Added Jakub, “We had a little reunion.

As Kelsey Grammer says in his 2020 low-budget action movie Money Plane, “Whatever you want to wager on, the money plane has you covered. You want to bet on a dude f*cking an alligator? Money Plane.”
Somehow, John Oliver, on his latest episode of HBO’s Last Week Tonight, managed to use the film to highlight the absurdity of abortion laws in the U.S.
The British comedian spent the majority of Sunday night’s episode discussing the current situation involving abortion following the Dobbs decision, particularly as it pertains to a number of local elections coming up this week.
How did he connect the dots? The money plane is much like floating abortion clinics, an idea proposed to get round some states’ making abortions illegal.
“Lawless territory, no rules, anything goes. It’s not only a foolproof plan, but it’s also the literal premise for the movie Money Plane.

Why is the retired NFL player Michael Oher bringing a lawsuit against the family who took him in as a teenager? Andrew Lawrence reports
When Andrew Lawrence, now of the Guardian US, interviewed the American football player Michael Oher in 2009, Oher was already uncomfortable about how his life story was being portrayed to the public. This was shortly before The Blind Side was released, and Lawrence says the film “threatened to blow up those uncomfortable elements one hundred fold”.
The Oscar-winning film, starring Sandra Bullock, tells the story of Oher’s rise to the NFL with the support of the Tuohy family, who took him in when he was 17.

New Delhi, June 11 (Ians) The lawsuits against top crypto exchanges Binance and Coinbase by the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) have not been able to severely impact the price of Bitcoin which is the largest cryptocurrency, and other digital coins.
Bitcoin, the largest cryptocurrency by market capitalisation, hovered around $26,500 per digital coin this week as investors remained largely unstirred by the SEC lawsuits.
The leading cryptocurrency took an initial dive below $26,000 on Tuesday but held steady above the threshold throughout the week, with analysts suggesting that investors had already priced in the actions, according to Coindesk.

Matthew Lawrence said he believes he was dropped by an agency after refusing to meet the demands of a prominent Hollywood director who asked him to take off his clothes during a hotel room meeting.
The Boy Meets World actor detailed his experiences on a recent episode of the Brotherly Love Podcast, with his brothers Joey and Andrew Lawrence while talking about the #MeToo movement and the harassment that men and women face in the industry.
“Not a lot of guys, in my opinion, have come out and talked about this in the industry,” he started off by saying. “Now granted, I’d say it’s probably a third of what women go through … [but] men go through this as well.”
Lawrence went on to explain that there have been times in his life when he’s “been propositioned to get a huge role” by people in power.

Joey Lawrence has been making movies with his brothers for some time now.
But Frankie Meets Jack adds another level of family fun, as Lawrence and his wife, Samantha Cope, co-wrote the Tubi original film.
Frankie Meets Jack is a romantic comedy in the truest sense of the phrase, pairing a sweet love story with a healthy dose of broad comedy.
Once you begin speaking with Lawrence and Cope, it's easy to see why the movie works. Their affection for each other is evident, as is their ease in each other's company.
Our conversation, punctuated by bouts of laughter, began by discussing Lawrence's partnership with his brothers.
"It's been great," Lawrence said when asked about working with his brothers.
"You know what? We worked together a lot as kids and stuff, and then we took, frankly, quite a large break. About three or four years ago, we said we got...

Kevin Lima's "A Goofy Movie" usually isn't listed as part of the Disney Renaissance. The film "wasn't even a B movie. It was a C movie," as Don Hahn (a producer on "Beauty and the Beast" and "The Lion King") recalled to Vanity Fair in honor of the movie's 25th anniversary in 2020. Much of the film's animation was outsourced to Disney Animation's smaller outlets in Paris and Australia, as well as non-Disney studios in Canada and Spain. The whole thing might've been scrapped, too, had it not already been greenlit by the head of Disney's film division, Jeffrey Katzenberg, just prior to his departure in the mid-1990s.
I bring all this up not to trash "A Goofy Movie" (I would never!), but to point out how ironic it is this "C movie" would go on to develop a passionate following, rivaling those for any of the Disney Renaissance hits.

The decade following the 2012 massacre at Sandy Hook Elementary has proved that the Republican Party’s infatuation with guns is stronger than any reservations it may have about children being slaughtered. Conservative gun worship has been reaffirmed in the wake of shooting after shooting, and it shouldn’t be surprising that after at least 21 people, including at least 19 children, were killed in Uvalde, Texas, on Tuesday by a teenager who bought two assault rifles shortly after his 18th birthday, Republican politicians and right-wing media chose guns over the nation’s children.

Alex Berenson, a Covid skeptic and anti-masker who regularly appears on Fox News to discuss the pandemic, was dragged on Twitter Tuesday for an old tweet in which he dismissed a projected death toll that turned out to be right.
“I don’t normally tweet my @FoxNews appearances but this one is vital: @IHME_UW [Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation] has been wrong over and over — why would anyone credit or repeat its projection of 500,000 US #Covid deaths by spring?” Berenson wrote last October.
It’s not yet spring, and the American Covid-19 death toll is already over 525,000, surpassing Imhe’s projection from last year.
Media Matters’ Andrew Lawrence expressed frustration with Berenson on Tuesday, writing, “Just no repercussions in conservative media for being this spectacularly wrong… this guy was on Fox last night casting doubt on the vaccine.”

The pandemic has driven home a lesson that’s been true for a long time about Republican politicians: They don’t actually care about the welfare of their constituents so long as they’re able to trick enough people into people into believing the other side is responsible for everything that’s wrong. Nearly 500,000 people have died and millions more have had their lives upturned largely because of the GOP’s negligence, but they’ll have you believe the real enemies are the liberals impinging on your freedom by asking you to wear a mask.

Sponsors for “Tucker Carlson Tonight” faced renewed calls for boycotts Thursday after Carlson falsely claimed Wednesday night that George Floyd, a Black man who was killed by police in Minneapolis last summer, died of a drug overdose. The claim Carlson shared on Fox News Wednesday has been debunked and it earned him significant ire as a result.
Sleeping Giants, an organization that frequently calls on Fox News sponsors to remove their ads from the channel and its associated website, started tweeting the video of Carlson making the claim directly at brands like Sandals Resort and Nutrisystem, which advertise during his primetime hour. The move has been successful for Sleeping Giants in the past.
Representatives for Sandals and Nutrisystem did not immediately return a request for comment. The brands have advertised with the network for years and their commercials have remained on the airwaves through previous rounds of advertiser boycotts aimed at Carlson and Laura Ingraham.

Fox News’ Tucker Carlson on Monday addressed the Friday resignation of his former top writer Blake Neff, saying that Neff’s racist, sexist and homophobic comments on an online message board were “wrong” — but also chastising “the ghouls now beating their chests in triumph at the destruction of a young man.”
Carlson further suggested that his critics were acting self-righteously in their response to news about Neff. “When when we pose as blameless in order to hurt other people, we are committing the gravest sin of all, and we will be punished for it,” Carlson said.
The primetime host began by acknowledging that Neff had indeed posted racist material under a pseudonym, a fact that CNN Business discovered and reported on Friday. “Blake was horrified by the story and he was ashamed,” Carlson said. “Friday afternoon, he resigned from his job.”

"It's a legend in the underworld... a bulletproof casino in the sky." Quiver Distr. has debuted a new official trailer for Money Plane, a crime heist thriller from actor-turned-filmmaker Andrew Lawrence making his directorial debut this year. Adam Copeland (known as "Edge" in the WWE) stars as a professional thief named Jack Reese, and with $40 million in debt and his family's life on the line he must pull off one final heist - rob a futuristic airborne casino filled with the world's most dangerous criminals. Sounds cool, right? If only it looked any good. The film also stars Denise Richards, Kelsey Grammer, Katrina Norman, Patrick Lamont Jr., and Thomas Jane. The concept for this is pretty cool, but it's yet another of these dime-a-dozen terribly cheesy action films they're making way too many of these days. But it still may be fun. Fox News’ Brit Hume defended comments from Texas lieutenant governor Dan Patrick Tuesday night, saying it is “entirely reasonable” that elderly Americans could be fine with dying amid the coronavirus outbreak to save the U.S. economy.

Fox News’ Pete Hegseth’s day in the sun stems from his willingness to toil in a dark place.

The first day of public impeachment hearings reinforced what the previous month of closed-door depositions all but confirmed: that President Trump attempted to extort Ukraine into interfering in the 2020 election. Witnesses George Kent, the deputy assistant secretary of state, and Bill Taylor, the top U.S. diplomat in Ukraine, laid out the case in exacting detail, while also revealing additional damning information, including that Trump was more concerned with Ukraine investigating Biden than the 2016 election.
Nevertheless, Republicans have claimed victory.
Rep. John Ratcliffe (R-Texas) called the hearing “boring.” Rep. Mark Meadows (R-N.

Update, 6:48 Am: MSNBC’s Nicolle Wallace and CNN’s Jake Tapper are among the anchors who called out attacks on the loyalty of Lt. Col. Alexander S. Vindman, the decorated Purple Heart recipient who testified in the impeachment inquiry.
After playing a clip of Fox News host Laura Ingraham and her two guests, John Yoo and Alan Dershowitz, Wallace called them “chickenshit,” noting that Vindman “passed a background check that the president’s daughter and son-in-law didn’t.”
Tapper and other CNN anchors blasted some of the remarks of Sean Duffy, the former congressman and MTV’s Real World star who recently became a CNN special contributor. Earlier on Tuesday, Duffy suggested that Vindman was more concerned about Ukrainian defense than U.S. interests. Tapper said that Duffy “smeared” Vindman.

Washington — The Trump-owned Republican Party showed no hesitation in attacking the integrity and credibility of Special Counsel Robert Mueller despite his being a Vietnam War veteran and Purple Heart winner. In the cult of Trump, defending the president outweighed any other concerns, including the Gop’s allegiance to anything involving “the troops.”
But what if the messenger were an active duty officer, a self-described “patriot” who, acting out of a “sense of duty” to his country, criticized President Trump’s actions? Would the Gop take this officer at his word...

As is the case after every mass shooting, America is fighting over what to do about gun violence following massacres in El Paso and Dayton that left at least 31 dead over the weekend. Sean Hannity sees himself as a beacon of common sense solutions. On Monday night’s edition of Hannity, the first since the attacks, the Fox News host unveiled what he believes to be an ingenious plan to solve the gun violence epidemic in the United States once and for all: create a police state.

If you believe former Fox News host Bill O’Reilly, Media Matters for America is the nation’s “most dangerous organization,” which would be quite a feat for a modestly funded nonprofit whose 80 employees spend a lot of their time quietly watching cable news at their desks. The 15-year-old, left-leaning news-watchdog group’s mission of combating “conservative misinformation” extends to minute-by-minute scrutiny of right-wing media — Fox News, in particular — and its stars, who do not, as a rule, enjoy the attention. Sean Hannity accused Mmfa of “liberal fascism,” and said...

In an interview with the New York Times published Saturday, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-ny) dismissed the influence of Reps. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-ny), Ilhan Omar (D-mn), Ayanna Pressley (D-ma), and Rashida Tlaib (D-mi), the four breakout freshman lawmakers who last month voted against a Gop- and Democratic leadership-backed $4.6 billion border bill that gives more money to Trump’s immigration enforcement agency. “All these people have their public whatever and their Twitter world,” Pelosi said in response to their decision to break with her on the bill. “But they didn’t have any following.

While sea level rise may be the most talked-about adverse effect of climate change, there is virtually no aspect of life on Earth that isn’t under threat from global temperature rise — including life on Earth itself. The United Nations recently released a summary of a report written by 400 scientists who found that up to one million plant and animals species are facing extinction, many within the next few decades, due to climate change and other man-made factors. “Human actions threaten more species with global extinction now than ever before,...

Tucker Carlson openly accused CNN of being tipped off by special counsel Robert Mueller’s office about Friday’s early-morning FBI raid of Roger Stone, telling his audience Monday evening that there was “no question” about how the network was able to film the Trump confidant’s arrest.
“Of course CNN talked to Mueller’s people before the raid. There was never any doubt about that,” Carlson said, without citing any evidence to support the claim. “All the barking aside, Mueller wanted the raid on Roger Stone’s home caught on tape and publicly aired as a warning to other disobedient witnesses about what can happen to you if you step out of line.
“CNN was happy to oblige, so CNN acted as the public relations arm of the Mueller investigation as they have before and then they lied about it in the most self-righteous possible way,” he added.

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-n.Y.) is not your typical member of Congress. After just a few days in office, she is already exchanging barbs with the Republican leadership and pundits on social media, defending herself against their criticisms.
It started with a dance. Conservatives began circulating a video of Ocasio-Cortez dancing with friends on a rooftop when she was in college. She shot back with a new video, dancing outside her Congressional office, accompanied by a tweet reading, “I hear the Gop thinks women dancing are scandalous. Wait till they find out Congresswomen dance too!

Jerome Corsi thinks he’s taking the high road. The conspiracy theorist staring down a perjury indictment said on Monday that he’d rather “sit in prison and rot” than take the plea deal offered to him by Special Counsel Robert Mueller and his “thugs.” Mueller’s office reportedly has proof that Corsi lied to investigators about whether he knew details of WikiLeaks’ plan to release hacked Democratic emails prior to the 2016 election. Though it has become clear that he did know about the leak ahead of time, Corsi has...

Laura Ingraham opened her show Thursday evening with a clarification of her Wednesday evening opening monologue in which she denounced “demographic” changes being “foisted” on the American people.
“A message to those who are distorting my views, including all white nationalists and especially one racist freak whose name I will not even mention. You do not have my support, you don’t represent my views and you are antithetical to the beliefs I hold dear,” said Ingraham.
The line about “one racist freak” is almost certainly a reference to David Duke, the former Ku Klux Klan Grand Wizard who voiced his support for Ingraham’s message on Wednesday.

Fox News host Laura Ingraham was criticized Wednesday night after warning viewers that “demographic changes” were being “foisted” on the United States and said that “the America we know and love doesn’t exist anymore.”
“In some parts of the country, it does seem like the America that we know and love doesn’t exist anymore. Massive demographic changes have been foisted upon the American people, and they are changes that none of us ever voted for, and most of us don’t like,” said Ingraham.
“From Virginia to California, we see stark examples of how radically, in some ways, the country’s changed,” she added. “Much of this is related to both illegal and — in some cases — legal immigration that, of course, progressives love.”

Be still, our '90s-loving hearts -- Joey, Matthew and Andrew Lawrence are returning to television!
It’s been 20 years since the short-lived sitcom Brotherly Love came to an end. But, in the current era of reboot and revivals, there may be some good news, courtesy of eldest brother Joey.
“We’re actually working on a TV show together for the first time in 15 years,” Joey tells Et. “We wanted to find a way not to redo Brotherly Love, but to bring us back together as grown men.”
While the show won’t revive the exact same characters, the three will be playing brothers once again. According to Joey, filming for the pilot begins in just a few days and will be formatted as a scripted, single-camera, half-hour comedy.
“It's edgy, which is different,” Joey says. “The dynamic and relationships that we have are not the late '90s, sitcom-like relationships.”

Kelly Mantle, a gender-fluid performer who was a contestant on the sixth season of “RuPaul’s Drag Race,” has made Oscar history as the first potential nominee eligible in both male and female categories, TheWrap has learned. Mantle plays a transgender prostitute in “Confessions of a Womanizer,” a Miguel Ali indie from Harbor House Films starring Andrew Lawrence and Gary Busey. The film’s producers ran into a dilemma when filling out Oscar paperwork, which required them to classify Mantle, who was born a man, as either male or female. Mantle was submitted for consideration in both categories, and the Academy confirmed that.
