount came from international shows, including our top two characters (from the UK show Skins).
Also notable was the fact that some of your favorite characters, the leads from Xena: Warrior Princess (which ran from 1995-2001) and Idgie Threadgood from the film Fried Green Tomatoes (1991), were never officially presented as lesbian or bisexual.

I'm not one to draw lines in the sand about good art and bad art. I'm not comfortable saying this thing is better than that thing; or that so-and-so are a better couple than such-and-such — except for this: The first three series' of the UK prison drama Bad Girls is the best lesbian story ever on TV, and Helen Stewart (Simone Lahbib) and Nikki Wade (Mandana Jones) are the all-time, number one, super dooper, mega best lesbian couple in the history of time and space forever and ever, amen.
It's been 10 years since the show first aired in Britain, and Helen James recently sat down with Simone Lahbib to talk about the impact of Helen and Nikki's relationship (and a possible reunion!) a decade after its humble beginnings.
We'll get to that part in a second, but first let's quickly flip through our Larkhall scrapbook to remember what makes Helen...

Chicago – Any good reader of HollywoodChicago.com knows that we have a soft spot for modern British television. “Torchwood,” “Doctor Who,” “Primeval,” “Robin Hood,” “Ashes to Ashes,” and many more shows range from good to great. One of the best series of the ’00s is the excellent “Life on Mars,” soon-to-be available in a series 1 DVD box set and accompanied on store shelves this month by the sixth volume of the thrilling “Wire in the Blood”.
DVD Rating: 5.0/5.0 The spectacular “Life on Mars” was adapted into an ill-fated ABC remake last fall and I worry that American audiences will ignore the original because they see the remake as a failure (which is itself debatable). Whether or not you liked or disliked the Yank version, please check out the BBC original, a great twist on the standard police procedural.
Life on Mars will be released on DVD on July 28th, 2009.

The world is fascinated by murder. It’s not just America, but rather the whole world. All of these crime series only prove that not only are people fascinated by creating these shows, but they sell. The audience loves it. It’s similar to how we rubberneck. We’ve all done it. When you find yourself stuck in a traffic jam in southern California, it very well could be due to a traffic accident up ahead. You turn to your passenger next to you and mention that if only people would quit rubbernecking, we’d get home faster. You round the bend up ahead and begin to see the flashing lights of an ambulance, let’s say. Or a few fire trucks. Do you keep your eyes on the bumper in front of you? Or do you glance over your shoulder, onto the shoulder? Yes…you rubberneck. Everyone does. We...
