Dynamite Entertainment has released a ton of Army of Darkness comic books over the years, but with the upcoming series Army of Darkess: Forever they’re going back to the source: this comic book is a direct sequel to director Sam Raimi’s 1993 film (watch it Here)! And this sequel comes with a bonus in that it continues on from both endings of the film.
While the theatrical cut of Army of Darkness found our time traveling hero Ash back in his own time, working at S-Mart (and fighting a Deadite in the aisles), the director’s cut of the film ends with Ash being dropped into a post-apocalyptic future.
Here’s the information on Army of Darkness: Forever #1: The story picks up immediately after the events of the beloved film, jumping between three fun timelines. The Techno Army of Darkness of 2093, the S-Mart aisles of 1993, and the middle ages chaos of Castle Kandar,...

A new episode of The Arrow in the Head Show has just been released, and in this one hosts John “The Arrow” Fallon and Lance Vlcek are continuing to prepare for the new release Evil Dead Rise. For last week’s episode, they looked back at Evil Dead II, and now they’re revisiting the 1993 follow-up Army of Darkness (watch it Here)! To find out what they had to say about Army of Darkness, check out the video embedded above!
Written by Sam Raimi and his brother Ivan Raimi, Army of Darkness has the following synopsis: Ash is transported back to medieval days, where he is captured by the dreaded Lord Arthur. Aided by the deadly chainsaw that has become his only friend, Ash is sent on a perilous mission to recover the Book of the Dead, a powerful tome that gives its owner the power to summon an army of ghouls.

On February 19, 1993, the third entry in director Sam Raimi‘s Evil Dead franchise – Army of Darkness (watch it Here) – reached theatres. Even though the film was a box office failure, it quickly earned a cult following… and by now, it probably ranks as one of the most popular horror comedies ever made. That’s why we have put together a video to celebrate 30 years of Army of Darkness, which you can now check out in the embed above!

Just last month, Evil Dead: The Game was updated to add the characters of Mia and David Allen from the 2013 Evil Dead movie. This month, it’s going to receiving the “Hail to the King” update – and it’s quite appropriate that the update is named after a line from Army of Darkness, because it involves the addition of an Army of Darkness-inspired single player mission and a character from Army of Darkness!
The new single player mission has the following description: “Castle Kandar’s Witch has opened a rift in time and space. Henry the Red must put her to the sword to save mankind.“
The Army of Darkness character who is being added to the game is The Blacksmith. In the film, the Blacksmith was played by Timothy Patrick Quill, who unfortunately passed away last year at the age of 63. It’s a nice tribute to Quill that...

Another brand new playable character is headed to Evil Dead: The Game, with the developers announcing tonight that the Blacksmith from Army of Darkness is coming very soon!
“The Blacksmith arrives this October as part of the Hail to the King update! The Blacksmith is included in Season Pass 1. Keep your eyes peeled for more news about the update.”
The character was played on screen by Timothy Patrick Quill in Sam Raimi’s horror-comedy sequel from 1992, who unfortunately passed away back in April of last year.
Timothy Patrick Quill later popped up for cameo appearances in Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man movies, and he also showed up in Raimi’s movie Oz the Great and Powerful.
Quill also appeared in Sam Raimi’s debut feature It’s Murder!, along with several shorts from the Raimi crew including Three on a Couch, No Dough Boys, and Six Months to Live.

Dick Johnson & Tommygun vs. the Cannibal Cop has wrapped principal photography in Buffalo, NY, and we have the first set of stills right here. Get a look at this upcoming horror comedy, or face the wrath of Dick. Trust us... Dick wrath sucks.
The film, an action-horror-buddy cop hybrid, was written by John Renna, who co-stars with Sam Qualiana. Danny Hicks, Debbie Rochon, and Timothy Patrick Quill are also in the cast.
"Working with Danny and Tim, and finally getting to direct Debbie, was a true honor," says Renna.
He also gives a lot of credit to his location, "The support we received from local businesses was staggering. Buffalo actively supports film and art, making a lot possible on a minimal budget."
Qualiana plays Dick Johnson, a by-the-book detective who partners with rough-around-the-edges Jeff "Tommygun" Thompson to track down the elusive and mysterious Cannibal Cop. Hicks plays their captain, who...

A new indie flick is on its way from director Jordan Pacheco entitled Dead Bounty featuring the first "unmasked" Michael Myers, Tony Moran, and we have your first look and more cold off of the slab! Dig it!
From the Press Release
While on the search for a fleeing felon, Dead Bounty (directed by Jordan Pacheco) follows a group of bounty hunters, lead by 'Bosk' (Tony Moran) and 'Henry' (Timothy Patrick Quill), who head into a vast New England forest in hopes to capture a dangerous man. Closing in on their quarry, the group encounters more than just a murderer on the run when they are confronted with a seemingly endless horde of the undead. The cracked fever dream of a movie titled Thou Shalt Not Kill... Except is best known for its impressive Evil Dead pedigree, featuring several key players from that classic indie film both in front of and behind the camera.
Spearheaded by Josh Becker (who worked on The Evil Dead ’s second unit) and Scott Spiegel (co-writer of Evil Dead 2), this “Marines vs. the Manson family” saga from 1985 has built a solid cult of its own over the years. Much like The Evil Dead, it began as a short film made to raise funds for a feature-length production. The shot-on-8mm Stryker’s War (also the alternate title for the feature) starred Bruce Campbell as Sergeant Stryker and included much of the same plot and dialogue.

A unique event - a convention centered solely on the undead and “zombie culture” - took place here in the Emerald City. Organized by promoter Ryan Reiter (of “Red, White, and Dead” fame), this was an undertaking the size of which would have been bold for even an already established convention. For a first-time con, the scope of it was impressive, to say the least.
The guest list alone was one that would cause most promoters to lay awake at night fitfully worrying over logistics: George Romero, Bruce Campbell, Malcolm McDowell, Chuck Palahniuk (author, Fight Club), Max Brooks (author, World War Z), John Amplas (Martin, Day Of The Dead), Terry Alexander (Day Of The Dead), Scott Reiniger (Dawn Of The Dead) Ted Raimi (Spider-man), The Ladies of The Evil Dead (Theresa Tilly, Betsy Baker, Ellen Sandweiss), Danny Hicks (Evil Dead 2: Dead By Dawn), Timothy Patrick Quill (Army Of Darkness), the Zombie Research Society,...

Zombies. I love ‘em. You love ‘em. From the looks of most media, everybody loves ‘em. Long considered the drunken, famished, and wholly unruly guests at the Horror Party, they’re appearing in everything from books, movies, videogames, even commercials and a Halloween-themed Sears web site. This year however, there’s a new venue in town: ZomBCon.
ZomBCon is a “convention of the living dead” happening in Seattle, Wa and horror sites and mainstream news outlets are buzzing about it. Bruce Campbell is a cult hero. Who can ever dislodge the image of a crazed "S-Mart" salesman who snipped off his arm, replaced it with a twelve guage shotgun and kicked some monster booty in hilarious horror comedies like one of our favorites, "Army of Darkness." Campbell directs and stars in this film in the same genre which Mark Verheiden (new "Battlestar Galactica" series and "Smallville") writers. Bruce Campbell fans will obviously not want to skip this one. Personally, I think "Bubba Ho-tep" is one of the most hilarious comedies I've seen for a long time. Check out images, the poster and the trailer above for the indie! In My Name Is Bruce, Campbell is mistaken for his character Ash from the Evil Dead trilogy and forced to fight a real monster - a nine-foot-tall sword-wielding Chinese god of war - in a small town in Oregon.
