Paul Simms, the creator of the NBC comedy NewsRadio and currently showrunner on FX’s What We Do in the Shadows and an executive producer on Atlanta, will be this year’s recipient of the WGA East’s Herb Sargent Award for Comedy Excellence. The honor will be presented by Atlanta‘s Donald Glover at the 75th annual Writers Guild Awards ceremony March 5 at New York’s Edison Ballroom.
“I’m deeply honored to receive the Herb Sargent Award and truly grateful to the writers I’ve worked with over the years,” Simms said. “Without their input, I’m not even capable of coming up with a funny quote, and I look forward to their assessments of all the various ways this quote you’re reading right now missed the mark and could have been better.”
Simms joined the guild in 1990 as a writer for Late Night with David Letterman.

Lionsgate has released a new red-band film clip for Conan the Barbarian. The clip shows us a young Conan warrior who is attacked, and brutally fights off a gang of savages. I will say, this kid that plays Conan in this clip comes off as being a complete badass. This is actually the best thing I've seen from the film so far from the film. The R-rated fantasy action film hits 3D and 2D theaters on August 19th. Check out the clip and tell us what you think!
The film was directed by Marcus Nispel, and stars Jason Momoa, Rachel Nichols, Stephen Lang, Rose McGowan, Saïd Taghmaoui, Ron Perlman, Leo Howard, Steve O'Donnell, Raad Rawi Fassir, Nonso Anozie, Bob Sapp and Milton Welsh.

"Barbarian!" "I want your head!" Yes, we've seen quite a bit from this already, but how about another quick 30 seconds of "ultra-violent" carnage from Conan the Barbarian? The new red band TV spot popped up on the official UK Facebook page for Marcus Nispel's Conan the Barbarian, starring Jason Momoa as Conan and, featured heavily in this, Stephen Lang as the badass villain Khalar Zym. It does feature quite a bit of blood and gore, which is awesome, because I think this looks like a bloody good time. If you've been waiting to see some violence from this, then watch this, it'll definitely up your daily beheading quota. Enjoy! Lionsgate has released a new red-band trailer for Conan the Barbarian. It features a lot head bashing and gut slashing. I still haven't made up my mind about this movie, just because there a lot of violence with CGI blood doesn't mean it's gonna be a good movie, but maybe it will be entertaining.

Enter An Age Undreamed Of. Whoa, what a tagline. Fandango has premiered the final official poster for Lionsgate's Conan the Barbarian, directed by Marcus Nispel and starring Jason Momoa as Conan. We've seen a lot of trailers (red band) and posters for this already, and most seem to think it looks bad, but I'm going to say that I really love this final poster. It just has that epic, badass look and the characters are arranged in a classic 80's-action-movie kind of way. I'm sure some will disagree with me, as always, but out of all the posters we've seen for Conan, this is definitely one of the better ones. Check this out in full below! "When he feels thirst - it is the thirst for blood." His name is Conan. Hell yes it is! Our friends at HeyUGuys have dug up the latest official UK trailer for Lionsgate's Conan the Barbarian movie, starring Jason Momoa as Conan and Stephen Lang as the evil Khalar Zym. We've seen a few trailers already, including a bloody red band trailer most recently, but I think this is the best one yet, as we get a sense of backstory and it's just cut together incredibly well. I just think this is looking more and more polished, like the epic Conan movie I know everyone wants to see. Looking better or are opinions still split? Give this trailer another shot! Here's what you need to know about the new red-band trailer for Conan the Barbarian: there is a shot in which Conan (Jason Momoa) knocks out a horse with a giant chain. There is also a lot of blood, a total absence of plot, a little bit of almost safe for work sex, and the worst piece of electro-tinged cock rock to hit a trailer in months. Sound good? Then hit the jump to learn what a barbarian wants when he is thirsty. (Hint: it's not what plants crave.) IGN [1] has the trailer: Conan the Barbarian was directed by Marcus Nispel and also stars Rachel Nichols, Stephen Lang, Rose McGowan, Saïd Taghmaoui, Ron Perlman, Leo Howard, Steve O'Donnell, Raad Rawi Fassir, Nonso Anozie, Bob Sapp and Milton Welsh. Original director Christopher Barry could not include The Doctor as a character for the original release due to rights issues, but this seems to be getting remedied now for a revised version of the tale, which featured the late Nicholas Courtney as The Brig, Elisabeth Sladen as Sarah Jane Smith and Deborah Watling as Victoria Waterfield.
We're assured by Sylvester McCoy that the rather scruffy-looking table in the picture will end up CGI'd into the Tardis centre console, with suitable background dropped into where the green screen currently is.
