On an overcast morning in 1999, William Gibson, father of cyberpunk and author of the cult-classic novel Neuromancer, stepped into a limousine and set off on a road trip around North America. The limo was rigged with digital cameras, a computer, a television.

British documentarian Mark Neale found a perfect conceptual approach to this wide-ranging visit with the founding father of "cyberpunk" science fiction: On a rainy day in 1999, and for several sessions afterwards, Neale drove Gibson around various North American locations in a limousine equipped with sound...

Charge opens with the noise, velocity, and adrenaline of the Isle of Man's Tt motorcycle race, a 37-mile mountain course taken at speeds of 200 mph. But this story is about the Tt's zero-emissions grand prix, a looming folly. Even some proponents of the 2009 experiment seemed circumspect, and fans raged. People come to the Tt "to see hard men ride hard motorcycles, not piss about on battery-powered scrap," rants one pub-goer. These are quiet bikes—birds smash into them!—that in the first year couldn't approach 100 mph. The riders marvel at the scenery, which blurs by in regular races. But documentarian Mark Neale, with drama provided by narrator Ewan McGregor and editor Rochelle Watson, shows there's no dearth of adrenaline as engineering teams face challenges every ...

Who’s fastest? That’s the question explored in the latest MotoGP documentary from filmmaker Mark Neale, his follow-up to Faster and The Doctor, The Tornado and the Kentucky Kid. Motorsports have been featured in a few docs recently, with TT3D: Closer to the Edge and Senna having been released in the last year or so. Great timing, then, for the release of Fastest.
The film opens with a breathtaking final lap from a MotoGP race. The two lead riders enter the final lap neck and neck. Trading the lead several times, they keep the crowd guessing until the very final corner. To a viewer more accustomed to Formula 1, where races are generally won through tactics and track conditions, and overtaking is a rare and precious thing, it is a revelation.

Warwickshire bike racer Cal Crutchlow joined fellow riders including Bradley Smith, Chaz Davies and Eugene Laverty at the premiere of new film Fastest.
Several sports presenters and a capacity audience of over 1,200 MotoGP fans, including Keith Flint of The Prodigy, also attended today's event at the Empire Leicester Square, London, which was hosted by Eurosport commentator Toby Moody.

A sequel to petrol-head hit Faster, and shot around the world in 2010 and 2011, Fastest distils the thrills of the MotoGP World Championship into a maximum-speed, full-length documentary feature. It's directed by Mark Neale and narrated by actor and motorbike enthusiast Ewan McGregor.
