- He was performing in two films simultaneously at the time of his death: Don Juan (1926) and The Honeymoon Express (1926). The former was only moderately successful due to its costly Vitaphone musical/sound-on disk effects, the latter film was given only a token release due to Louis' death.
- Louis was playing Pedrillo, Don Juan's heavy-set assistant, in Don Juan (1926) when he died while the film was still in production. That is why his character disappears halfway through the movie.
- Willard Louis was a rotund character actor of both stage and screen, best known for his portrayal of _Babbitt (1924)_. Modern sources sometime erroneously confuse him with prolific silent screen actor/director/writer, Will Louis (1873-1959).
