Tyler Childers and Sierra Ferrell are the leading nominees at the 2024 Americana Honors & Awards. The Appalachia-reared musicians each scored three nominations — including Album, Song, and Artist of the Year — when the categories were announced on Tuesday at the National Museum of African American Music in Nashville.
Childers, a Kentucky native, is nominated for his album Rustin’ in the Rain and the song “In Your Love,” while the West Virginia native Ferrell is recognized for the album Trail of Flowers and the song “American Dreaming.”

In between the release of 2015’s Flatlands, a dark, moody journey through his native Texas panhandle, and this year’s new album The Last American, Ryan Culwell nearly lost his life. Disenfranchised by the touring business and uncertain of his next step as an artist, Culwell took a job trimming trees and, like a scene out of Maximum Overdrive, came face-to-blade with an out-of-control chainsaw.

The weather couldn't have been more Forks-like in Parsippany, New Jersey on Friday for the kickoff of Summit and Creation Entertainment's Official "Twilight" Convention. About 2,000 Twilighters are expected to descend on the Hilton Parsippany Hotel for the three-day event (with one attendant coming as far as Brazil).
The hosts for the weekend are "Hillywood Show" castmembers Hannah Hindi, Hillary Hindi, Jacob Jost and Drew Lorentz, whose viral video spoof of "Twilight" has garnered more than 2 million views on YouTube.
