In 1961, 'Joe Connelly (I)' and Bob Mosher co-wrote a cartoon series called "Calvin and the Colonel" which featured animals playing all the characters. This was an attempt to revive "Amos 'n' Andy" in the guise of animals. "Amos 'n' Andy" creators Freeman F. Gosden and Charles J. Correll provided the voices.
In 1968, he wrote the teleplay for an unsold sitcom pilot for CBS called "Harry and David" which concerned the humorous adventures of two orphans who live with their grandfather in Canada in the years immediately following the American Civil War.
