- Deep, authoritative voice
- Was best known as the voice of Inspector Koichi Zenigata in the Lupin III anime franchise which he has done for 41 years until he retired from the role.
- Older brother of Rokurô Naya.
- Voiced Sam the Eagle in the Japanese dub of 'The Muppet Show', alongside Yasuo Yamada as Kermit the Frog.
- He attended Yasuo Yamada's funeral. When he saw Yamada's picture, Naya tearfully said in his Zenigata voice, "Hey, Lupin, who should I chase from now on? Who should I chase if you die?".
- Because I'm an actor, I thought it was my job to act in various ways according to the role I was given. That's why I never thought of myself as a voice actor.
- Zenigata never gets old, but I get older year by year, so it's a little bit difficult to match.
