It’s time for David Harbour to take a turn portraying Father Christmas. Known for other fatherly roles like Jim Hopper in Netflix’s “Stranger Things” and Alexei in Marvel’s “Black Widow,” the actor takes on a Christmas night crime in addition to Santa’s yearly duty of delivering presents across the entire planet in one night in the R-rated actioner “Violent Night.” John Leguizamo plays the bad guy — Scrooge.
From director Tommy Wirkola, the film has a runtime of 1 hour and 52 minutes. Within that time frame, David Harbour’s Santa Claus embarks on his mission to drop off presents, when John Leguizamo and his cronies interrupt the regularly scheduled program by attempting a robbery of a very rich family.
Fans of David Harbour and or John Leguizamo may be wondering how to watch “Violent Night,” and we have the details.

Exclusive: Queer advocacy group Out in Hollywood released its second annual list of the best unproduced queer-focused television pilot scripts of the past year.
The 2022 Out Loud List was selected from among hundreds of nominations submitted from across the industry and evaluated based on criteria including the strength of the writer’s voice, viability of the project to be sold in today’s marketplace, and conceptual freshness. A group of readers (including proudly out network/studio execs and producers) helped narrow down the list, which was then curated by Out in Hollywood’s board of directors.

Can college sweethearts found love again years later, during the holiday season, no less?
We would like to think that they can, and that's the question that's posed on Let's Meet Again on Christmas Eve.
Kyla Pratt, a Lifetime Christmas film veteran, returns this holiday season as Corrine, a young woman who may have let the love of her life go after college.
According to the synopsis, Corrine and Rob (Brooks Darnell) were young sweethearts with their lives ahead of them, but when they jumped on individual opportunities on opposite sides of the globe, they parted ways.
However, they made a deal. Corrine and Rob both agreed that two years later, on Christmas Eve, they would meet up once more to determine if they truly were meant for one another.
But, of course, life had other plans, and it left one of them at their spot waiting, and the other person didn't show.

Whoever said it's uncool to ring in your 21st birthday with your parents clearly hasn't met the Lowe family. Over the weekend, Rob Lowe and his wife Sheryl Berkoff headed to Las Vegas for a fun weekend getaway. Along the way, they couldn't help but celebrate their son's big birthday. After turning 21, John Lowe joined his dad and a group of friends including Patrick Schwarzenegger for a night out at the Omnia Nightclub inside Caesars Palace. E! News has learned the group was escorted to a VIP table where they were treated to a birthday cake and oversized images of the birthday boy. They would later enjoy the sounds of resident DJ Calvin Harris before calling it a night in the early...

John Lowe being the Ten Commandments Killer was a huge letdown — like when your mother would give you an orange after dinner and call it dessert — but the lack of that central mystery has left the rest of this season with a gaping void. Now that the season's overarching question has been answered, just what story, exactly, is American Horror Story: Hotel trying to tell? How is it going to tie up all the little ragtag loose ends within the next three episodes? There is one thing that unites this episode: It's all about sons. Liz Taylor, John, and Iris reunite with their prodigal sons, but in very different ways. The hour starts with a sad old couple offing themselves in one of the rooms at the Cortez, which didn't make much sense to me and will probably piss them off after they discover that they're stuck for the...

It's been a while since a season of American Horror Story has been this consistently good, both in terms of acting, characterisation, and general plotting. Well, this episode certainly took a hard left turn, didn't it? After last week's optical Ambien recap of how John Lowe is the Ten Commandments Killer, we don't see Wes Bentley or his beautiful ass once this episode. Sure, there's plenty of killing and bloodletting, but not even a single measly Seven rip-offs. For all of you skeptics out there, the crazy measles vampire children are back too. Could this be the season where all of the plot threads come together without any being dropped or forgotten? It could be!"She Wants Revenge" starts off with the Countess delivering a very interesting voiceover. She says things like, "The last 100 years of my immortal life have been a lie. The illusion of control. In fact, I have controlled nothing." Wow, that is deep. "It is time to construct something new, something durable. I will not be managed." Alright! I'm ready to...

After last week's fantastic revelation that John Lowe (Wes Bentley) is indeed The 10 Commandments Killer (and Btw, where the bloody hell was he this week? And who Has to go down before the series ends? Let's dig in. What We Learned Ramona's...

Evan Peters and Wes Bentley's characters make the perfect counterpoint in this week's fun, ever-stylish American Horror Story: Hotel...
This review contains spoilers.
5.8 The Ten Commandments Killer
There's not a lot of artifice or misdirection to Ryan Murphy's television shows. Very rarely does he pull off a surprise, and when he does pull off a surprise—see the Rubber Man from Murder House—it's not always very good or very welcome. I'm not even sure he's trying to spring surprises anymore, given just how long the show has telegraphed the very “twist” it unfurls this week. John Lowe, ace detective and the man obsessed with tracking down the Ten Commandments Killer, is actually the Ten Commandments Killer, which is something people have basically been discussing since the earliest stages of the season.

I don’t know what we saw more of in this episode: man-ass or blood. What about man-ass covered in blood, like Wes Bentley’s very fine form as he stumbled around the Hotel Cortez covered in the gore of two Swedish girls? There was also Cheyenne Jackson’s pert bubble butt in bed with the Countess and Mr. Wu’s delicious, blood-slicked backside. This show is single-handedly trying to balance out the ratio of male-nudity-to-female-nudity on television after Game of Thrones so decidedly tipped the scale in one direction.Aside from his wonderfully gruesome naked body, there is nothing at all I find interesting about John Lowe. Not one single thing. If you took all of his parts out of this season, I think it would be absolutely perfect. Granted we’re only at the halfway mark of this season, but I just find his alcoholic-going-slowly-insane shtick to be fairly tedious,...

Spoilers ahead for the most recent episode of American Horror Story: Hotel. On Wednesday night’s American Horror Story: Hotel, John Lowe is invited to a dinner party along with Aileen Wuornos, Richard Ramirez, Jeffrey Dahmer, John Wayne Gacy, and the Zodiac — a murderer’s row of serial killers. "John is clearly not yet our kind," their host James March tells them when the detective balks at their idea of amuse-bouche and desserts. Was Lowe invited to this strange soirée because he's a guest of the hotel, because they enjoyed the idea of a helpless law-enforcement official in their midst, or because he might actually be a kindred spirit? Wes Bentley, who plays Lowe, helped shed a little light when he chatted with Vulture about Ahs theories, understanding addiction, and why he wants Gwyneth Paltrow's head in a box.Why do you think John Lowe was invited to the Devil's Night dinner?...

American Horror Story is finally living up to the horror in its title once again with the bloody and uber-stylish Hotel...
This review contains spoilers.
5.2 Chutes And Ladders
If you just looked at the name of this show, you'd expect something, well, horrifying. Murder House definitely had its moments, and Asylum might have been the most unsettling series of the show, but American Horror Story hasn't been particularly horrifying the last few seasons. Sure, they both had their moments—the Freaks recreation from last season, Twisty's whole everything, some of Dandy's moments, the rape Minotaur... but lately, the gore and grotesquerie has been as comical as it has been horrifying. The zombie chainsaw attack from Coven, anyone?
We're only two episodes into American Horror Story: Hotel, but it already seems like the show is going to aim more to be horrifying than horribly campy. Not that it's not campy,...

Ryan Murphy really wants you to stay up past your bedtime. When my DVR told me that this episode was going to be one hour and 42 minutes long, 12 minutes longer than even the season premiere, I thought it had to be a lie. Surely this was one of those things where FX was making us tape an episode of Sex&Drugs&Rock&Roll that aired afterward so that someone would watch that abomination. But it was not a trick. This episode was really that long. And we got tons of answers. God, I really hope Ahs didn’t blow its load before episode three. The biggest exposition dump happened when Iris sat Detective John Lowe down at the bar (oh that gorgeous, gorgeous bar where I want to have every one of my birthdays from now until Lady Gaga's eyebrows grow back) and told him the entire story of James Patrick March,...

Vampires, ghosts and murderous hotel owners, oh my! It appears that American Horror Story: Hotel is going back to its roots and taking a page from season one with dead people roaming the halls of the hotel. Except this time, there's now a touch of True Blood with bloodsuckers thrown in. In "Chutes and Ladders," Iris explains a little bit about the history of the Hotel Cortez to Detective John Lowe, who is intrigued when his daughter claims she found his son Holden. Meanwhile, the Countess kicks out Donovan when she turns a male model into her new lover.

In its premiere, American Horror Story: Hotel went for the jugular, serving up everything from a blood-soaked foursome to an eyeless monster with a drill-bit dildo. But did it deliver shock and awe or shock and “eh”? Read on, then we’ll discuss.

Welcome to the Hotel Cortez. Centered in Los Angeles, where some guests check in, but they don't check out. Ryan Murphy and company have promised a dark, scary season five for American Horror Story: Hotel. And quite frankly, nothing is scarier than creepy children running around a hotel, which Ahs seems to be full of so far.
"Checking In" lays out the land of hotel, which is filled with drug addicts, creatures and employees who may or may not be dead. As strange things continue to happen in Room 64, the Countess feeds her hunger and greets the new hotel owner. Meanwhile, Detective John Lowe tries to track down a serial killer.

Along with its constantly changing casts and stories, there’s one other thing that’s always different about American Horror Story in each new season: the show’s opening titles. And the Ahs team have outdone themselves this year, as the main title sequence for Hotel may be the creepiest in the show’s history. As the credits (which were first released by Ryan Muprhy earlier today on Twitter) show, American Horror Story: Hotel‘s cast includes Lady Gaga as Elizabeth (also known as The Countess), Sarah Paulson as Hypodermic Sally, Angela Basset as Ramona Royale, Kathy Bates as Iris, Wes Bentley as Detective John Lowe, Matt Bomer as Donovan, Evan Peters as Mr. James March, Denis O’Hare as Liz Taylor, Finn Wittrock as Tristan Duffy, Chloë Sevigny as Alex Lowe, Cheyenne Jackson as Will Drake, and Mare Winnigham as the laundress of the Hotel Cortez. Additionally, Lily Rabe...

If there’s one thing American Horror Story gets right each season, it’s the opening credits.
FX has revealed the opening credits for the upcoming season Hotel, and as expected it is flashy, stylish creepy and downright provocative.
Wes Bentley will play a detective named John Lowe who is investigating a string of murders which leads him to Hotel Cortez in Los Angeles. Ryan Murphy‘s twisted horror anthology series also stars Lady Gaga who’s been tapped to play the hotel’s owner, Countess Elizabeth, as a vampiric hotel owner romantically involved with a number of guests and employees.
The opening credits and title sequences typically feature clues for what’s to come throughout the season and in this new video we see flashes of the 10 Commandments as well as creepy images of apparitions, children and other demonic sights.

I’m not too sure how much the guests checking into American Horror Story: Hotel will like their rooms, especially if there’s something (or someone) under their beds, like in this all-new teaser for the FX anthology series. In the video below, Wes Bentely’s Detective John Lowe attempts to get some sleep while staying at the Cortez, but for some reason, he can’t keep his eyes shut. Perhaps it has to do with an eerie feeling of sorts, a feeling like he’s not alone. As the short teaser for the upcoming season of American Horror Story shows us, John is most definitely not by himself in his room, as Max Greenfield’s Gabriel is under his bed, seemingly unconscious until he wakes up in pain, gasping for air. And since Greenfield is said to be a part of the “most disturbing scene” in American Horror Story history,...

Ryan Murphy fans got a double dose of his dark imagination during Tuesday’s “Scream Queens” with the latest teaser for “American Horror Story: Hotel.” The 29-second clip shows Wes Bentley (playing detective John Lowe) lying down for what will no doubt be a nightmare-filled sleep in a not very welcoming room at Hotel Cortez. While that is eerie enough, the real horror is revealed when the camera pans under the bed and shows “New Girl” actor Max Greenfield, as Hollywood junkie Gabriel, locked in a silent scream. We’re only about two weeks away from the premiere of the upcoming season of American Horror Story, and if the show’s teasers, trailers, and behind-the-scenes videos haven’t been enough to convince you to check into the Hotel, maybe the series’ all-new poster will. The poster, which you can see the full version of below, is a portrait of sorts, featuring all of Ahs: Hotel‘s cast members in character. Of course, Lady Gaga’s Elizabeth is the most fabulous-looking of the bunch, but all of the characters certainly stand out in a way that only American Horror Story can make happen. As the poster shows us, the cast for this season of American Horror Story includes the aforementioned Gaga as Elizabeth (also known as The Countess), Sarah Paulson as Hypodermic Sally, Angela Basset as Ramona Royale, Kathy Bates as Iris, Matt Bomer as Donovan, Wes Bentley as Detective John Lowe,...

So it seems that the new season of American Horror Story will be an exciting one.
Premiering on 7 October 2015, producers and actors alike are claiming that the show is going back to its roots and that the season will have the same feel as it did back in Season 1, which was arguably the best season so far.
“I think it’s going to be really scary,” actor Dennis O’Hare told TVonline at the Emmy Awards. “It feels like season 1 in a lot of ways.”
It centres around Detective John Lowe (Wes Bentley) who investigates a series of murders, and it leads him to Hotel Cortez, a hotel run by the eccentric Elizabeth a.k.a The Countess (played by Lady Gaga, of course).
These promo trailers are just as eerie as the seasons before, they tease us with hints as to what will happen in the 5th installment...

If you feel a cadaverous, culinary hole in your heart where Hannibal used to be, American Horror Story will try to fill you up: The first hour of Hotel will feature a serial killer dinner party hosted by Aileen Wurnos (Lily Rabe), Entertainment Weekly reports. As Ryan Murphy puts it: "The biggest serial killers of all time all come to the hotel. Gacey. Aileen. John Lowe’s invited to a devil’s night dinner. He thinks someone is pulling a huge prank on him. It’s the biggest serial killers of all time in a room with him and he has to figure who is trying to make him lose his mind." There will also be a "hipster" couple who are "horrified they can’t get their artisanal cheese." Maybe Lady Gaga will show up in her meat outfit and make this a meat-dress and cheese party.

Next to its stalwart rep troupe, American Horror Story's fifth season has taken a couple of bold casting risks that look as though they may pay off. Lady Gaga and Naomi Campbell are due to appear alongside the more tried and tested likes of Kathy Bates, Wes Bentley, Evan Peters, Sarah Poulson, and Angela Bassett in the new series, which premieres this October in the Us.
The fifth season is the first not to welcome the inestimable talents of Jessica Lange, but the crop of talent lined up below should rush in to fill that gap.
Here's an introduction to American Horror Story: Hotel's new characters, courtesy of Entertainment Weekly's exclusive:

Good looks must run in Rob Lowe's family! The "West Wing" alum hit the gym on Tuesday and showed off his sweaty hard work with a very special workout buddy, his 20-year-old son. "Generational #Fitness with @johnnylowe #Essential #Results #ForeverYoung #Profile4Men," he captioned the Instagram shot. In the photo, the hunky actor goes shirtless as he snaps a selfie next to his equally good looking offspring, John Lowe. Talk about some great genes! The 51-year-old's son with wife Sheryl Berkoff definitely bears a striking resemblance to his dad in his younger years. Not only did he inherit his great hair, but he also has those same dreamy eyes! Not much better than limiting with my boy. Bullseye is to be revived for a theatre tour this autumn. The revival will feature darts stars including former world champions Eric Bristow, John Lowe and Bob Anderson. "Bullseye is one of the most successful quiz shows in TV history - it's great to be part of its return," Anderson told The Sun. The show originally ran between 1981 and 1995 and was presented by Jim Bowen, who will not host the theatre tour. Instead, stand-up comedian Neil Wheatley will take over as host. Audiences will reportedly compete for a £500 cash prize and items ranging from trouser presses to teasmades. (more)...
