For the first time in history, two Black quarterbacks will face off in a game which will decide the championship of a professional football league — in the U.S., that is.
The outcome of Super Bowl Lvii will likely be decided by those Black signal-callers: Patrick Mahomes, the newly-minted 2022 Mvp and engine of the Kansas City Chiefs’ dynamic offensive machine, versus Jalen Hurts, also an Mvp finalist and electrifying dual-threat Qb. Both are considered to be among the very best in the NFL, and Mahomes is well on his way...

Cheat codes may not be as prominent in video games as they once were, but there was a time when entire magazines, TV shows, and websites were dedicated to sharing these commands, codes, and tactics that would change the way you played your favorite games.
The thing about cheat codes is that they’re rarely just about the “cheat.” Yes, there’s a certain joy to becoming invincible, unlocking new items, or just skipping a few levels, but the thing that separates the best cheat codes from an endless selection of similar cheats is the way they would often go on to define the games they were in to such a degree that it almost feels stranger to think of playing those games without cheats enabled.
From tanks that appear out of thin air to secrets that made you the most popular kid in the neighborhood, these are the absolute...

Vice TV is following up tonight’s “Vice Versa: Chyna” documentary with next week’s installment, “Vice Versa: Fear of a Black Quarterback,” TheWrap has learned. We can also exclusively debut the trailer for the June 24 premiere.
“Fear of a Black Quarterback” features former NFL QBs Donovan McNabb, Warren Moon, Akili Smith, Vince Young, Shaun King, Quincy Carter and Marlin Briscoe, as well as ex-ESPN personality Jemele Hill and super agent Leigh Steinberg. The film “provides an inside look into McNabb’s NFL experiences and the hardships and discrimination Black players in this position have faced,” in Vice TV’s own words.
McNabb was one of three Black quarterbacks selected in the first round of the 1999 NFL Draft in what seemed like a turning point for a league where white players predominantly held the quarterback position. Maniac introduces its best character yet, a sweet ring-tailed lemur named Wendy. But the human characters could use some work.
This Maniac review contains spoilers.
Maniac Episode 4
Lemurs are so cool.
Here’s a fun look into what life was like before mass adoption of the Internet. When I was around 10 or 11 years old, my family had a desktop computer with internet access but the internet wasn’t all that fun or reliable yet. And it certainly wasn’t mobile. The would-be intoxicating universe of the World Wide Web was constrained to that old Dell desktop that lived inside our home’s “office.”
So on slow summer nights when there was nothing to do and no Wikipedia holes to fall into, I would sit on my parents bed in their room, smack in front of their small TV and watch Animal Planet. I would spend the night (or at least...

Before audiences get a chance to see what it actually is, part of what makes “Maniac” one of the fall’s most anticipated new shows is that it’s a premise that could lead to anything.
That goes for the trailers, too. The initial teaser pointed to a colorful, ominous opening. The first official extended look hinted at a more comprehensive look at the possibilities of the mind. This exclusive last look, which you can watch below before all ten episodes drop next Friday, goes more toward an overarching sense of destiny between the characters played by Emma Stone and Jonah Hill.
There are a few more details about the facility that helps bring those two together in alternate worlds. There’s another rousing speech by Justin Theroux’s experimental drug trial doctor. And there’s even a small glimpse of Sally Field!

Up until the first glimpse of the newest Netflix series “Maniac,” details on this high-profile remake were sparse. Turns out, it’s because the Cary Joji Fukunaga-directed finished product looks like it can be literally anything it wants.
Based (very loosely) on a Norwegian series of the same name, “Maniac” doubles the fantasies of the original, splitting out the escapist adventures of two patients in the midst of an experimental drug trial. Together it looks like the series is going to put Jonah Hill and Emma Stone’s characters through a series of alternate realities, including some “Lord of the Rings”-style journeys, Jazz Age society soirees, and Hill in a crisp throwback Warren Moon jersey.
The Netflix version of “Maniac” comes from writer/creator Patrick Somerville, novelist and alum of “The Leftovers” (where he co-wrote the Season 3 Emotional Devastation Hour Known as “Certified“). Meanwhile, after his groundbreaking work...

The National Football League can't seem to get away from criticism over the dangers of brain trauma in the game. Currently, over 4,000 former players and their families are suing the league, claiming that the NFL hid information related to the true dangers of the repetitive hits players take.

The thought was a wider field, similar to the one used in the Canadian Football League, would help spread out the bodies, leading to less pile ups. I’m not excited whatsoever for Madonna’s Super Bowl Halftime Show. Not because I dislike Madonna or think that she’ll do a bad job; on the contrary, I’m sure she’ll play the hits and bring out A-list special guests galore and make a giant entertaining spectacle and it’ll all be completely polished and well-done. The only problem is, there’s nothing memorable or transcendent about ‘good’ Super Bowl Halftime Shows. Prince and Bruce Springsteen each did about as well as a Super Bowl performer could possibly aim for, and both performances still boiled down to just 12 pretty good minutes from musicians whose fans have assuredly seen them do far better 2-3 hour concerts on other occasions. The biggest standout moment was still Springsteen sliding into the camera. The only time we remember a Super Bowl Halftime Show is when it is memorably bad. That is to say,...

Taken in a vacuum, the bulk of Monday night's (October 11) NFL game between the New York Jets and the visiting Minnesota Vikings was pretty dull. For most of the game, the Jets quietly dominated the line of scrimmage and played stout defense while their offense had trouble getting into a groove (they mostly settled for field goals). But luckily, the internal drama unfolding within the game's four quarters made it one of the most entertaining and enthralling game on the sports landscape this year. Ultimately, the Jets topped the Vikings 29-20, but there's more to the game than the score.
There were plenty of story lines coming into the game, as Vikings wide receiver Randy Moss was making his return to the team after being traded from the New England Patriots, while Jets receiver Santonio Holmes was returning from a drug-related suspension. EA Sports put one big question to rest when they announced that "NBA Jam" would be available with "NBA Elite 11" for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 in addition to being sold on its own exclusively for the Wii. And while we know that Dennis Rodman, Magic Johnson and Larry Bird will appear in the game, we still don't know which unlockable celebrities in the tradition of Bill Clinton, George Clinton and Warren Moon will be included. Here are ten faces that EA should consider:

DirecTV's 4th annual Celebrity Beach Bowl was played Saturday, Feb. 6 in South Beach. Marisa Miller was named Mvp.

We're sure Tom Arnold did not mind tackling her to the ground either.
Other highlights included:
--Marlon Wayans hinted-at-didn't-quite-confirm-strongly-suggested he is playing comedian Richard Pryor in an upcoming bio picture.
--It was quite the Taylor Lautner show. The crowd wouldn't stop squealing for him and sportscaster Dan Patrick remarked, "I think if Taylor Lautner were out here by himself, that would be enough for this crowd."
--When Qb Warren Moon overthrew Taylor Lautner on a touchdown pass, Patrick also said, "Warren is judging werewolf speed and not Taylor speed."
At least Dan Patrick knows that Taylor is werewolf and not a vampire.
She only caught one pass, but for a skinny model playing against many former NFL players (and other big dudes, like Michael Clark Duncan and Kellan Lutz), Marisa Miller did pretty well.
