- Werner Nold was born December 19, 1933 in Samedan, Switzerland. In 1955, in his 20s, he immigrated to Quebec, Canada. Hired by the National Film Board of Canada in 1961, Nold worked on over 100 films over a 35 year span. Named a Member of the Order of Canada in 1984. For his contributions to the cinema of Quebec, in 2010 he was awarded the Prix Albert-Tessier from the government of Quebec.
