- Ray Nitschke was born in Elmwood Park, Illinois. His Father passed away when he was 3, and his Mother passed away when he was 13. He grew up a Chicago Bears fan, but quickly learn to hate them after being drafted by the Green Bay Packers in the third round of 1958.
