Maverick Films has acquired the action-thriller spec Top Ten With a Bullet from writing pair Lea McCormick and Tamara Adams for low- to mid-six figures. The project, which marks the duo's first spec sale, centers on a man and his three childhood friends who quit their dead-end jobs to hunt the serial killer responsible for the death of his sister in order to get revenge and earn a $5 million reward. At Maverick, Bullet will be produced by topper Guy Oseary, with production topper Mark Morgan executive producing. Former Acme Talent & Literary agents Kevin Cleary and Josh Morris, who recently departed the agency to join Maverick, also will produce. Cleary and Morris also have started a literary and intellectual property management company, Content House, representing screenwriters, books, comics and video games. McCormick and Adams are repped by Karen Abouab of 12Sixteen Management. Maverick Entertainment's first theatrical release, Agent Cody Banks, is due for release March 14. The company also is producing Queen of the Rodeo for Fox and Feels Like the First Time for Spyglass Entertainment.
