When you think of a comic shop or a card store, you might think of the fans who shop there or the folks who run it and how they are so passionate about the things they love. Retail shops like these are always the epicenter for focused geek authenticity.
And when you think of Las Vegas, you might think of gambling, or partying, or glitzy entertainment. Vegas isn’t about deep or thoughtful enthusiasm about your passions, it’s about giving vihttp://www.comicmix.com/?p=109466&preview=truesitors a license to be enjoy the moment, and to be both indulgent and shallow without any guilt.

It seems like there's a new Marvel superhero that will be introduced to the McU in James Gunn's upcoming Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. We've already got a few new characters being thrown into the mix such as Ego the Living Planet, Mantis, and Ayesha, but it looks like Gunn may have added another character to the story.
The reveal originated from Amazon’s new storefront for the film's merchandise, which is broken down by each of the main heroes in the movie. It's there that a surprising name is revealed that we didn't previously know was involved with the movie. If you don't want to know who that character is, don't read ahead:
The name that appears on the list of characters is Darkhawk, who is an obscure Marvel hero that I could see a person like Gunn picking out of all the characters to use in the film.

Following the recent departures of both Paolo Di Canio and Nigel Clough at Sunderland and Derby County respectively, the new age that gives managers precious little time in any job has finally dawned on me. With Clough gone, there remain only 3 from 92 Football League managers that have been in their current job for over 4 years. This unstable, uncertain culture surrounding the modern game surely must change.
Focusing first on Di Canio, we are offered an example of how football has changed for the worse. With Sunderland languishing at the bottom of the nation’s top tier, Di Canio was forced out by a series of player complaints and personal attacks on him. Justified or not, the fact that the Italian was in charge of the club for a mere 13 matches shows something is wrong with today’s game. Di Canio had just 5 league matches at the beginning of his first...

Grandchildren began as a solo project for Philadelphia musician Aleks Martray, who layered his acoustic guitar with a loop pedal. Since its inception in 2008 the band has evolved to a six piece, releasing their latest album Golden Age just last week. Golden Age was produced by Chris Powell (Man Man) and Bill Moriarty (Dr. Dog), and the album draws on Martray’s many moves as a child of the military. So Paolo Di Canio has been appointed the new Sunderland manager, and some people don’t seem to understand why this is a totally terrible thing. Paolo Di Canio is a fascist. He believes in an ideology that propped up Hitler during World War II, and that millions of our ancestors died fighting against. He believes in an ideology that promotes violence over peace, racism over equality, division over unity. It is an ideology that has spectacularly failed every time it has been tried. Such views are not appropriate to be given such a public forum. For those who genuinely didn’t quite understand the fuss, this should hopefully be sufficient enough to persuade them that Di Canio + Sunderland = boooooooooooooooooooooo. But, alarmingly, for some it doesn’t seem to be.
There seem to be three standard arguments in favour of Di Canio being allowed to take charge at Sunderland. The first is “Hooray For Fascism!

"I found fitness when I was 14 years old," says Chris Powell, the guy behind the jaw-dropping body and life transformations on ABC's "Extreme Makeover: Weight Loss Edition." "I was the tiniest kid growing up - the one kid who didn't make the football team - and my parents bought a weight set for me. I actually used it, and within a couple months, I saw it changing my life. It empowered me at my lowest point, and that's why I'm so passionate about it."
The Arizona native and proud dad of three became a personal trainer, eventually landing a gig as the fitness pro on "Good Morning, Arizona," where he was contacted by his first superobese client - a man Powell's own age who tipped the scale at 650 pounds. "I said, 'I'm going to come to your house every other day, and let's just see how this goes,' " Powell recalls.

"The Avengers" hits theaters next year, bringing some of Marvel Comics' most popular superheroes together on one screen. Not only will the film feature solo stars Iron Man, Thor, Captain America, and Hulk, but it will also include characters like Black Widow and Hawkeye whose presence in Marvel's cinematic universe have been relegated to cameos thus far.
However, those are far from the only members of the Avengers roster that Hollywood can chose from. As one of Marvel's oldest superhero teams, it's almost easier to name the Marvel Comics characters who haven't held an Avengers ID at one point or another.
And while some of the names on the Avengers roster could certainly factor into the upcoming film and future Marvel movies, there are quite a few characters who it's safe to assume will never make the leap to page to screen.
From a bikini-clad tigress to a time-traveling gunslinger,...

This week was a special episode of Extreme Makeover Weight Loss Edition which followed 26 year old father and compulsive overeater, Wally who first weighed in with Chris Powell at 490 lbs. Once Powell came on board to help Wally transform his life for the better, Wally’s Chicago, Illinois man cave of a basement was transformed into the biggest personal gym we have seen on the show! Unfortunately, this personal gym was used the least amongst all of Powell’s clients featured this season. That is what made this episode so different from the others. Wally met his phase one weight loss goal of 110 lbs and was rewarded with an all expense paid family trip to Disney World, celebrating his daughter’s second birthday. But at 380 lbs, Wally still had quite a way to go to get to a healthy weight. With Powell out of Wally’s everyday life after phase one,...

But with the help of Chris Powell, her days of mourning were slowly but numbered. With a phase one (90 day) goal set at a weight loss goal of 100 lbs and the promise of a new car if that goal was met… viewers watched Rhonda work out in her new full gym (placed in her living room) and around town with Powell with a drive and positive attitude that we haven’t seen as much of in previous contestants. “Yeah, good one mate. I’ve not heard that one before.” John Barnes and Ian Rush are in London’s Berkley Square to promote Hyundai’s new game app, Hyundai Boot Shoot. To do so, Hyundai have recreated the app in real life; parking one of their i20 cars in the square, popping the boot open and Barnes and Rush are shooting footballs into it with impressive accuracy. A sizable crowd has turned up to watch them.
Of course, whenever Barnes makes a public appearance, it is unlikely that some wiseacre doesn’t make reference to his infamous rap which graced the middle eight of New Order’s England anthem, ‘World in Motion’. Today is no exception – a laddish-looking man calls out for a rendition of the rap and whilst Barnes’s retort perhaps isn’t the wittiest, it does the job and the heckler is silenced. Mumbai, Aug 2 – Gaining acceptance, convincing record labels, fighting piracy and making ends meet. While international bands like U2, AC/DC and Coldplay are rolling in the millions, Indian bands say survival is tough, let alone earning huge profits.
‘In this country, survival as a musician is very tough. Taking up music as a profession is a big challenge,’ Chris Powell of Hindi rock band Bandish told Ians.
‘One of the major challenges a band faces in India is acceptance. Post acceptance, the challenge is to find a record label.

Crunchy guitar sound, a typically Bollywood style of singing, a slight stint with Sufi music, and a heavy dose of Indian percussion sums up the second self-titled album by the Indi-rock band Bandish, released last week.
