Supergirl returns this weekend but, for one week only, the title will refer to Alex Danvers rather than Kara. Called “Alex in Wonderland,” the sixteenth episode of the Girl of Steel’s fifth season will continue Alex’s adventures through Obsidian’s virtual reality world, following on from last week’s “Reality Bytes.” In that episode, we saw Alex eyeing up her own super-suit for a moment. Next time around, she’ll put it on and take to the skies as she gets a taste of her sister’s life.
Chyler Leigh has been teasing this development for a while, posting a behind-the-scenes snap of herself in the super-suit on social media. These new promo images give us a much better look at the costume, though. As you can see in the gallery below, Alex’s Supergirl suit resembles Kara’s, but with the red and blue swapped for black and turquoise.

The Arrowverse returns from its winter break tonight with the thrilling final two parts of “Crisis on Infinite Earths.” But though we’ll see Melissa Benoist’s Girl of Steel in these last installments of the crossover, Supergirl season 5 won’t resume until this Sunday. But when it does, we can expect a big shake-up to the show’s status quo.
True, we don’t know exactly what that’ll be just yet, but we can get a taste of it from these photos for the midseason premiere, titled “The Bottle Episode.” For one, the images tease that Lex Luthor (Jon Cryer) will stick around after “Crisis” to continue causing problems in National City. What’s more, it looks like Jesse Rath’s Brainy will be going through some changes. Several of the pics seem to showcase him cycling through various personalities. Though Supergirl tells the story of Kara Zor-El first and foremost, it’s pretty much impossible to avoid certain hallmarks of the DC Universe due to her being the cousin of Superman. As such, Tyler Hoechlin has already shown up as Big Blue on several occasions, not to mention other vital characters such as James Olsen and Cat Grant putting in appearances as well.
So, naturally, one would think Lex Luthor wouldn’t be far behind, but aside from seeing him as a child during a flashback sequence, he’s been merely name-dropped around National City. Still, the likes of Lena and Lillian have filled the void in a sense, with the latter actually beating her son to the punch by being the first to don the Lexo suit in live action.

One of TV’s seminal gone-too-soon dramas could be back-after-a-long-while.
Adrian Pasdar told TVLine that a “reboot” of Profit — which was famously pulled from Fox’s schedule after just four airings in April 1996 — is being developed by director/producer Tawnia McKiernan, daughter of Stephen J. Cannell (an Ep on the original series).
A rep for McKiernan did not respond to TVLine’s requests for comment on the status of the project.
“The time is right,” Pasdar said during a recent interview, reflecting on his title role as a ruthless businessman who preceded such TV antiheroes as Tony Soprano, Dexter Morgan and Walter White.

To say that last night’s episode of Supergirl delivered some unexpected moments is quite the understatement. Sure, Kara may not have learned the true identity of Reign, but she did come pretty close. Still, the death of Livewire and the introduction of a new Worldkiller, Purity, are moments we won’t soon forget.
Next week, it looks as though the series may stray away from the Legion of Super-Heroes – at least for the moment – and instead focus on a few other unfolding situations. For starters, we can expect the battle between Morgan Edge and Lena Luthor to continue. Even having been explored sporadically thus far this season, our guess is that this thread will somehow be woven into the greater tapestry before long.
Speaking of which, it appears that Sam will continue to experience a struggle within, as her Reign persona will continue to come and go. In the past,...

Back in season 2, Supergirl writers aimed to spice up James Olsen’s character by having him take up crime-fighting under the guise of Guardian. However, fans didn’t take to the change much and it seems the writers themselves got bored of the development. In season 3, James hasn’t suited up once as the chrome-domed vigilante. Even though we have a few days to go until some of our favorite DC TV shows return for the back half of the current season, we’re able to peer ever so slightly into the future now that more synopses are creeping online. Don’t forget, episode descriptions tend to make their rounds three weeks ahead of time, but thankfully don’t really spoil whatever episodes come before.
First, let’s talk about Supergirl.
On January 29, it looks as though the series may stray away from the Legion of Super-Heroes – at least for that week – and instead focus on a few other unfolding situations. For starters, we can expect the battle between Morgan Edge and Lena Luthor to continue. Even having been explored sporadically thus far this season, our guess is that this thread will somehow be woven into the greater tapestry before long.

A re-imagining of “The Greatest American Hero” is in the works at ABC with a put pilot commitment, TheWrap has learned. The 1980s comedy superhero series starring William Katt is being revived by “Fresh Off the Boat” writer Rachna Fruchbom. Fruchbom’s take on the series will give the concept a new twist by centering on Meera, a 30-year-old Indian-American who is given superpowers and tasked with protecting the planet by a group of aliens. The project hails from 20th Century Fox Television and ABC Studios. Fruchbom will executive produce with Nahnatchka Khan and Mandy Summers of Fierce Baby. Tawnia McKiernan,...

With mere hours to go until a brand new episode of Supergirl is set to air, the network has put out a teaser clip showing the Maiden of Might confronted by returning foes in Metallo and Lillian Luthor.
Now, we’ve known for a little bit that the Luthor matriarch would be putting in another appearance and that the Cadmus threat isn’t totally behind us, but given the recent knowledge that Lena is behind bars for some reason, it looks as though this footage takes place after some kind of jailhouse switcheroo.
Personally, I’m interested to see if the Cadmus arc will be wrapped up in this episode or sometime soon because a larger threat is seemingly looming involving that mysterious alien race that has been popping up lately. And, from what we can gather, it will have everything to do with the recently cast Teri Hatcher and Kevin Sorbo,...

In the promo for the next episode of Supergirl, it was heavily teased that Lex Luthor would finally be making an appearance in The CW series. Unfortunately, we now know that’s not the case as a new batch of images reveal that it’s actually her mother that Lena is visiting. However, with Metallo set to break the Cadmus leader out, Lex may still have some company behind bars.
As you can see, Lena (who’s served as an ally to the Girl of Steel so far) ends up being imprisoned when she’s blamed for that, and while there’s a very good chance she’s innocent, you have to believe this could sour the budding friendship between her and Supergirl.

Although it seems much of Earth-38’s mythology concerning supervillains began with Kara’s emergence as Supergirl, some key components are far behind us, such as Lex Luthor’s heyday. But that only makes sense when you consider that he’s Superman’s archnemesis, not the heroine this series focuses on.
Still, that hasn’t stopped the producers from introducing Lena and Lillian Luthor, Lex’s sister and mother, respectively, on the show. And from what we can tell, it’s the family matriarch whom Lex shares most in common with in this particular universe.

Despite being set in a world where Superman exists, Supergirl has often had to dance around the fact that the Man of Steel is part of this corner of the DC Extended Universe. During season 1, we caught only a glimpse of his arm or foot, and while he appeared in the first two episodes of season 2, Clark Kent’s been nowhere to be seen since.
That’s mostly because Henry Cavill is playing him on the big screen, but could Supergirl be about to introduce an alternate take on Lex Luthor? We know that Jesse Eisenberg will reprise the role in Justice League, but the promo above points to a new version showing up for a confrontation with his sister Lena as he continues rotting behind bars since being put there by Superman.

Whether it’s the introduction of a possibly new Black Canary on Arrow or knowing Kevin Smith will return this spring to direct another episode of Supergirl, there’s much to be excited about.
When it comes to the week Valentine’s Day occupies, it looks like there won’t be as much new material to look forward to. Fast & Furious and Sleepy Hollow alumni are working on a new telly version of The A-Team, for Fox...
In 2010, a crack commando unit got a film reboot from a studio that didn’t bother to continue with the franchise. Today, they survive as soldiers of fortune, and have been rebooted once more for the televisual realm. If you have a free evening, if no other show will do, and if you can find them.... maybe you will watch, The A-Team.
Indulgent intros aside, we’ll get to the point – Fox is developing a new TV version of The A-Team.
Sleepy Hollow writer Albert Kim is currently working on a script, and Tawnia McKiernan - daughter of the original series’ co-creator Stephen J. Cannell – has been lined up as a producer. Additionally, Chris Morgan – who has been heavily involved in the Fast & Furious film series – is also on board as a producer.

Reboot fever is far from over: Deadline reports that The A-Team will get a second life on TV. This time around, Fast and the Furious writer-producer Chris Morgan will executive-produce the action show for Fox (the original aired on NBC) alongside Tawnia McKiernan, daughter of the show's original creator, Stephen J. Cannell. It'll have the same premise: A group of American Special Forces ops get framed for a crime they didn't commit, only now the group will prominently feature women instead of mostly putting them on the sidelines, like the original series did with Amy Amanda "Triple A" Allen. In 2010, Fox also remade the series as a feature film starring Bradley Cooper and Liam Neeson that wasn't exactly the box-office smash it hoped for. Perhaps, in its original TV format, it'll fare better — especially if they get Ed Sheeran to revamp the theme song.

Thirty years ago, a crack commando unit was sent to television by producer Stephen J. Cannell for The A-Team, a series about helping people in need as soldiers of fortune. After five years, they escaped into the Los Angeles underground until 2010, when the characters were given the big budget film treatment by Joe Carnahan. Now, 20th Century Fox Television has found them again and is planning a reboot series.Yes, while the movie version had its Ott charms but never pulled off the trick of launching a film franchise, the rights holders are now pinning their hopes on a refreshed TV series. Sleepy Hollow writer/producer Albert Kim and regular telly director Tawnia McKiernan (who also happens to be Cannell’s daughter) are set to be locked in a garage until they finish retooling the series for contemporary audiences, adding some new spins to the format including a more diverse...
