This story about “The Banshees of Inisherin“ composer Carter Burwell first appeared in the Race Begins issue of TheWrap’s awards magazine.
To Carter Burwell, it made perfect sense. He’d just finished reading the script to Martin McDonagh’s black comedy “The Banshees of Inisherin,” and his thoughts were pretty clear.
“It’s a script about two guys on a small island off the coast of Ireland during the Irish Civil War,” he said. “And I said to Martin, ‘Is there any reason the music wouldn’t in some way be Irish?”
Well, yeah, there was a reason. “He just hated that idea,” Burwell said, laughing. “It clearly touched a nerve of some sort, so I never brought that up again. But it wasn’t obvious what else it should be, so I waited until I saw some of the footage before I even started thinking about it again.

Fable IV doesn't seem to be on Microsoft's radar, but that doesn't mean the series is finished, says Xbox boss, Phil Spencer...
Once upon a time, Fable was one of Microsoft's premiere exclusive franchises. The last time we got a Fable game, however, was in 2012 when Microsoft released Fable: The Journey and Fable Heroes. Neither were proper sequels, though: The Journey was a gimmicky Kinect game and Heroes was an Xbox Live Arcade title with relatively few ties to the original trilogy.

An entomologist, how fortuitous.
It’s the season to come to town and the mayor wants to kick out the expert because it might hurt their business. But it isn’t summer on Amity Island, it’s the Dia de los Muertos in a small Mexican village and it isn’t sharks, it’s a swarm of vicious insects. One thing is the same—we’ve got a man-eater out there. In Deadly Swarm, Dr. Daniel Lang (Shane Brolly) is an entomologist brought to this small village to take care of the malaria-carrying mosquitos. The mayor (Roger Nevares) isn’t too pleased that Lang’s sanitized mosquitos are now annoying the populace ahead of the Dia de los Muertos celebration. Meanwhile, the semi-crazed Dr. Fortsen (J. Patrick McCormack) has captured a swarm of deadly wasps and given them to a drug-smuggler to take back to the United States. This smuggler...

I still remember watching the flick The Swarm within the last couple of years. The flick redefined the word "boredom," and the problem was only compounded by its ridiculously long runtime. Hopefully Lionsgate's new flick Deadly Swarm can get some buzz back!

In all honesty, it's not going to be the maddening plot holes or ridiculous character continuity that makes me eventually give up Glee, it's going to be the creators screwing with the fans. A month after Ryan Murphy said quite clearly that Cory Monteith, Lea Michele, and Chris Colfer are "not going to be back at all for Season Four," his partner Brad Fulchuk goes to Comic-Con and says the exact opposite. "Here's the exact thing: They are seniors, so they're graduating, but because they're graduating doesn't mean they're leaving the show. If you have Lea Michele under contract, you don't say, 'We're gonna let you go.'"
But the news wasn't so good for Chord Overstreet, who was offered recurring status for 10 episodes with an option for joining the cast midseason, but he turned it down. "We wanted him back because we like Chord personally and had some good...

The Daily Show's Jon Stewart is being credited by many for igniting the media and public outcry that ultimately resulted in passage of the 9/11 First Responders Bill. However, not everyone is praising the comedic host, as John McCormack of The Weekly Standard suggests Stewart's crusade for legislation and self-appointment as the "arbiter of what political beliefs are 'insane'" have made Stewart more of a demagogue than a respected journalist. No matter what you call Stewart, his growing influence is proving hard for anyone to ignore.

The W hotel in Washington, D.C. Courtesy of the W. Although the historic Hotel Washington, in Washington, D.C., reopened as a W hotel back in July, at tonight’s big opening blowout, the space is officially being christened as the District’s new “It” place to drink, dine, and be decadent. Hotel Washington has long held a special place in Washingtonians’ hearts—it opened in 1917 just two blocks from the White House, and as the city grew around the president’s mansion, the hotel played host to a revolving door of Hollywood stars (from John Wayne to Tom Cruise), politicians (former Treasury secretary Paul O’Neill and former Speaker of the House John McCormack both lived there), and a variety of other notable figures (such as Duke Ellington and Willie Nelson). Of course, what the hotel became best known for over the years is the unbeatable view from the rooftop bar,...

Irish American chat show host Conan O’Brien got a pleasant surprise on Thursday evening's “The Tonight Show” when the hottest women in the world, Irish-American actress Megan Fox, said that she had a long-time crush on him. “I like guys that are really smart and funny, and I have an affinity for guys who are really tall and have red hair,” said Fox slyly as Conan played along. “I’ve had a crush on you for a long time, it’s true," continued the sex siren. “There are two things I really like about you and a lot of women would agree with me. Intar (Eduardo Machado, Artistic Director/John McCormack, Executive Director/Alina Troyano, Associate Artistic Director) is scrambling today to salvage its season, which was scheduled for two engagements, winter and spring, at the now suddenly shuttered Zipper Factory Theater. The first engagement was to begin February 11th and run through March 7th. Rehearsals for the two one-acts have already begun. In a statement today, Artistic Director Eduardo Machado said, " we are deeply saddened by these sudden developments. We had no idea this was even a possibility. Tickets were about to go on sale, the cast is in rehearsal, and we are suddenly out on the street. For a non-profit company like us, this is a devastating blow!" He went on to say "Intar continues to look for a permanent home since the demolition of it's City owned theatre of 35 years to make way for the long aborning Clinton Green Project. Intar...
