Top critics gave new 'Devil' movie mediocre reviews so far. Universal Pictures released their new horror/thriller flick "Devil" into theaters today, and the top critics have given it pretty mediocre reviews so far. Only three critics have reviewed it at the moment. It looks like they were shut out from early reviews of the film. It's garnered a few C ratings from the top critics, and stars: Chris Messina, Geoffrey Arend, Logan Marshall-Green, Bojana Novakovic, Jenny O’Hara, Bokeem Woodbine, and Jacob Vargas. John P. McCarthy at Box Office Magazine gave it a C+. He said, "There are a sufficient number of jolts thanks to quick edits and sound effects, plus the script's efficient structure." Adam Markovitz over at Entertainment Weekly gave it another C+ rating. He stated, "A pocket-size supernatural thriller that plays a bit like Agatha Christie's Ten Little Indians retold by an unstable Sunday School teacher.
