Top of the mornin’ to you on this St. Patrick’s Day! To celebrate, we here at Arrow in the Head decided to mark the occasion by going back over the Leprechaun movies and ranking them from worst to first. The Leprechaun Movies Ranked list can be seen below – check it out and let us know how you would rank the movies!
Leprechaun: Origins (2014)
This is appalling. Director Zach Lipovsky, writer Harris Wilkinson, and WWE Studios were given the chance to make a new Leprechaun movie, they cast a professional wrestler (Dylan “Hornswoggle” Postl) as the title character, and then they just churned out a dull monster movie. I don’t know how anyone involved thought this was a good idea (“You know what we should do? Take everything people liked about Leprechaun and remove it!”) or how Leprechaun: Origins made it through production. The story follows Americans backpacking through...

The erratic Leprechaun franchise is not known for sticking with a single concept for too long. The namesake (originally played by Warwick Davis) has gone to L.A., Las Vegas, space, and the ‘hood (not once but twice). And after an eleven-year holiday since the Davis era ended, the character received a drastic makeover in a now-unmentionable reboot. The critical failure of said film would have implied it was time to pack away the green top hat and shillelagh, and say goodbye to the nefarious imp. Instead, the Leprechaun series tried its luck again.
The general consensus for the Leprechaun films was never positive, and the darker yet blander Leprechaun: Origins certainly did not sway opinions. Just because the 2014 installment took itself seriously did not mean viewers would. After all, creator Mark Jones conceived a gruesome horror-comedy back in the early nineties, and that format is what was expected of any future ventures.

Producer Craig Perry says filming is now underway on what is currently called Final Destination: Bloodlines, with its release set for 2025.
Death is an inescapable spectre that will kill its victims no matter what they do. In related news, the Final Destination franchise is a quarter of a century old next year.
To mark the occasion, a sixth Final Destination film is being prepared, and series producer Craig Perry has revealed on social media that shooting is currently underway. He’s even revealed a title: Final Destination: Bloodlines – though that might be subject to change in the near future. More on this in just a second.
“After a long, hard slog through the pandemic and the strikes, Day One is finally in the can,” Craig Perry wrote on Facebook (via Bloody Disgusting). “2025 will mark the 25th anniversary of the release of the first installment in the franchise. To honor the...

It’s about time! Thirteen years have gone by since the release of Final Destination 5, but we’ve been hearing rumblings that another sequel was on the way for years. A while back, Jon Watts, director of Spider-Man: Homecoming, Spider-Man: Far from Home, and Spider-Man: No Way Home, came on board to produce the sixth film in the Final Destination franchise alongside Dianne McGunigle, Sheila Hanahan Taylor, and Craig Perry. Back in September of 2022, we learned that the duo of Zach Lipovsky and Adam B. Stein, who previously directed the 2018 film Freaks (starring Emile Hirsch and Bruce Dern) and the 2019 live-action Kim Possible movie, would be directing Final Destination 6. Last October, it was revealed that the film will be called Final Destination: Bloodlines… and now cinematographer Christian Sebaldt has shared an image that indicates Final Destination: Bloodlines will be heading into production soon! Jon Watts, director of Spider-Man: Homecoming, Spider-Man: Far from Home, and Spider-Man: No Way Home, is producing the sixth film in the Final Destination franchise with Dianne McGunigle, Sheila Hanahan Taylor, and Craig Perry – and entertainment industry scooper Daniel Richtman just revealed the plot synopsis for the new film, along with some character descriptions and the title, which isn’t going to be Final Destination 6. This one is going by the title Final Destination: Bloodlines, which is kind of bummer because Bloodlines is a very over-used subtitle in the horror world. To name just a few, we’ve previously gotten Wrong Turn 5: Bloodlines, Tremors 5: Bloodlines, and Pet Sematary: Bloodlines.
But there is good reason for the Bloodlines subtitle, because family bloodlines are important to the story. Jeffrey Reddick – who wrote the initial screenplay for the original Final Destination and contributed to Final Destination 2 – has previously said that...

The production designer for the upcoming Final Destination 6 film confirmed that it’s considered a reboot.
The sixth entry in the franchise was first announced as being in development in 2019, though due to many factors, including the Covid-19 pandemic, progress on the film has been slow. Both Zach Lipovsky and Adam B. Stein will be co-directing the project, and Scream VI screenwriter Guy Busik is penning the story.
While little is known about the movie, it was previously revealed that the plot will center on first responders instead of the usual cast of younger characters.

For the most part, horror franchises tend to center around a singular entity like a masked slasher, recognizable monster, defiant survivor, or a specific location. And then there's the "Final Destination" franchise, a series of films that has continued to thrive without easily merchandised iconography or the same stable of characters returning each time that are instead connected by the premise that no matter who we are, where we're from, or what we do ... death is going to get us one way or another.
It's a morbid thought, sure, but one that has more basis in reality than men who just won't die, serial killer-possessed dolls, dream predators, Bdsm hell demons, rural cannibal families, torturous masterminds with a legion of acolytes, or supernatural entities. Death is coming for us all, and the only difference is when and how it's going to happen. As the mortician Bludworth (Tony Todd) explains in...

Sources tell Bloody Disgusting that Tony Todd has signed on to reprise his role as William Bludworth in the upcoming sixth installment in the Final Destination franchise.
The horror icon played the enigmatic mortician in Final Destination, Final Destination 2, and Final Destination 5.
The plot reportedly centers on first responders. We’re told that the film digs into Bludworth’s backstory, including a flashback to his childhood that reveals more about his connection to death.
This may be what franchise creator Jeffrey Reddick was referring to in his recent comments that Final Destination 6 “unearths a whole deep layer to the story.”
Production is set to take place in Vancouver after the SAG-AFTRA strike is resolved. Zach Lipovsky & Adam B. Stein (Freaks) will direct from a script by Guy Busick and Lori Evans Taylor (Bed Rest). Filmmaker Jon Watts (Spider-Man: No Way Home) produces.

An open letter signed by 214 filmmakers has called on the Toronto Film Festival to drop longtime sponsor Royal Bank of Canada (Rbc) for financing oil projects on Indigenous lands and in Bipoc communities.
“Multiple leading Indigenous and Bipoc organizations and nations have denounced the bank’s indiscriminate enabling of projects on their lands, which they argue fail to respect their fundamental rights,” the letter signed by directors like Vincenzo Natali, Zach Lipovsky and Andrew Currie and addressed to TIFF CEO Cameron Bailey, stated.
The letter is also signed by a host of Canadian and international film creatives, including film directors, editors, festival programmers and cinematographers. Their letter was timed for the opening of TIFF, where Rbc has been a key sponsor for 16 years and this year is sponsoring the Los Angeles Times studio for celebrity interview, Rbc House, a venue for TIFF partners, and a festival party for The Black Academy on Sept.

Thirteen months ago, Jeffrey Reddick – who wrote the initial screenplay for the original Final Destination and contributed to Final Destination 2 – said that the upcoming sequel Final Destination 6 would shake up the formula of the franchise. Now Reddick has been asked by Collider to clarify what he meant by that… and while he had to tiptoe around spoilers while giving his answer, he did say that the film will be an interesting expansion of the Final Destination universe.
Reddick told Collider that “you can’t get away from the cheating death and death coming after you part of it because that’s what makes it a Final Destination film” but this one “doesn’t just kind of add another layer. Usually there’s a new layer every film where it’s like, ‘Oh, well, this can save you or this can save you.’ This film dives into it in such a unique way,...

Building upon comments he made to Dread Central last year, Reddick suggests – without saying too much – that Final Destination 6 will add a whole new layer to the franchise.

Twelve years have gone by since the last time a new Final Destination movie was released – which is way too long without a new entry in an awesome franchise that had a nice “one every three years” pattern going on for a while. Thankfully, Final Destination 6 is in the works. Last September, it was announced that the film will be directed by the duo of Zach Lipovsky and Adam B. Stein, who previously directed the 2018 film Freaks (starring Emile Hirsch and Bruce Dern) and the 2019 live-action Kim Possible movie. Shockingly, it’s been over ten years since the last Final Destination film. Following the huge success of The Final Destination – which was originally penciled as the end of the entire saga – studios opted to make another feature that was critically praised and more importantly, a financial success. Since Final Destination 5, there’s been speculation over another film in the long-running series; however, it was just recently confirmed that New Line hired co-directors Zach Lipovsky and Adam B. Stein. The duo has done notable work with their indie film Freaks being the most high profile. The duo will be

Fans of people cheating death and Rube Goldberg machines get ready because we're eatin' goooooood tonight! Earlier today it was announced that the "Final Destination" franchise was getting a new installment, with the directors of 2018's "Freaks," Adam Stein and Zach Lipovsky, tapped to bring "Final Destination 6" to life.
The directing duo has a fascinating background, having co-directed the live-action "Kim Possible" movie for Disney Channel, with Lipovsky directing "Dead Rising: Watchtower" and "Leprechaun: Origins." The Disney connection seems weird until you realize Lipovsky got his start as a kid actor in plenty of family-friendly horror fare like "Goosebumps" and Disney's "So Weird," while also appearing in "Zenon: Girl of the 21st Century" (which is extremely exciting news for me and like ... six other people on the planet). Regardless, the two made something really special with the sci-fi horror film "Freaks," which put them on the radar of the New Line...

"Final Destination 5" might have been one hell of a franchise closer, but we're not out of Death's grasp just yet. After years of speculation and discussion, it looks like "Final Destination 6" is finally on track for release, and its director has finally been announced. Well, its two directors, that is. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Zach Lipovsky and Adam B. Stein, the directors of 2018's "Freaks," have been tapped by New Line Cinema to bring the beloved franchise back to life.
Although the exact plot details are still being kept under wraps, we probably all know what it's going to be about, anyways. It will likely follow the tried-and-true formula involving a premonition, a fateful decision that results in a group of people avoiding a deadly event as seen in the aforementioned premonition, and Death starts hunting them down one by one because no one escapes their fate. Maybe...

Here’s some awesome news to end the week with: eleven years after the release of Final Destination 5, a new sequel is almost ready to head into production – and Final Destination 6 has just found its directors! The Hollywood Reporter has broken the news that the new sequel, which is expected to be released through the HBO Max streaming service, is going to be directed by Zach Lipovsky and Adam B. Stein.
The duo of Lipovsky and Stein previously directed the 2018 film Freaks (starring Emile Hirsch and Bruce Dern) and the 2019 live-action Kim Possible movie. Lipovsky also directed Dead Rising: Watchtower and Leprechaun: Origins on his own… but I’ll try not to hold that Leprechaun movie against him.
Jon Watts, director of Spider-Man: Homecoming, Spider-Man: Far from Home, and Spider-Man: No Way Home, is producing Final Destination 6 with Dianne McGunigle, Sheila Hanahan Taylor, and Final Destination franchise producer Craig Perry.

The Final Destination franchise is being retooled with a brand new movie, with Jon Watts (Clown, Cop Car, Spider-Man: No Way Home) on board as producer. Watts is producing the sixth installment of the franchise for HBO Max, with Lori Evans Taylor (“Wicked Wicked Games”) and Guy Busick (Scream 2021) writing Final Destination 6.
As an update today, THR reports that Zach Lipovsky and Adam B. Stein (Freaks) have been brought on board to direct Final Destination 6, with the plot under wraps.
Speaking with Dread Central, Final Destination creator Jeffrey Reddick recently teased what we can expect, suggesting the new movie will change up the classic formula.

So, you might have started watching Zach Lipovsky and Adam Stein's Freaks on Netflix because hey, who couldn't use some escapism in a sci-fi thriller these days? It's X-Men meets Stranger Things meets broad social commentary! Suffice to say, there are a lot of high concepts laced within the narrative, and the movie subverts our expectations in major ways. If you're wondering what the heck just happened after viewing Freaks, we've got you covered with a thorough, spoiler-y breakdown of the film's biggest twists.
Let's take it back to the beginning. The movie starts by parsing out the relationship between seven-year-old Chloe (Lexy Kolker) and her father Henry (Emile Hirsch). Chloe's lived inside an abandoned house her entire life because her dad's afraid of what the outside people might do to them. Whenever she disobeys him, he locks her in a closet. While skimming Netflix's latest releases, you might encounter a Canadian movie called Freaks, which has already been surrounded by a ton of buzz. Directed by Zach Lipovsky and Adam Stein, the film's twisty trailer offers a promising sci-fi thriller story centered on a young girl who discovers the outside world after spending her life inside a shabby house. It's certainly a mindbender, with an absorbing lead performance from newcomer Lexy Kolker, as well as support from a solid cast that features Emile Hirsch and Bruce Dern. If you're keen to learn all the relevant (and spoiler-free!) details of Freaks before adding it to your Netflix queue, read on.
Basically, Freaks follows a 7-year-old girl named Chloe (Kolker), whose disturbed and controlling father (Hirsch) locks her in a run-down house to keep her safe. Chloe longs for the outside world and her mother, although her father, who strangely bleeds from his eyes,...

Seven-year-old Chloe never leaves her ramshackle suburban home unless under the watchful eye of her paranoid father. Instead, he trains his daughter to adopt an assumed identity if she’s ever separated from him, or to hide in a well-provisioned panic room if he should not return from one of his infrequent forays outside. However something clearly isn’t quite right with this weird family dynamic and Chloe is determined to find out what exactly lies outside the door her father is so frightened of.
I originally saw Freaks way back in February at Frightfest’s Glasgow event and since then the film has been percolating in my brain and given that it’s out now on DVD and Blu-ray it’s the perfect time to revisit the film and confirm my suspicions…...

Directors Zach Lipovsky and Adam Stein's Freaks portrays the story of 7-year-old Chloe (Lexy Kolker), who lives in both fear under her father's (Emile Hirsch) protective and paranoid control, and fascination of the outside world, where Abnormals create a constant threat - or so she believes.
When a mysterious stranger (Bruce Dern) offers her a glimpse of what's really happening outside, Chloe soon finds that while the truth isn't so simple, the danger is very real.

Caught between her protective father and the outside world she's forbidden to explore, seven-year-old Chloe is stuck in her own eerie fairy tale in Freaks, the new sci-fi film from Adam Stein and Zach Lipovsky. With Freaks now in theaters from Well Go USA, and its score now available digitally, we caught up with composer Tim Wynn to discuss creating the unique theme for Chloe, collaborating with Stein and Lipovsky (after their previous work on the Disney Xd series Mech-4X), and the instruments he used to create the music of Freaks.
Thanks for taking the time to answer some questions for us, and congratulations on your score for Freaks! How did you get involved as the composer for this film?
Tim Wynn: Thanks, I really appreciate it. I am very excited about Freaks being released in theatres. I met Zach and Adam, the writer-director team behind Freaks, while working on Disney’s Mech-X4.

The specialty box office was fairly quiet this weekend, with a handful of releases and holdovers that were, at best, mild.
Neon and Participant Media‘s Monos hit theaters in New York and Los Angeles on a total of five screens. Directed by Alejandro Landes, the Red Dawn-esque dramatic thriller starring Julianne Nicholson made its debut at Sundance and won the World Cinema Dramatic Jury Prize. With that accolade under its belt, it raked in an estimated $43,285 for its opening weekend, averaging $8,657. In New York, the film opened at the Angelika and Landmark 57, while in L.A., it debuted at the Arclight Hollywood and Landmark. Even so, we hear that of all the theaters, the Angelika brought in a decent audience, while the others didn’t fare very well.

The stakes were high as Adam B. Stein and Zach Lipovsky headed to Toronto one year ago to debut Freaks, their long-gestating, low-budget sci-fi feature. The filmmakers had spent years writing the script, which centers on a young girl cloistered in a house with her paranoid father. Earlier this year, I caught a screening of Freaks by first-time directors Adam Stein and Zach Lipovsky at the Miami Film Festival. What I saw blew me away, and I honestly cannot believe that this film is their first feature. From the acting and storytelling to the ingenuity of the scenes, everything is just fantastic. I almost hate them. It's worth noting that in 2007, Stein was a finalist on the Steven Spielberg-produced show On the Lot, which searched for up-and-coming filmmakers. It would be catty or even cruel to suggest that Spielberg had anything to do with Freaks, but I'd be surprised if the titan wasn't an influence on Stein and (maybe) Lipovsky. The film has the qualities for which Amblin Entertainment is known: awesome storytelling, fantastic elements...
