Greyhound will see Tom Hanks return to the backdrop of World War II; an arena in which he has excelled, both onscreen in 1998’s Saving Private Ryan and offscreen as executive producer of HBO miniseries offerings Band of Brothers and The Pacific. Here Hanks serves as star, writer, and producer for the Sony film, tackling a different aspect of the war, the seas, with a story centered on an international convoy of Allied ships, racing across North Atlantic seas filled with Nazi U-boats.
Greyhound is an adaptation of the novel, The Good Shepherd, by C.S. Forester. It’s a World War II-set drama, following a Navy officer (Hanks) who finally gets to command a destroyer, but has to get on top of his personal doubts and demons as he does so.

"The wolf pack's hunting us." Sony Pictures has revealed the first official trailer for a WWII naval action movie titled Greyhound, which is also the name of the ship that leads the way in this story (in case you're wondering why it's called Greyhound). Inspired by actual events, the screenplay is written by Tom Hanks, who also stars in this as Captain Ernest Krause. He leads an Allied convoy of 37 ships being stalked by Nazi U-boat wolf packs across the North Atlantic ocean towards the UK. The full cast includes Elisabeth Shue, Stephen Graham, Manuel Garcia-Rulfo, Maximilian Osinski, Lee Norris, Rob Morgan, Devin Druid, Michael Benz, and Matthew Zuk. This is now set to open in theaters everywhere in the middle of June this summer. Lots of CG naval warfare shots in this trailer, but it still looks super intense. As expected. Here's the first official trailer (+ poster) for Aaron Schneider's Greyhound,...

Things are seriously beginning to heat up on The Walking Dead season 8.
Coming out of last night’s appropriately titled “Monsters,” in which the communities of Alexandria, the Hilltop, and the Kingdom were at odds with one another, Norman Reedus has addressed the tension that seems to be festering between Rick and his right-hand man, Daryl Dixon.
Still licking his wounds – both physical and mental – from that grueling spell of torture in season 7, we know that Daryl is thirsting for revenge in The Walking Dead season 8, which goes some way to explaining why he defied Rick’s orders and shot Todd (Lee Norris) in “Monsters.”
It’s a pretty shocking moment by anyone’s standards, and it even came up in conversation during Talking Dead, in which host Chris Hardwick quizzed Reedus about Daryl’s motivations. And let’s just say Rick and Daryl, arguably the two pillars of AMC’s apocalyptic flagship,...

Up until The Social Network (2010), when a version of this article first appeared, David Fincher was, moderately, a creature of habit when it came to casting. Certain character actors would pop up in miniature roles in more than one film though only one star was a recurring lead (Brad Pitt). Since then it's been more of a free for all with (mostly) new faces in his films.
For Gone Girl it's all new faces but for three men who you'll miss if you blink:
Darin Cooper, Brett Leigh, and Lee Norris
Brett Leigh appears as a nervous intern (he was previously a Phoenix Club hazer in The Social Network); Lee Norris, best known for "One Tree Hill" and "Boy Meets World," shows up as "Officer Washington" after a gig in Zodiac; and Darin Cooper, who played one of Facebook's lawyers in The Social Network, returns as "Moustached Man"

Cory Matthews’ bespectacled nemesis Stuart Minkus is returning to his world this Friday — but don’t ready your paper airplanes just yet.

Cory and Topanga are here to stay, at least for another year: The Disney Channel has picked up Girl Meets World for a second season.
Girl Meets World is a spin-off of the popular ’90s sitcom Boy Meets World, a show that followed the lives of Cory (Ben Savage), Topanga (Danielle Fishel), and their friends and family as they grew up together. Savage and Fishel reprise their roles as Cory and Topanga in Girl Meets World as the parents of middle schooler Riley (Rowan Blanchard).
The spin-off, developed by Boy Meets World creators April Kelly and Michael Jacobs, has become the No.

Stuart Minkus was perhaps the most memorable character from the first season of "Boy Meets World." Cory was neurotic but normal; Topanga was a space cadet; Mr. Feeny wasn't a glorious sage yet. Minkus, meanwhile, dominated his scenes with smart-aleck comic asides and an unforgettable speaking voice. We've missed him. Now, 20 years later, he's back in the spinoff series "Girl Meets World" as a relative of the new show's Minkus proxy Farkle. Of course! Check out the above clip to see how Minkus (Lee Norris) has aged since his days as a sixth grade snob.

I’m on the record as being ambivalent about Girl Meets World, Disney Channel’s highly enthusiastically ridiculously anticipated sequel/spinoff to millennial favorite Boy Meets World. (I also take full responsibility for helping to stoke that fervor for the past year and a half.) On one hand: Nostalgia! On the other: This is clearly a series meant for viewers born after the original show ended in the year 2000, and if you’re not one of them, watching it will make you feel old. The show’s bright colors, broad jokes, and earnest lessons all scream “modern-day Disney,” and it...
