- In 2005, Landis was honored by the UCLA School of Theater, Film and Television as a Distinguished Alumni, and in 2006, she delivered the prestigious William Randolph Hearst lecture at the University of Texas, Austin. The William Randolph Hearst Fellow Award honors individuals whose distinguished careers in communication make them outstanding role models for students.
- Landis will be a Juror at the Short Film & Cinefondation Jury at the 60th Anniversary of the Cannes Film Festival 2007. She is only the second costume designer to be so honored; in 1996 Costume Deisgner Eiko Ishioka was also a Juror.

- (1994 to 1995 season) She was Chinese costume designer for Lisa Loomer's play, "The Waiting Room," at the Trinity Repertory Company Theatre in Providence, Rhode Island with June Kyokolu, Anne Scurria, Rose Weaver, Janice Duclos, William Damkoehler, Ed Shea, Stephen Berenson, Dan Welch, Chil King, Gabriel Diamond and Robert Grady in the cast. Davis Schweizer was director. Michael McGarty was set designer. William Lane was costume designer. Russell H. Champa was lighting designer. Jon Gottlieb and Mitchell Greenwhill were sound designers. Mitchell Greenhill was composer. Tori Haring-Smith was Dramaturge.
