- Adopted a little girl and named her Snow (2001)
- Died in car crash in Honduras April 25, 2002. She was the only fatality in a vehicle that had seven passengers.

- Lopes doesn't show up for a press conference. She was then considered missing and the word goes out to the local radio stations and TV stations. No contact with other TLC members or manager. Not many were surprised due to her spontaneous behavior, but they were very worried. It's later announced she has contacted someone and said she will make an appearance in October at an award show.
