The Emmys’ In Memoriam segment Sunday left out a number of actors we lost in 2020, but the Television Academy hasn’t entirely overlooked them. Nick Cordero, Chi Chi DeVayne, Kobe Bryant, Shelley Morrison, Honor Blackman, and soap actors Roscoe Born, John Callahan, Marj Dusay and John Karlen are among the many names included in a more comprehensive roster on the Academy’s website.
Some of the names, including Morrison, actress Kelly Preston and Saturday Night Live‘s music producer Hal Willner, were represented in a not-particularly easy-to-read memorial segment during the Creative Arts ceremonies last week (see it below) but didn’t make the shorter roster on the Emmys broadcast Sunday.

Many TV legends and contributors were included for the “In Memoriam” segment on Sunday’s Primetime Emmy Awards ceremony for ABC. But producers are always forced to omit some of the 100+ insiders who died since the last ceremony. Who was left out of the group that was honored?
With dozens of television veterans having died since last year’s mid-September ceremony, people certainly included were these six TV Academy Hall of Fame members:
Diahann Carroll
Leonard Goldberg (executive at 20th Century Fox and ABC; producer of “Charlie’s Angels” and more)
Jim Lehrer (anchor/reporter of “MacNeil/Lehrer NewsHour)
Regis Philbin
Carl Reiner
Fred Silverman

Even though he wasn’t known for his TV work, blockbuster film actor Chadwick Boseman was featured in the final slot. NBA Hall of Famer Kobe Bryant was not mentioned, even though the event was being held in the Staples Center.

For Sunday’s Primetime Emmy Awards ceremony on ABC, producers will have the always difficult task of assembling a memoriam segment. Even though the event hosted by Jimmy Kimmel will be virtual, it’s a certainty they will include the popular “In Memoriam” on the show.

Shelley Morrison, best known for her role on NBC's Will & Grace, has died.
She was 83.
Morrison's publicist revealed to the Associated Press that the star died of heart failure on Sunday.
The actress was a fan-favorite on Will & Grace. Slated to appear in just one episode, she went on to appear on 68 episodes as Rosario, Karen's housekeeper.
This shows how much of an impact she made on the audience of the NBC comedy.
“Shelley’s greatest pride as an actress was in playing the indomitable Rosario, in a comedy series that furthered the cause of social equity and fairness for Lgbtq people. "She also took pride in portraying a strong, loving yet feisty Latina character,” her husband of 46 years, Walter Dominguez, said in a statement.

Shelley Morrison, who passed away Sunday at the age of 83, was best known for playing Karen Walker’s (Megan Mullally) opinionated maid Rosario Salazar during the original run of the Emmy-winning NBC comedy.
Morrison made her debut as Rosario in the season one finale. Megan Mullally returned to “Will & Grace” this past season and snagged yet another Emmy nomination for Best Comedy Supporting Actress. A two-time winner during the show’s original run (2000 and 2006), Mullally reprised her role as narcissistic socialite Karen Walker for the NBC revival.
In “Rosario’s Quinceañera,” the episode Mullally submitted to Emmy voters for consideration, Karen mourns the loss of her longtime maid Rosario (played by Shelley Morrison in previous seasons) after she dies in the hospital following a collapse in Karen’s home. In her process of grief she forces Jack (Sean Hayes) to sing and dance for her in the bar next door to the funeral home. And in a private conversation with Rosario’s casket, Karen admits she was her best friend.
Can Mullally win for this episode? Let’s dive into the pros and cons.

The network television climate of 2018 is marked by a couple of key trends: An often-too-incremental but real movement, pushed along by voices in the media and among fans, towards greater inclusivity onscreen, and a flood of reboots and revivals from the semi-recent past.
But those two trends tend to run in direct opposition to one another, as recent panels at the TCAs proved. Two shows returning to CBS this fall, “Murphy Brown” and “Magnum P.I.,” as well as a reboot of “Charmed” on the CW, promise, with varying degrees of credibility, to address the times in which we live, a promise also made by last season’s revivals of “Will & Grace” and “Roseanne.” Both of those sitcoms fell short, ultimately, and judging by the panel for “Magnum,” which bobbled the question of inclusivity in the writers’ room, hope is not high for the new crop. These shows may have some new faces,...

If the Best Comedy Supporting Actress Emmy race came down to two former champs in revivals, Megan Mullally (“Will & Grace”) has a better shot of winning than Laurie Metcalf (“Roseanne”), our readers believe.
Mullally received 68 percent of the vote to 32 percent for Metcalf, which might be a bit surprising considering Metcalf’s banner year with an Oscar nomination and a Tony win. But Mullally, a two-time winner for “Will & Grace,” now has the second most nominations in the category at eight. She was the only main cast member to earn a nomination for the revival, which grabbed just five nominations.
Under the old tape system, Mullally might be a lock with her submission, “Rosario’s Quinceanera, in which her longtime maid Rosario (Shelley Morrison) dies. Mullally gets to be funny, sympathetic, and delivers a moving speech to Rosario’s casket.

The Best Comedy Supporting Actress Emmy field features two contenders, Megan Mullally and Laurie Metcalf, with very similar profiles: Both are multiple Emmy champs and fan-favorite scene-stealers who are back in the Emmy game as the only regular acting nominees of their respective revivals. But who has the better chance of winning?
Mullally bagged her eighth nomination — the second most ever in the category — for reprising her role as Karen Walker on NBC’s “Will & Grace” revival. The show, which has been renewed for two more seasons, had a disappointing Emmy nomination performance, netting just five nominations, with Mullally the only one of the core four stars to be shortlisted (Molly Shannon also received a guest nomination).

Kate McKinnon (“Saturday Night Live”) is the favorite to win her third straight Emmy for Best Comedy Supporting Actress, but she needs to watch out for another former champ gunning for her third statuette: Megan Mullally.
The “Will & Grace” star is in second place in our combined odds and is the pick of two of our Experts, Mathew Jacobs (Huffington Post) and Debbie Day (Rotten Tomatoes). Mullally was nominated seven times during “Will & Grace”’s original eight-year run, triumphing in 2000 and 2006. She is the only one of the show’s main quartet to win more than one Emmy.
See You only think half the ‘Will & Grace’ cast will get Emmy nominations
The revival gave Mullally some great material, specifically killing off Karen’s longtime put-upon maid Rosario (Shelley Morrison). Mullally delivered a moving, funny eulogy for Rosie and if tapes still mattered, that would’ve been more than enough to clinch it.

When Shelley Morrison starred as Rosario Salazar on Will & Grace for 15 years from 1991 until 2006, she gained more than just a successful TV show on her resume — she found a best friend in co-star Megan Mullally. In fact, Shelley and Megan's professional relationship quickly turned into a close friendship when the now 81-year-old actress was diagnosed with cancer not once, but twice, during the hit series' run. "She really helped, and I’ll never forget how she was there for me. Megan’s my heart. She's been a good friend," Shelley recalled in an exclusive new interview with Closer Weekly, adding that Megan, 59, once personally drove her to the doctor when she experienced some medical complications. Shelley was first diagnosed with breast cancer in 1988 and underwent a lumpectomy to treat the disease. Her breast cancer sadly returned in 1998 and she subsequently had a full mastectomy. We knew they were on to a winner when a Will & Grace revival was announced, and now it seems the producers knew it too. What started as a ten-minute webisode urging the American public to vote in the 2016 Us election has now transformed into one of the greatest TV show comebacks of its age — that's now been renewed for Season 3! Not only has it been renewed for a third season (or eleventh, if you're counting the original run), but both seasons two and three are expanding. Originally sitting at 13 episodes, NBC has now ordered an additional five, bringing the total to 18 episodes for each season. With the final two episodes of the first season still yet to air, the confident renewal for a third only speaks of good things to come. Its original eight-season run from 1998-2006 saw Will & Grace pick up a huge 16 Emmy Awards. And since its return,...

Jennifer Lopez is heading back to “Will & Grace,” and this time she’ll be performing two different roles, TheWrap has learned. The singer and actress will appear both as herself and as her “Shades of Blue” character detective, Harlee Santos. Lopez first guest starred on “Will & Grace” in two Season 6 episodes, in which she played herself and performed at Karen’s (Megan Mullally) wedding. In that plot-line, Lopez apparently grew up with Karen’s maid, Rosario (Shelley Morrison), in the Bronx....

‘The Orville,’ ‘Young Sheldon’ and Which New Shows You Should Cut or Keep Watching — Updated Reviews
As fall transitions into winter, TV seasons change with the weather. It feels like just yesterday, the internet was abuzz with anticipation for a slew of new fall shows. “The Orville,” “Young Sheldon,” “The Good Doctor,” and more are all shows that feel like they just started, and in a way, they did; September wasn’t that long ago. But after seeing anywhere from seven to 12 total episodes of each series, opinions change and decisions have to be made.
Winter is coming: More new shows are on the way, and keeping up with everything isn’t an option. So it’s time to make cuts, starting with the new broadcast series that have aired enough episodes to be assessed properly. We know what they are now. Here’s what we think.

Adios, Rosario. As the promos for Thursday’s Will & Grace had so heavily hinted, Karen’s maid, sparring partner and mother figure didn’t survive the fall finale.
Sure, “Rosario’s Quinceanera” started off frisky and funny, with Karen assuming that, since her cleaning lady had gone Awol, it must be “Maids Eat Free Day at Applebee’s” or something. And when Rosario finally phoned, her boss turned the snark up to 11, warning that she’d “better be in the hospital.” The thing was, she was — she’d had a heart attack!

31 years ago today, audiences journeyed to the year 2029 then back to the ’80s as a Terminator hunted down Sarah Connor, seemingly an ordinary woman but actually the all-important mother of the leader in the fight for the survival of the human race. “The Terminator” opened in theaters on October 26, 1984. The sci-fi action movie was No. 1 at the box office for its first two weeks in theaters. It has since spawned four sequels, several video games, action figures and theme park rides and was selected by the Library of Congress for preservation in the American National Film Registry. Will & Grace actress Megan Mullally has secretly wed her long term love Nick Offerman in Los Angeles on Saturday. The helium-voiced star - who plays bitchy Karen Walker in the Emmy winning show - was joined by co-stars Debra Messing, Eric McCormack and Sean Hayes at the romantic ceremony. And the 45-year old took the opportunity to break the news at the glitzy awards ceremony on Sunday night by telling loose-lipped co-star Shelley Morrison all about her nuptials. Morrison told reporters, "I've got a big scoop for you guys. Megan Mullally got married last night. Hand to God. It was very private. (Megan) came running up the aisle (saying), 'I got married last night.' I asked Nick, 'True?' He said, 'True.'" The marriage is Mullally's second - she was previously wed to talent agent Michael Katcher.

Will & Grace star Shelley Morrison insists she blacked out in a department store and can't remember stealing "tacky jewelry". The actress was arrested earlier this year and charged with shoplifting after a trip to buy a new pair of shoes in a Beverly Hills Robinsons May store turned into an embarrassing incident. Morrison, who plays maid Rosario in the hit sitcom, says, "I don't know why I did it. I remember buying the shoes and I remember walking outside and having three security people starting to yell at me to take off my jacket. They were taking these tacky things out of my jacket.
