The issue of her involvement in her mother's books has been hotly
debated in recent years. While some claim she edited and restructured
them to such an extent that she basically wrote them herself, and thus
was the "ghost-writer", others say her editing and re-structuring was
relitively cursory, and that the books were essentially her mother's.
Still others say both worked together on them, in an intense and
consuming collaborative process.
