Madrid, Aug 27 (Ians) Sevilla’s disastrous start to the season continued on Saturday as the Europa League champions were stunned by Girona 2-1 at home.
Yangel Herrera put an impressive Girona side ahead in the 16th minute when he hammered home a loose ball after Sevilla failed to clear a corner, reports Xinhua.
Nemanja Gudelj leveled for Sevilla on the stroke of halftime as he controlled a clearance from a corner and volleyed home, but Aleix Garcia put Girona ahead 10 minutes into the second half with a good finish from a right cross.
Ivan Rakitic had the ball in the net for Sevilla shortly afterward, but his excellent shot was ruled out for a narrow offside. The home side was denied a penalty appeal in the last minute of normal time after the Var decided Rakitic’s free kick had hit David Lopez’s shoulder, rather than his arm.

Madrid, April 11 (Ians) Fc Barcelona failed to open a 15-point lead over Real Madrid at the top of La Liga but nevertheless extended their advantage to 13 points after a 0-0 draw at home to Girona on Monday night.
Despite the lack of goals, it was an entertaining game, although Barca clearly missed the injured Ousmane Dembele and Pedri once again.
The first half may not have produced any goals, but it had plenty of entertaining football, with both sides creating chances.
Viktor Tsygankov fired just wide for Girona in the opening minute, while Robert Lewandowski and the lively Ansu Fati had efforts just wide at the other end before Girona goalkeeper Paulo Gazzaniga had to react quickly after Santiago Bueno’s loose back-pass looked to be heading into the net, a Xinhua report said.
Taty Castellanos then fired into the Barca side-netting with the match only in its 12th minute,...

Madrid, Oct 24 (Ians) Fc Barcelona remain three points behind Real Madrid at the top of La Liga after a 4-0 win at home to Athletic Bilbao on Sunday night.
One of Barca’s best performances of the season coincided with Bilbao’s worst as Barca led 3-0 at the break thanks to Ousmane Dembele’s 12th-minute header, followed by Sergi Roberto’s 18th-minute shot, which took a slight deflection to lift it over Athletic keeper Unai Simon.
Robert Lewandowski added a third in the 22nd minute and Bilbao weren’t helped by Ander Herrera limping off injured, reports Xinhua.
Herrera’s replacement Dani Garcia also had to go off injured in what was a relatively tepid second half which saw Ferran Torres score Barca’s fourth following a pass from Dembele.
Atletico Madrid moved third after a 2-1 win away to Real Betis thanks to two goals from Antoine Griezmann.

Madrid, Aug 22 (Ians) Four teams remain unbeaten in the Spanish La Liga after two rounds of the new season. Here are some things we learned over the weekend:
Ansu Fati Could Be Barca’S Best Signing
Fc Barcelona scored three second-half goals to decide a game that was looking evenly balanced at 1-1 away to Real Sociedad, with Marc-Andre ter Stegen making some vital saves to stop Barca from going behind.
All of that changed with the entry of Ansu Fati into the game, as the youngster provided two assists and scored himself as Barca ran out 4-1 winners.
Fati has endured two terrible years with knee and muscle injuries and it’s hard to believe he is still just 19 years old, but once again he showed his enormous talent.
Much has been made of Barca’s transfer business this summer, but if Fati stays fit, he will be the player who makes the difference.

The actress, 47, walked away from the controversial religion in 2013. Her husband Angelo Pagán, 59, daughter Sofia, 13, and mother Vicki left with her, but Remini says many who leave Scientology have had family members who stay within the church feel forced to “disconnect” from them.
The church says no one is forced to cut contact, and disconnection is a choice.

With superheroes dominating the box office and ruling the airwaves these days, it comes as no surprise that a fair percentage of people being exposed to such characters via live action offerings will become curious and check out the source material. What may intimidate them, however, is where to start reading due to years of comic book continuity having been piled up.
Something I’ve often done is recommend that people check out their local libraries, where they can sample a multitude of definitive graphic novels for free. And, should you elect to do so, you’ll likely find one of several Marvel series to be recently recognized by the Young Adult Library Services Association (Yalsa) such as Star Wars, All-New Wolverine or The Vision.

Wolverine died over a year ago, but his legacy lives on as his clone Laura Kinney, who was formerly known as X-23, dons his original blue and yellow spandex in All-New Wolverine #1. Taylor sets the tone of the book in an extended flashback featuring Wolverine and X-23 back in their X-Force days again showing off his ability to take the...

This November, a new hero takes up the mantle of Wolverine in All-new Wolverine #1. It’s been over a year since the “Death of Wolverine” storyline ended the life* of everyone’s favorite cigar-chomping mutant, but the show must go on. Now that the X-Men are safely in possession of Logan’s Adamantium-covered body and Mister Sinister’s plan has been foiled, it’s time for a new beginning. Who better to continue Wolverine’s legacy than Laura Kinney, aka X-23? And with new responsibilities comes a brand-new look. The new Wolverine might be wearing Logan’s colors, but her street clothes are all her own. *For now. Other than Uncle Ben, no one stays dead in comics forever. Image Credit: Marvel Entertainment/David Lopez From the official press release: Laura Kinney [is] embrac[ing] her destiny. No longer X-23. No longer the weapon they built her to be. Scott Snyder delivers nothing less than a tour de force in Batman #24 (art by Greg Capullo, DC Comics), continuing the Zero Year arc. This is a double-sized issue and Snyder crams in tributes to Bat-history (including a wonderful tribute to the cover of Detective Comics #27), well-placed cultural references and brand new iconic moments like his life depends on it. We get glimpses of the construction of the Batcave, Bruce Wayne gets a buzz cut that makes him look something like a crime-fighting Gareth Bale and his war with the Red Hood Gang comes to a head at a certain Ace Chemical plant…
Everything about the issue works beautifully. The larger amount of pages to play with have given Snyder and Capullo licence to go big with their story – this Batman doesn’t begin as a rumour passed around by paranoid criminals, but rather introduces himself to Gotham on the largest scale possible.
