Possibly the best episode in three years, “Parenting Made Easy” pummels Alicia with maternal guilt while pulling in all kinds of emotional threads as Peter, Will, Kalinda—even rival lawyer Lou Canning—react to the news that Grace has gone missing. Consider “Marthas and Caitlins” a pause in the series, an episode more concerned with regrouping characters and establishing priorities than pushing the action forward. It will take a while to get to the events behind that odd title, but when we do, there will be sharp lessons for Alicia. And the producers also have some fun bringing back incarcerated wife murderer Colin Sweeney (Dylan Baker) and casting Democratic strategist Donna Brazile as herself.
The court case involves a plane crash that left 40 people dead.
