- Peter Martin Urtel was born on August 25, 1914 in Berlin, Germany. He was an actor, known for Bürgerkrieg in Russland (1967), Othello (1958) and To Commit a Murder (1967). He died on January 16, 1989 in Sommerhausen, Bavaria, Germany.
- The actor Martin Urtel first learned the profession of a graphic artist before he took acting lessons at the Berliner Staatstheater.
- After his departure from Berlin in direction to Munich he continued his theater career at the Munich Kammerspielen, where he acted till 1945.
- In the 70s followed his last cinematical works. With "Die Fälschung" (1981) he said goodbye from film and TV.
- He made his film debut in 1941 and he continued his career after the war both at the theater and in the film business. Later he also was active for television.
- He was already engaged for the stage by Gustaf Gründgens in 1932 for whom he worked till 1935.
