The story of an old woman’s New Year’s Eve lanterns, which may possess magical powers, has as much appeal as a screensaver
A moderate cartoon feature about an old lady called Olistene (voiced by Nicole Oliver) in a fairytale village who has the beginnings of Parkinson’s (the “shaking sickness”). She is to have a fateful connection with a hapless young man who is a gambling addict; he’s been betting all his money on pig races, and his wife has left him for a baker.
Basically, this is what you might call landfill animation: the type of uninteresting production-line feature made possible by advances in digital technology. Its only purpose can really be to keep very little children pacified, with designs for human faces that are frankly lacking much imagination. They look like bland digital blobs.

We meet Phil McGuire (Greg Kinnear) exiting his parked car while still in traffic to climb up a bridge railing. It’s a one hundred-plus foot drop into the water and he imagines taking the plunge before a group of teens with cellphones outstretched jolt him from the morbid sensation with excitable demands that he jump so they can enjoy the carnage. That’s a bold tonal mood on behalf of screenwriter Stephen Mazur and director Kinnear (his debut) because there’s actual dejection on their faces upon realizing Phil won’t comply with their Faces of Death desire to go viral. Here’s a man in obvious psychological pain and we’re asked to shrug the situation off for the first of many cheap laughs in a film that otherwise attempts heartfelt empathy.
I do believe Phil means well, but its script constantly undercuts that desire so its situational...

Britney Spears' turbulent life in the spotlight is the focus of a new Lifetime biopic, Britney Ever After. The extended trailer shows how Spears' (portrayed by actress Natasha Bassett) tender days as a teenage pop superstar devolved into chaos. As Bassett's Spears states in a blunt Louisiana drawl: "I'm not gonna sugarcoat it and say I was fine."
The trailer teases some of the most infamous moments from Spears' chaotic years such as shaving her head, taking an umbrella to a car, her marriage to Kevin Federline and controversial performance at the 2007 VMAs.

Mark Pellegrino certainly loves playing Lucifer in the series "Supernatural." In “Repo Man” he is back to treat viewers to his larger than life portrayal of the Devil. This time around, the gusto he puts into each appearance becomes far more memorable than the episode’s tale itself.
But for continuity trackers, this episode looks back at a job the Winchester boys did four years ago. Nora Havelock (Nicole Oliver), a white witch who helped lead the brothers to a possessed young man, Jeffrey (Russell Sams). The exorcism they conducted was seemingly successful, but when the episode moves back to the present, the job they did was not nicely wrapped up.

While "The Vampire Diaries" and "The Secret Circle" provided fans with cast previews of their episodes this week, "Supernatural" is going old school with the usual producer's preview. Watch Robert Singer discuss the dangerous line Sam walks to solve an old case.
"Supernatural" Episode 7.15 "Repo Man" (2/17/12 Air Date; 9:00-10:00 Pm):
Double Trouble — Four years ago, Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles) helped a woman named Nora (guest star Nicole Oliver) exorcise a demon that was systematically killing women in a small town. They managed to save a postal worker, Jeffrey (guest star Russell Sams), while vanquishing the demon, but now it seems the black-eyed monster has reared his ugly head and returned for a second helping.
The brothers visit Jeffrey, who has been locked in a psych ward since the incident, to see if he can remember any of the demon’s plans while he was possessed.

Director: Mike Rohl.
Writers: Andrew Dabb and Daniel Loflin.
The clock, as well as this season, is running haywire in "Supernatural’s" latest episode, "Plucky Pennywhistle's Magical Menagerie." Here, Sam and Dean have to deal with some strange magic where half the story is told in flashback. The jumping around is fine as a narrative structure, and if that is supposed to mean something, not many viewers will think it’s related to the fact that the Winchesters are still a fixed point in time even when they are miles apart.
With this episode, Sam has to face his darkest fear alone. Dean has to contend with a silent avenger—with his own set of problems—who may be lurking about in Plucky’s, a Chuck E. Cheese-style entertainment parlor.
With this episode, the emphasis is more about character development than the lackluster comedy. The brothers are obviously being prepped for the grand finale.

Supernatural took us into the depths of monster-of-the-week adventures last week in “Plucky Pennywhistle’s Magical Menagerie”.
Unlike “The Slice Girls”, which teased the return of Bobby (Jim Beavers) or Castiel (Misha Collins) with a ghostly intervention, “Plucky Pennywhistle’s Magical Menagerie” was a total one-off episode. It gave us a chance to revisit Sam’s (Jared Padalecki) fear of clowns and simultaneously gave Dean (Jensen Ackles) a chance to apologize for inadvertently causing Sam’s fear.
It was a fun episode, but raise your hand if you want to get back to the Leviathan story or revisit some other parts of the Supernatural mythos.
In Episode 7.15, “Repo Man”, Supernatural will do just that with the return of Mark Pellegrino as Lucifer. He’s back to torment Sam as the little demon voice on his shoulder. Also, we’ll be revisiting a story from four years ago, where Sam And...

But in the February 17 episode of Supernatural, Sam's fears are once again explored. The episode, titled "Repo Men", takes us into a previously unseen case from the Winchesters past.
