Seamus Lyte, the UK agent to the late Carrie Fisher, has died at his home in Los Angeles of glioblastoma. He was 54.
The founder and Managing Partner of Seamus Lyte Management passed away peacefully last week with his husband of ten years, Andrew Wishart, by his side.
His death followed a three-year battle with glioblastoma, a fast-growing and highly-aggressive form of brain cancer, according to Lyte’s friend, Independent Talent Group agent Laura Hill.
Lyte’s career spanned 25 years, during which he built a unique roster of clients including Star Wars actor Fisher, British meteorologist Siân Lloyd, actor and presenter Christopher Biggins, couturier David Emanuel and TV host and radio DJ Tyler West.
Hill said: “Seamus will be deeply missed by all whose lives he touched. His legacy as a talented and highly respected entertainment professional will continue to inspire and bring joy to those who remember him.”

It's not often that Lord Sugar is impressed, but the boys' team on The Apprentice managed to wow him with their advertising campaign on tonight's show.
The boys - led by project manager Richard Woods, whose actual input into the task was debated by the rest of Team Versatile - branded some new cactus shampoo as Western and created a classy black-and-white advert which bowled over Lord Sugar.
"Whilst the product has got faults and got some tweaking that needs to be done, Versatile, you signed on to everything I told you to do so your team has won," he said in the Boardroom.
"I will say that in all the years I have run this task in this Boardroom, that's got to be one of the best. Seriously, it's got to be one of the best... That is very well done."
Meanwhile, fired candidate Aisha Kasim - who was...

This documentary about the revolutionary Vidal Sassoon struck a chord with hairdresser Mark Coray
All hairdressers know who Vidal Sassoon is. He threw out the old Us styles of curl and set, ushering in a new era of sexy, suave looks. But I didn't know that much about his life before seeing this. I enjoyed it so much, I watched it three times.
We learn that one of the reasons for Vidal's success was his courteousness. His mother took him to a barber's in Whitechapel, east London, where they lived, and insisted they give him an apprenticeship. The barber wanted her to pay them, but she couldn't. Then, as they were leaving, Vidal held the door open for his mother. "I see your son has manners," the barber said. "He can work here for free."
I really related to this: not only because it was my father who suggested I go into hairdressing,...

21-year-old Merily McGivern has opened up about her romance with I'm A Celeb's Lembit Opik. The undergraduate student, who has flown out to Australia to support the ex-Lib Dem MP, insisted that she wasn't concerned by Opik's previous failed relationships with Sian Lloyd and Cheeky Girl Gabriela Irimia. "I like to make my own judgments about people," she told the Daily Mail. "Lembit is a very gentle, sensitive, intelligent, caring and understanding man. I am sure people have lots of preconceptions about him being irritating and a bit of a letch, but that is not the person I know. "He seems to be having a good time in the jungle and I really hope viewers can see the real Lembit, although the editing is bound to emphasise certain elements of his character. "I think people will (more)...

A number of Countdown regulars have condemned the show's producers for their treatment of Carol Vorderman. Dictionary Corner participants Rick Wakeman, Esther Rantzen, Sian Lloyd and Ingrid Tarrant have all spoken out in support of Carol, who claims she was "forced out" by bosses. Vorderman announced that she was quitting the Channel 4 game show last week after being told to accept a 90% pay cut or stand down. "She has been really badly treated. Saying this means I have probably made my last appearance in Dictionary Corner but I don't care. I think it is a huge mistake," Wakeman told The Mirror. "People can make themselves irreplaceable like Bruce Forsyth on the Generation Game and I think lots of people do tune in for Carol. They are cutting (more)...
