Season three of international thriller drama series Departure, headlined by Archie Panjabi, has begun production in St. John’s, Newfoundland and Toronto. Will & Grace alum Eric McCormack has joined the series, produced by Shaftesbury in association with Corus Entertainment, Starlings Television and Red Arrow Studios International.
Departure, whose existing two seasons are streaming on Peacock, was renewed for a third season by Canadian network Global in May. Peacock picked up Seasons 1 and 2, which also starred the late Christopher Plummer, after screening them so it is too early to say if the streamer will also take in Season 3.
Created by Vincent Shiao, with Jackie May serving as showrunner and Canadian Screen Award winner T.J. Scott as director, Departure centers on the mystery of The Queen of the Narrows ferry, destined for St. John’s Newfoundland, which sinks in record time with many of its 500 passangers on board.

the streamer has dropped the second season trailer of the intense conspiracy series which follows the ensuing investigation into a mysterious crash of a controversial new high-speed train traveling between Toronto and Chicago.
Departure Season 2 is set to launch on Peacock on August 5.
All six episodes will drop at once, so you can get your binge on with this one.
"Departure season two follows Kendra Malley (Emmy(R) award winner Archie Panjabi) as she's recruited to investigate a new transportation disaster -the derailment of an experimental high-speed train in rural Michigan," reads the official logline.
"Pressure mounts for Kendra and her team to crack the puzzle as the small town reels in shock, and the world demands answers."

As she hangs helplessly on a steel hook, Vanessa confronts pent up guilt and temptation on an introspective Van Helsing.

This Van Helsing review contains spoilers.
Van Helsing Season 3 Episode 10
“As if I’d leave you on your own.”
It’s difficult to watch “Outside World” and not draw comparisons to Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol and Martin Scorsese’s The Last Temptation of Christ as Vanessa confronts ghosts from her past and questions the path she’s chosen. Tonight, Van Helsing gives viewers priority seating for a haunting psychological examination of the choices Vanessa’s made to this point, and with her mind and conscience now reasonably clear, she sets off alone to bring the darkness inside of her and in the world to a close. Well, not quite alone.

He was a playboy with links to the mob; so why is John F Kennedy remembered as the perfect president? New film Jackie may have the answer. We explore the movies’ latest return to Camelot
The unmissable films of 2017
On 29 November 1963, a Life magazine journalist named Theodore White sat down to interview the newly widowed Jackie Kennedy. Inside the family compound at Hyannis, she spun him a tale of beauty and horror, contrasting grisly details of her husband’s murder (“I could see a piece of his skull coming off; it was flesh-coloured, not white”) with the golden years that went before. Jack Kennedy, she recalled, had loved the Broadway musical Camelot. He had a habit of playing the title song on the Victrola at night. “There will be great presidents again,” she said by way of conclusion. “But there will never be another Camelot.”

A new trailer for Jackie has now arrived (watch it below), in which Portman portrays the former First Lady in the immediate hours and days following the death of President Kennedy. The film, directed by Pablo Larraín, plays more like a series of moments than it does a straight narrative -- hopping between scenes that take place minutes after President Kennedy is shot to days after the incident, as the First Lady assists in the planning of her husband's...

Watching Season 7 of The Good Wife is a little like keeping track of a tennis match — back, forth, back, forth, back, forth — except there are 17 players in the mix, the ball is on fire and the chair umpire is firing a rifle toward a random spot on the court every 30 seconds.

For argument’s sake, you could say Alicia is Serena Williams and Eli is Roger Federer — they’re sometimes down, though never, ever out — but there’s no guarantee some upstart won’t come along and bump out one or both...

All hail queen Jackie Burkhart (Mila Kunis). The spoiled princess with the killer flared jeans and sweet blue eye shadow won all of our hearts over on "That '70s Show" with her conceited charm, and we hope her magical moments will live on forever.

“I made Mama think I was depressed – or maybe I was depressed. I don’t know. I felt like I was pretending to be depressed to avoid having the talk. But maybe I was really depressed and just thought I was pretending.”
After reading the film’s synopsis— “17-year-old Jackie is in distress as her older brother Matthew gets his first girlfriend and prepares for college. Though Matthew does not share her incestuous desire, Jackie resists the intrusion of reality on her idyllic childhood world.”—The Unspeakable Act sounds like your typical, American indie filled with moments of pseudo-psychology, overly clever dialogue, and exaggerated self-importance. But it is one of the most assured and insightful films of 2013 – and one of the least-seen. Despite a glowing review from Film Comment’s Jonathan Robbins and a spot on Ignatiy Vishnevetsky’s ‘best of’ list, the film has yet to gain the type of recognition it deserves.

Just minutes into The Neighbors‘ Season 2 premiere (which airs tonight at 8:30/7:30c on ABC), Toks Olagundoye ditches Jackie Joyner-Kersee’s preppy golfwear for something a little… stealthier.
Like, black-leather-bodysuit stealthier — a detail met with great approval when it hit Twitter last week via the ABC comedy’s official feed.
Olagundoye chuckles when the wardrobe selection is brought up. “It’s definitely not in any way, shape or form as fancy, insofar as the choreography, but I’m essentially reenacting the Catherine Zeta-Jones laser-avoidance scene from Entrapment,” she says, laughing.
The sitcom has become adept at pop culture asides of that sort.

Certainly documentaries have inspired TV series before (recently MTV made"Catfish" a television hit). But, with Lauren Greenfield's critically acclaimed "The Queen of Versailles" slated to make its television debut next Monday on Bravo, its director Lauren Greenfield isn't interested in expanding the doc to a series. "No, for me, I spent three years on it. That was really the film," Greenfield tells TheWrap at NBCU's summer press day in Pasadena on Monday. "Jackie may consider that at a later point, but I'm working on other things now." So, why choose to debut...

Rachel Weisz was once going to star as the First Lady with then-husband Darren Aronofsky at the helm, but Noah Oppenheim‘s Jackie may have found a second life with none other than Natalie Portman.
So, Aronofsky was initially involved in the project, but he backed out when his relationship with Weisz ended. A few years ago it attracted the interest of Steven Spielberg, as well, but he reportedly will only produce it for a TV movie for HBO.
Not to mention that Aronofsky directed Portman to a Best Actress Oscar with Black Swan so it’s possible that he could come back to the project after finishing Noah.
Portman is being courted by Fox Searchlight to take play Jackie in the film chronicling her life in the immediate aftermath of the assassination of her husband JFK.

Showtime: Sneak Peeks from the Nurse Jackie and The Big C Finales
Two of Showtime's leading ladies are on opposite sides of life during their upcoming finales.
While still on vacation with her family in Puerto Rico, Cathy Jameson of The Big Cfinds herself separated from her dive boat and adrift on the calm waters with nothing but silence, sunshine, and her thoughts. Sometimes it takes being that alone and that isolated in order to be able to clear your mind and really examine things that might have been bugging you; in Cathy's case, it looks to be her true feelings on her roles as a wife and a mother, both things that she was never 100% comfortable in embodying.
Cathy may finally have the time to slow down, but Nurse Jackie Peyton has no time for such things. With her job at All Saints (possibly) behind her, Jackie's back on...

Nurse Jackie Sneak Peeks: Jackie Calms the Troops and Defies Mike
It was only a matter of time before new boss Mike Cruz overplayed his hand. This season on Nurse Jackie, the Quantum Bay transport has asserted his authority at All Saints and despite a bump or two along the way, the employees have mostly been receptive. Perhaps they were too receptive, though, as it has given Mike the idea to try and "break" Jackie once and for all, particularly after the whole mess with Charlie happened. Though Jackie has been decidedly more mellow and less aggressive than in seasons past, she's still not one to mess with, judging by the sneak peeks.
Next week's episode of Nurse Jackie, titled "Are Those Feathers?", finds Jackie morphing from beleaguered health care provider to some sort of All Saints mama bear. You may find her making snarky comments to Coop or Zoey,...

We entered the "No-Kimono-Zone" on Nurse Jackie this week, and it was filled with temptation.
First, there was sex. With Dr. Cruz, Jacks? Really?!? I don't even know why that possibility strikes me as so disturbing, it just does. Edie Falco is beautiful, but she's so transformed herself into this trouble title character that I remember finding her sex scenes with Eddie equally nausea-inducing.
There's just something so non-sexual about Jackie Peyton. She's always in scrubs. Her personality isn't exactly seductive. We've seen her snorting one too many crushed pills. I don't know, maybe it's just me.
Then, there were those drugs. At least one pill's worth.
Season four has done a terrific job building a will-she-or-won't-she tension. Each episodes has seemingly given Jackie cause to use again - from Grace learning about rehab, to Kevin finding a younger woman, to his filing for custody of the children - and...

Tonight on Nurse Jackie: Jackie May Have a New Roommate
There has been a lot of change running through season four of Nurse Jackie. Aside from the professional shifts that have come from the hospital coming under new ownership and Akalitus going out on the floor again, Jackie's life has been in flux. A trip to rehab, a bunch of secrets getting out, possibly losing custody of her children - it's all happened and we're only a few episodes in.
The trend of change will continue, at least on tonight's episode of Nurse Jackie, titled "One-Armed Jacks". Mike Cruz and Quantum Bay, for instance, have issued new scrubs for the nurses, a solid navy blue cloak of uniformity and compliance. As expected, nobody takes to the idea, Akalitus still adjusting to being in scrubs again and Zoey fiercely protecting her cutesy animal scrubs. If the nurses of All Saints...

Wow. What an incredible season finale to "The Good Wife." It could've easily been titled "Things Fall Apart" for Lockhart/Gardner, but the ending left a lot of hope for Season 4 in regards to both Kalinda and the Florricks.
Case of the Week
Louis Canning and Patti Nyholm have teamed up to use a class action case to not only fish for information into Will's grand jury investigation, but also to destroy Lockhart/Gardner for their clients. It all turns out to be a smoke screen, however - their real ploy was to be such a distraction to the firm that they could poach Patrick Edelstein, the "Facebook" guy, without whom Lockhart/Gardner is in a world of hurt financially.
The case did bring out one very interesting development - Peter was deposed and admitted on the record to his and Alicia's separation so that no wrong-doing could be cast...

Tonight on Nurse Jackie: The Wall
Jackie Peyton is nothing if not strong-willed. Granted, that will comes wrapped up in an inflated sense of self and inability to tell the truth, but the determination in whatever she does ends up being strangely admirable. Almost the point where you begin to believe in her special brand of sociopathy, as Nurse Jackie is a fighter of the highest order and one that you can't necessarily count out at anytime.
But I don't know about the possibility of leaving rehab early. This was the first major step forward the character has made, regarding her addiction and resulting stunted personal development, so there's a certain bittersweet feeling that comes from seeing her check out in half the time she was scheduled to be there. Jackie may have done the physical work, both in detoxing and the various assignments from her counselor, but sobriety...

Whenever there's a spin-off of any type of show, you immediately start looking for ways to differentiate it from its mothership. You can pay attention to how the cast gels together, the type of ground covered each episode, or the tone of the show as a whole, but there has to be enough of a common link to keep you interested while enough of a new identity to keep the spin-off from being a carbon copy of the original.

The Darkness II, like its predecessor, follows malevolent Mafioso Jackie Estacado as he grapples with the wicked, Mike Patton-voiced entity that lurks inside of him. However, unlike the first game, it looks like Jackie may have met his match. Find out who, or what, it is after the break. While the first gameplay trailer doesn't name the scarred villain ordering Jackie's crucifixion, or why he wants the demonic entity that's bonded with Jackie, it does show the game's bold new art style. It lacks the high-contrast, shadowy punch of the first title, but the light cel-shading and painterly textures certainly bring The Darkness II back to its comic book roots. The Darkness II is out...

Ten-year-old Jackie Evancho wowed America’s Got Talent viewers last night with her seriously grown-up voice. She won the YouTube popular vote to land on the show, and I wouldn’t be surprised if she won the whole thing. Behold:
Is there a certain…creepiness to it? Maybe. But the girl’s got some serious pipes.
Howie’s comments seemed to indicate that Jackie is supposed to be Agt’s Susan Boyle — its staggeringly popular breakout star, its crazy-viral hit. I’m skeptical, not because Jackie lacks talent but because perfectly packaged adorable blonde children can only surprise us so much.

Sexy and offbeat, Bloomington is a fantastic little drama from writer-director Fernanda Cardoso. Smartly playing with – and even subverting - the teacher-student lesbian romance, it's a refreshing treat in a summer swimming with overdone melodramas.
Sarah Stouffer plays Jacqueline, a child star that has grown up and decided to go to college in Bloomington. She navigates the hallways and quadrangles just fine, but comes across an uncomfortable student population who alternatively fawns over her, (as big fans of Neptune 26, her cult TV series) or cast disapproving looks at the pampered ex-star.
Jackie herself hates the attention. As a straight-edged girl with a solid head on her shoulders, she honestly wants to learn – and get away from her obnoxious mother. She quickly takes on two majors, (English Literature and Psychology, of course) and buckles down with a study group of uneasy buddies.
As it turns out, she's trying to escape from tragedy,...
