Netflix’s Stranger Things is undoubtedly a pop-culture phenomenon and one of the most popular series that the streaming service released. Ever. A dash of 80s nostalgia combined with a great cast and superb writing, mixing fantasy, horror, sci-fi, and drama, Stranger Things is a series that will definitely go down in history due to the cultural impact it had, but also because it cemented Netflix as one of the major players in the industry.

After being delayed several months by the writers strike and the actors strike, season 5 of the hit Netflix series Stranger Things finally went into production at the start of the year and is now three months into its twelve month shooting schedule… but in the midst of filming, Finn Wolfhard is also doing the press rounds to promote the Ghostbusters: Afterlife sequel Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire, which is set to reach theatres on March 22nd. An interview with The Hollywood Reporter was part of his press tour, and during that conversation, Wolfhard was asked about the ongoing production of Stranger Things season 5, which will also be the final season of the show. Since this is how it wraps up, it seems fitting that Wolfhard said it will be a return of the dynamics of the first season.

After being delayed several months by the writers strike and the actors strike, season 5 of the hit Netflix series Stranger Things finally went into production at the start of the year – and it’s going to continue making its way through production for quite a while longer, as new cast member Linda Hamilton has said that filming is going to take an entire year. So we’re not going to see this season, which is the final season of the show, until sometime in 2025… and star Millie Bobby Brown is looking forward to the premiere date with excitement, because she says the final episodes are going to be “unbelievable.”
Speaking with Screen Rant, Brown said, “There’s not much I can tease, but I know everybody’s super excited. I just think if you’ve loved the seasons before, you trust the Duffers. They’re geniuses, and they’ll bring it like no other.

After being delayed several months by the writers strike and the actors strike, season 5 of the hit Netflix series Stranger Things finally went into production at the start of the year – but if you were hoping that might mean the new episodes will be available to watch on Netflix by the end of 2024, or even at the beginning of 2025, new cast member Linda Hamilton is here to dash those hopes. While speaking to Business Insider, Hamilton said Stranger Things season 5 will be filming for an entire year!
Hamilton said, “It’s a year of shooting, so I couldn’t be happier. Their season takes a year to shoot, which is just an unheard-of luxury of time. But the size of their day is also so beyond any scale that we’re used to.“

One of the new characters introduced in season 4 of the hit Netflix series Stranger Things was Argyle, a pothead delivery boy for Surfer Boy Pizza who helps some of the returning characters get from California back to their hometown of Hawkins, Indiana. But if you were hoping to see actor Eduardo Franco reprise the role of Argyle in Stranger Things season 5, which will be the final season of the show… well, it sounds like you’re in for disappointment. During an interview on the Steve Varley YouTube channel, Franco said it doesn’t look like he’ll be back for the new season.
Varley told Franco that fans got concerned when they saw he was absent from the cast picture Netflix released to celebrate the start of production on Stranger Things season 5, saying, “(Fans are) they’re thinking you’re not in the season. Can you give us hopes that you are?...

After an eight month delay that was caused by the writers strike, the actors strike, and the holiday break, Stranger Things season 5 – which is the last season of the hit Netflix series – has finally gone into production. A couple days ago, Netflix celebrated the start of production by sharing a behind-the-scenes picture of the cast hanging out with series creators the Duffer Brothers, and now they have gone a step further by sharing a picture of Maya Hawke and Joe Keery on set, back in character as Robin Buckley and Steve Harrington! The fifth and final season of the hit Netflix series Stranger Things was just about to start filming when the writers strike hit back in May. A couple months into that strike, the Screen Actors Guild also went on strike – and while the writers strike ended in September, the actors strike continued on into November. The fifth and final season of the hit Netflix series Stranger Things was just about to start filming when the writers strike hit back in May. But now that the writers strike – and the actors strike that followed it – has come to an end, series creators The Duffer Brothers are preparing to head into production on Stranger Things season 5 at the start of January. But as they get ready to start filming, they took a moment to talk to The Guardian… and while the conversation was primarily about the stage play Stranger Things: The First Shadow, they also mentioned that the new season of the show will be like “season 1 on steroids” and the biggest the show has ever been.

But first he had to make an appearance at Motor City Comic Con, and during the show he confirmed that season 5 has “a very real ending” that wraps up the story.

The fifth and final season of the hit Netflix series Stranger Things was supposed to go into production right around the time the writers strike hit earlier this year – so it had to be put on hold, and then there was another reason for it to stay on hold when the actors strike hit. When the writers strike ended in September, finishing the Stranger Things season 5 scripts was one of Netflix’s top priorities. And now that the actors strike has come to an end, Stranger Things season 5 is finally about to head into production. In fact, cast member David Harbour says it’s going to start filming in just a couple days!
Variety caught to Harbour at a BoxLunch Gala honoring Feeding America. When asked what comes first on his post-strike agenda, he said, “I mean, we got to film that last season of Stranger Things, don’t we?...

Season 5 of the hit Netflix series Stranger Things is also going to be the final season of the show. It was supposed to be deep into production by now, but it has been slowed down due to the Hollywood strikes – first the writers strike, then the ongoing actors strike. It remains to be seen when filming is going to begin, but yesterday, November 6, 2023, was the 40th anniversary of the day Will Byers went missing in the town of Hawkins, Indiana in the first season of Stranger Things. So the show’s writers marked the occasion by sharing the first lines from the first episode of season 5 on social media:

A few months ago, it was announced that 10 Cloverfield Lane and Prey director Dan Trachtenberg will be directing an episode of Stranger Things season 5 – which also happens to be the final season of the hugely popular Netflix streaming series. That season was supposed to be deep into production by now, but has been delayed several months due to the writers and actors strikes. The writers strike recently ended, now we just need the actors strike to come to an end so Stranger Things can get rolling. While waiting for his chance to report to the Stranger Things set, Trachtenberg has been doing the press rounds to promote the physical media release of his Predator movie Prey… and during a conversation with Collider, he talked about signing on to bring an episode of Stranger Things to the screen and working with the show’s creators The Duffer Brothers.

Season 5 of the Netflix series Stranger Things – which also happens to be the final season of the show – was supposed to be a couple months into filming at this point. But production was delayed by the writers strike, then the writers were joined on the picket lines by members of the Screen Actors Guild. So it’s going to be a little while before this season finally gets up and running. While we wait for the strikes to be resolved, Stranger Things creators Duffer Brothers have gone ahead and revealed that the character of Will Byers, played by Noah Schnapp, will be taking center stage in this last season.

“Stranger Things” the series is heading for its finale, but “Stranger Things” the franchise will continue. As fans wait to hear when the fifth and final season of the sci-fi show will launch in 2024, the first spinoff has been announced: an animated series also on Netflix.
Netflix revealed very little info — there’s no title, logline, or premiere date — for the upcoming project. The series is described as being set “within” the universe of “Stranger Things,” so it’s presumably not just an animated adaptation of the O.G. and instead will tell its own story.
The series will be animated by Flying Bark Productions, the Australian studio behind Marvel cartoons like “What If?” and “Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur.” Eric Robles is developing the show and will executive produce for Flying Bark Productions. Matt and Ross Duffer, the brothers who created and showrun “Stranger Things,” will executive produce for their Upside Down Pictures banner,...

The Netflix series Stranger Things will soon be heading into production on its fifth and final season – so soon that David Harbour, who plays Jim Hopper on the show, will be working on both Stranger Things and the Marvel movie Thunderbolts at the same time in Atlanta this year. And cast member Sadie Sink is not looking forward to the show ending, saying that the idea of Stranger Things coming to an end is “scary and sad”.

Stranger Things creators Matt and Ross Duffer have expanded on what fans can expect from the fifth and final season of their ’80s-set Netflix phenomenon.
The twin filmmakers were asked, during a Sunday night panel at the streamer’s Tudum Theater in Los Angeles, if there are new ’80s pop culture influences that will shape the final season, in the way that A Nightmare on Elm Street and its villain Freddy Kreuger shaped this summer’s two-part Season 4.
“[Season] 5, the way we see it, is kind of a culmination of all the seasons, so it’s got a little bit from each,” Ross Duffer told a packed house. “I think that what we’re trying to do is go back to the beginning a little bit, in sort of the tone of 1. But also scale-wise, it’s more aligned with what 4 is. So, hopefully, it’s got a little bit of everything.

This article contains spoilers for Stranger Things season 4 volume 1.
From Game of Thrones’ chilling Night King to The Witcher’s creatures and corpses, makeup effects artist Barrie Gower has been behind some of television’s most indelible supernatural creations.
When Stranger Things creators Matt and Ross Duffer approached Gower to work on the show’s fourth season, however, they had another, less expected, example of his recent TV classics in mind.
“They had just seen some of our work in Chernobyl for HBO and they were fans of our work doing the radiation burn victims,” Gower tells Den of Geek about the Duffers’ pitch.
The Duffers’ interest in one of Gower’s more reality-based (but no less grim) makeup work is the first step towards truly understanding why Upside Down monster Vecna has left an impression with Stranger Things viewers. Unlike previous villains the Demogorgon and The Mind Flayer, Vecna is a human creation.

“Stranger Things 4” viewership has been so strong it’s spooky. The fourth season of Eleven & friends’ sci-fi exploits just broke the “Bridgerton” Season 2 record for most hours viewed within a show’s first 28 days and it only needed 17 days to do it. Through those two-and-a-half weeks, “Stranger Things” Season 4 amassed 781.04 million hours viewed, according to Netflix’s own internal tally. (“Stranger Things 4” added another 159.24 million hours this past week.)
Not only did “Stranger Things” Season 4 not require the full four weeks to shatter the previously-held English-language TV record, it also didn’t need its final two supersized episodes to do it. Those, which include the nearly two-and-a-half-hour season finale, drop July 1; the first seven episodes of the penultimate season landed on Netflix May 27.
Last week, “Stranger Things 4” ranked third all-time (with 621.80 million hours viewed) on Netflix’s Most Popular TV (English) list, behind Season 1 of Shonda Rhimes’ “Bridgerton” (625.49 million) and...

Last week, Netflix released a teaser for the final s4 hours of the drama created by The Duffer Brothers. During Netflix’s Geeked Week, Ross Duffer said he and his brother can now put the young stars in a lot more danger since they are in high school.
“The kids are now not kids anymore,” he said. “They are in high school. Suddenly that opened up a lot of doors for us. We can put them in danger that is really scary.”

For fans of “Stranger Things,” it’s almost time. On Tuesday, Netflix released the full trailer for “Stranger Things 4: Volume 1,” the long-awaited fourth season of the blockbuster series that last debuted new episodes on the streaming platform way back in 2019.
Set to a dramatic remix of “Separate Ways (Worlds Apart)” by Journey, the new trailer catches viewers up on where things stand after the events of “Stranger Things 3,” which ended with Joyce Wheeler (Winona Ryder) moving her kids, Will and Nancy (Noah Schnapp and Natalia Dyer), as well as Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown) out of Hawkins, Indiana. Elsewhere, after being presumed dead, Hopper (David Harbour) was shown alive at a mysterious Russian prison.
“Stranger Things 4” picks up six months after that conclusion with the major players “struggling with the aftermath, our group of friends are separated for the first time – and navigating the complexities of high school hasn’t made things any easier.

The “Stranger Things” kids are all grown up and going to war with the monsters of the Upside Down in the official trailer for Season 4.
Set to a looping version of the pulse in Journey’s “Separate Ways (Worlds Apart),” the trailer sees Mike (Finn Wolfhard), Dustin (Gaten Matarazzo), Lucas (Caleb McLaughlin) and Max (Sadie Sink) enter high school, while Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown) and Will (Noah Schnapp) are in California. As the friends navigate their different surroundings, a new supernatural threat surfaces, forcing them to once again confront the horrors of the Upside Down.
“A war is coming. Your friends in Hawkins are very much in the eye of a storm,” Eleven is warned. “I don’t know how to say this other than just to say it — without you, we can’t win this war.” Cue the title cards: “Every ending has a beginning.”

Eleven has lost her powers at the end of Stranger Things’ third season and they don’t appear to have returned in the first trailer for the long-delayed fourth season of the Netflix supernatural drama series.
“War is coming,” warns the Mind Flayer in the trailer, which gives a glimpse into the chaos that Millie Bobby Brown’s Eleven, Noah Schnapp’s Will Byers, Finn Wolfhard’s Mike Wheeler, Gaten Matarazzo’s Dustin Henderson and Caleb McLaughlin’s Lucas Sinclair as well as the rest of Hawkins, Indiana will face in the upcoming season.
Promising that “every ending has a beginning” – a nod to the recent news that season five will be the show’s final season, and showing the cast trying to be as normal as possible, their nemesis adds, “You’ve broken everything… you’re suffering is almost at an end”.

Netflix dropped a first look at several new photos from “Stranger Things” Season 4 on Wednesday morning, and yes, as everyone suspected, Sheriff Hopper is very much alive.
In one of the images, Hopper is looking worse for wear (when does he not) in what seems to be a snowy situation.
David Harbour as Jim Hopper in “Stranger Things” (Netflix)
There were also new pics showing Dungeons and Dragons remains a big feature in the show, which returns for the first part of Season 4 on May 27.
Joseph Quinn as Eddie Munson in “Stranger Things” (Netflix)
The new season will take place in Russia and California, and according to executive producer Ross Duffer, some of the theories fans have come up with about the new season are “startlingly” accurate.

Filming for the fourth season initially began in early 2020, but production faced numerous delays due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Stranger Things, a signature show for Netflix since its premiere in 2016, has been renewed for a fifth and final season.
In addition to the climactic renewal, the company said the long-awaited Season 4 of the show will premiere in two “volumes,” the first on May 27 and the second on July 1. In an open letter to fans (read it in full below), co-creators Matt and Ross Duffer said the split season resulted from the season’s nine episodes having a total running time twice as long as that of any previous season.
The Duffer Bros noted that the full arc was expected to be “four or five” seasons when they first envisioned the show, so the end is not a surprise. Plus, it won’t be the end of the franchise, they promised.

“Stranger Things” Season 4 is coming sooner than you think — but its being split into two volumes.
The Duffer Brothers, Matt and Ross, alongside Netflix, confirmed the breaking up of the fourth season with Vol. 1 premiering on May 27, with Volume 2 dropping five weeks later on July 1.
In a letter shared online with fans Thursday, they credited the reason for the split due to the runtime length of Season 4 being “nearly twice” that of previous seasons.
They wrote: “With nine scripts, over eight-hundred pages, almost two years of filming, thousands of visual effects shots, and a runtime of nearly twice the length of any previous season, ‘Stranger Things 4’ was the most challenging season yet, but also the most rewarding one. Everyone involved is incredibly proud of the results and we can’t wait to share it with you.”

Sorry, kids, there still no release date
We’ll get this out of the way right now, because you probably raced here to find out when the heck Season 4 of “Stranger Things” is finally premiering on Netflix. We have some bad news: Unfortunately, we still have no idea when the new season will launch.
But the good news is, we know the new season is actually happening, because Netflix released the first teaser for “Stranger Things 4.” And you can watch it right now in the video above.
The teaser begins with a montage of children playing games in a lab setting. We see a clock that’s striking 3 and a camera blinking red, and the sterile room decorated with rainbows as a handful of young kids clad in medical gowns and shaved heads play. Creepy child laughter echoes over the scene, and at one point, a kid’s hand holds...

Almost 15 months after Stranger Things debuted the first Season 4 teaser, the hugely popular Netflix series this morning has released a new glimpse from the upcoming season whose production was disrupted by the pandemic.
The second trailer is teasing the rumored return of Dr. Martin Brenner, played by Matthew Modine. The video appears to be set at the Hawkins National Laboratory run by Brenner where he raised, trained and performed experiments on children with psychokinetic abilities, including Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown), who called him Papa. In the end of the teaser, as the camera stops in front of a door with the number 11 on it, Dr. Brenner (whose face is never seen) is heard asking, “Are you listening, Eleven?,” as she opens her eyes.
It is not clear whether this is a flashback, a dream, if Eleven has been captured and imprisoned again or she is using her telekinetic abilities to find Dr.

“Stranger Things” has added eight new players for its upcoming fourth season.
The wildly popular Netflix show has cast Jamie Campbell Bower (“Sweeney Todd”), Eduardo Franco (“Booksmart”) and Joseph Quinn (“Catherine the Great”) as series regulars, as well as Robert Englund (best known for playing Freddy Krueger in “A Nightmare on Elm Street”) among several other recurring actors.
Like almost every other show, production on season 4 was delayed due to the coronavirus pandemic, but was up and running again from last month. Exact plot details for season 4 are being kept under wraps, but a teaser for the new episodes released way back in February finally gave fans confirmation that Hopper (David Harbour) did in fact survive the events of the Season 3 finale and is now being held as a prisoner in the Soviet Union.
In terms of who the new additions will be playing, Bower is joining as Peter Ballard,...

Exclusive: Netflix’s flagship series, Stranger Things, is preparing to go back to production. I hear that the hugely popular drama is targeting Sept. 28 to resume shooting its upcoming fourth season in Georgia. As is the case with any production during the pandemic, the date is tentative and subject to change. Netflix declined comment.
Stranger Things was in the early stages of filming Season 4 when Netflix on March 13 suspended film and TV production in the face of the escalating coronavirus pandemic.
Spoiler Alert: “We’re excited to officially confirm that production on Stranger Things 4 is now underway — and even more excited to announce the return of Hopper,” series creators The Duffer Brothers wrote on Feb. 14 in a note to fans accompanying the release of the first Season 4 teaser that revealed the fate of David Harbour’s character (You can watch it at the bottom of the post). A couple of weeks later,...

Jim Hopper (David Harbour) is alive (but not “and well”) in Netflix’s “Stranger Things 4.” Watch a Season 4 teaser from the Duffer Brothers via the video above — Happy Valentine’s Day!
There’s very little love shown here for Harbour, who looks like he’s going through Hell, boy. (Get it? Because he plays Hellboy in “Hellboy”? You get it.)
On the upcoming installment, our local cop is anywhere but local. Hopper is imprisoned in Kamchatka, which is located in far-eastern Russia.

If it wasn’t clear enough from the teaser, production on the upcoming season of “Stranger Things” is underway, the Duffers said on Friday. They also confirmed that Hopper is “the American,” a character referred to in a post-credits scene tacked on to the “Stranger Things 3” finale.
