Endemol Shine Group appears to have shuttered its U.K. digital talent management firm FlipSide Talent, which formerly repped noteworthy creators like Daniel Howell and Phil Lester, Emma Pickles, Thomas ‘TomSka’ Ridgewell, and Jana Vlogs.
FlipSide Talent was formed in 2014 by Endemol Shine Group after its acquisition of the ChannelFlip multi-channel network in 2012. The London-based talent management division was led by Fleur Brooklin Smith and Mike Cook -- though as of this month its website began to redirect to the homepage of Endemol Shine UK.

YouTube comedy duo Dan Howell and Phil Lester might be dropping some physical Truth Bombs soon. Don’t worry, we’re not talking about bombs—the pair may be set to release a party game called Dan and Phil’s Truth Bombs.
Though the YouTube comedians have yet to announce the release of any such game, fans have been gathering evidence of its existence, according to a report by We the Unicorns. One of the publication’s readers sent over a picture of the game they’d found in a Waterstones, a UK book and gifts store.
Another fan posted a photo of the “explosively honest party game” on Tumblr. It appears to be the same photo We the Unicorns received, and it’s accompanied by the caption:
“Apparently what happened is that a store that had received the games early put them on display by mistake and before they could pull them,...

It’s a brand new era for 25-year-old Dan Howell, the massively popular British vlogger whose flagship YouTube channel counts roughly 6.4 million subscribers, and who has also launched apps, tours, and other business ventures alongside frequent collaborator Phil Lester.
In a new video, Howell announced his decision to part ways with his now-synonymous, eight-year-old YouTube moniker DanIsNotOnFire. His channel will henceforth be known as Daniel Howell. The reasons for the change are myriad, including the fact that it’s better suited for professional endeavors, including his work with the BBC. Howell also said that the username, which he created as a teenager, no longer gels with his current identity.

YouTube creator Caspar Lee, who counts 9 million subscribers between his two channels, is set to serve as the digital host of this year’s Brit Awards. At the same time, YouTube, which has served as the Brits’ global livestreaming partner for the past three years, will once again host a live stream of the storied music awards show.
Lee, 22, will cover all the red carpet and backstage action, with celebrity interviews and additional content created exclusively for the Brits’ various social channels. This year, Brits performers are slated to include Ed Sheeran, Katy Perry, Bruno Mars, and more. Lee will have big shoes to fill, as last year’s digital hosting duties fell to fellow London-based creators Dan Howell and Phil Lester.

What do you get when you combine a llama, a dash of 'Dil', and a larger-than-life sized microwave? In some cases, it might be an exotic dish prepared on The Food Network. But, if you know anything about YouTube stars Dan Howell and Phil Lester, you’d know it was a recipe for an amazing theatrical experience. Filled with flashbacks, flashforwards, and everything in between, the UK duo killed time itself during a recent stop of their The Amazing Tour Is Not On Fire (Tatinof for short) tour.
My sister and I were lucky enough to get a meet-and-greet before the show, and even though I'm not necessarily the kind of superfan who knows what Dan and Phil eat for breakfast every morning, I was geeking out at the prospect of meeting them. Irl, they both towered over me at about six-foot -- but they were so welcoming. Selfies were taken and hugs were given.

Tumblr is renowned for being one of the internet’s central locations for all things fandom. As such, the Yahoo-owned micro-blogging site started compiling data in the summer of 2015 on the platform’s top trending topics across various categories and released the statistics on a blog called Fandometrics, updated on the regular every single week.
Tumblr defines its Fandometrics blog as “the pleasingly scientific ratings of fandoms on Tumblr.” The idea behind the project is simple: track which pop culture topics Tumblr users are referencing the most each week. Fandometrics breaks down each category (which includes Web Celebrities, Musical Acts, TV, Movies, Celebrities, and Video Games) into the top ten spots trending within the previous week. Fandometrics also determines if these top ten topics moved up or down in ranking.
For the week ending in September 7, 2015, for example, Tumblr found that under the Web Celebrities category, YouTube star Dan Howell...

Two YouTube stars have launched an app that requires quick thinking. Frequent collaborators Phil Lester and Dan Howell are behind the 7 Second Challenge app, which presents open-ended questions and asks users to respond in seven seconds or less.
The app is based off a challenge Lester invented for a vlog he recorded with Pj Ligouri in 2014. In that video, prompts include “make an argument between a shark and a scuba diver that results in the scuba diver falling madly in love with the shark” and “sing a song about bricks.” The result was fun and improvisational, and it quickly spread across YouTube, with other vloggers offering their own versions of the challenge.
The new app will allow the Seven Second Challenge to widen its reach even more. Hundreds of prompts are included, and users can record their friends’ seven-second answers, which can in turn be uploaded to social media. In...

YouTube vlogger Alfie Deyes has admitted that he can be affected by online comments.
However, he also told ITV's This Morning that he is not often bothered by such bullying, as he would rather focuses on the positive responses he receives.
"As soon as you see one comment that hits you hard, it does affect you… but I don't think it [bothers me] too much because there's a lot of positivity," said Deyes.
"I'd rather spend a minute replying to something positive than a minute arguing with somebody over something negative. I'd rather spend my time dedicating it to people that support me."
He continued: "I see so much stuff online, because a lot of my audience are younger, going through hard times, and I didn't realise how much bullying was happening online - so I always tell people to speak out."
Asked about the challenges of his profession, Deyes said: "The...

In June, popular YouTube content creators Dan Howell and Phil Lester (Aka Danisnotonfire and AmazingPhil, respectively) uploaded videos where they took part in an "Oreo lick race," through which they determined which one of them could eat an Oreo cookie the fastest. The video came and went without much hubbub, but now, a UK watchdog is using it as Exhibit A in its battle against unclear advertisements on YouTube. The Advertising Standards Authority (Asa) has ruled that YouTubers must include proper disclaimers for videos that are "obviously identifiable as marketing communications." The Asa investigated Howell and Lester's video, as well as several others from YouTubers like Emma Blackery and TomSka, after receiving a complaint from a BBC journalist. Sure enough, the YouTubers in question were paid by Oreo owner Mondelez (formerly Kraft Foods), which sponsors a lot of branded content on YouTube. (More recently, Mondelez agreed to a massive upfront deal with YouTube,...

Courtesy of Citv's Old Skool weekend and Challenge TV, 2013 has been a good year for Knightmare fans. Kristen Stewart landed at the 85th Academy Awards on a pair of crutches. After hopping her way down the red carpet, she made it to the stage along with Daniel Radcliffe to present the award for Best Production Design. In addition to a mysterious foot or leg injury, K-Stew was sporting a bruise on her left arm, as well as a funky attitude.
Twitter, as it will, went wild with commentary about Kristen's moment on the stage. Many thought she was stoned, and the rest thought she should either brush her hair or get out of show business. Here are a few Tweets that caught our attention:
Andy Levy: "Who are you wearing, Kristen Stewart?" "Xanax I think?"@andylevy
Joel McHale: Kristen Stewart is limping because she sprained her ankle from being excessively disinterested. #OscarsWithJoel@joelmchale
Ron Corning: Is Kristen Stewart always like this?@roncorning
