- He and new wife Loretta Young went on their honeymoon in Hawaii. On the last weekend of their trip, the newlyweds were the honored guests of Admiral Kidd aboard the battleship USS Arizona. Only a few months later, it would sink to the bottom of the ocean, with many hands onboard, in the attack on Pearl Harbor on Sunday, December 7, 1941.
