Mumbai, Jan 31: Singer Roop Kumar Rathod says Shaan exudes a lot of positive energy.
"Shaan is a sweetheart, just like his voice. Both Radhika, his wife, and Shaan have such positive energy... whenever I meet them I feel that," the 39-year-old singer said at an event here Thursday.
Calling Shaan, a "true artist", Rathod added: "Usually when one singer meets another it's like 'Oh! He has come, his song is doing better than mine' and all that. Somewhere they have all these negative feelings towards other singers, but on the surface they behave very sweetly. But it changes the moment you turn your back. And with Shaan, I always.

Looking back at 2012 song-ically, it certainly was a year of cool sounds, new voices, groovy and groovin’ beats and over all some killer tracks. Many of the songs brought a new vibe to the music of the movies, songs flavored with new influences, and songs that we never would have thought we would hear in a Bollywood flick. There were classic beats that got us up and dancing not to mention the grooves of today that got us to move to the music. We met some new singers we can’t wait to hear more of and some of our favorites blew us away with outstanding vocals. 2012 was full of surprises and we enjoyed so many of them, 50 in fact and every single note! As always we loved these songs when they first came out but once we saw them in the movie we loved them even more! Check out...

They are now successful music-directors, who have worked extensively with Yash Raj films (Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi, Band Baaja Baaraat), amongst many others. Salim opened the evening sharing with the audience how they have been recording in the studios for the last fifteen years and only now felt that they could bring their music to the stage in London.

Today, after numerous spectacularly memorable songs as a superstar singer, and a multitude of super hit film music scores as part of the top music director troika Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy, Shankar Mahadevan is not only going to greater professional and artistic strengths, but is also giving back to society. Through his very own music academy, and through participating in socially uniting, relevant and powerful initiatives like participating in — and leading — close to one 100,000 patriotic Aurangabadkars on Republic Day-eve to set up a Guinness World Record for the maximum number of people singing the National Anthem in unison. Shankar, as he is fondly called by film fans as though they have known him all their lives, is constantly breaking new ground.
Soon after he appeared at the Aurangabad event, we caught up with Shankar Mahadevan, who spoke about ‘the most beautiful and emotional piece of music’ he has grown up to, his musicality,...

In a rousing display of patriotism and unity, the voices of thousands of Aurangabadkars, singing ‘Jana Gana Mana’ in full-throated fervour, created history this morning on the eve of Republic day. With a tally of 15243, they took India into the Guinness Book of World Records for ‘the most people singing a national anthem simultaneously’, erasing the previous record held by Pakistan for 5800 individuals.
Andrea Banfi, Head of Adjudicators, Guinness World Records Limited, who had flown in from London, handed over the certificate to Rajya Sabha MP and Chairman of Lokmat Media Limited, Vijay Babu Darda, who accepted it on behalf of each and every Aurangabadkar who had created the world record for India.

One of our favorite songs on the Agneepath soundtrack is ‘O Saiyyan’ sung by beautifully by Roop Kumar Rathod. Talking to us exclusively about the music of Agneepath, composers Ajay-Atul said ‘O Saiyyan’ was actually a tricky one, “Tricky in the sense that song is a romantic song and it’s from a heroine’s point of view, but the singer is a male here. And it’s the style of our Sufi music where a male singer sings or can sing from female point of view. The main thing we wanted someone with a true Sufi voice. So we got our very good friend Roop Kumar Rathod. We were already searching for a chance to use his voice and this song was perfect. He has come up with very beautiful vocals.”
Not only do we love the song but the pictuization is beyond gorgeous. Hrithik, Priyanka, rain, lovely romantic tune,...

They are the new kids on the block in the Hindi film music industry, but brothers Ajay and Atul Gogvale have been creating award winning soundtracks and background scores for Marathi films since 2004. Their first foray into the Hindi film industry was the Ajay Devgn starrer Singham. Audiences fell in love with their range and depth of sound in the songs ‘Maula Maula’, ‘Singham’ and ‘Saathiya’ and could not wait to hear more. Karan Johar and Karan Malhotra apparently agreed and hired them to create the sound for their version of Agneepath. Using their Marathi flavor as a basis and taking into consideration the new telling of this classic, the brothers say as soon as they heard the script of Agneepath they knew they had to create music that was full of grandeur and that it needed to be larger than life. We got the chance to chat with the...

We certainly have been treated with some most excellent Agneepath sneak peeks and exclusive looks and we are still a month away from the release of the film. Starring Hrithik Roshan, Sanjay Dutt, Rishi Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra, the film is a new telling of the classic film from 1990.
Now, after the launch of the second theatrical trailer on December 23, 2011, team Agneepath released a new song from the film – ‘O Saiyyan! Composed by Ajay-Atul, the track is a love song featuring Hrithik Roshan & Priyanka Chopra as Vijay Dinanath Chauhan and Kaali in a very passionate and romantic mood. With the incredibly meaningful lyrics penned by Amitabh Bhattacharya, the song may well become the anthem for romance for years to come.

Since the day Dharma Productions’ unveiled the first look of their 2012 remake of yesteryear hit Agneepath, one thing was for sure – that the film will be devoid of Dharma Productions’ trademark extravagant song sequences. That is, stars lavishly dressed in Manish Malhotras dancing to Farah Khan’s directions with 1,000,000 extras in the background to a familiar tune claiming to be new.
Accordingly, audiences and critics alike had no hopes or expectations of a typical Dharma Productions soundtrack from Agneepath, a presumption that was affirmed when Ajay and Atul Gogvale of Singham fame were announced as the music directors of the film rather than the likes of Shankar-Eshaan-Loy and Vishal-Shekar. On the outset Agneepath’s soundtrack is made up of 6 tracks, no remixes, and features the vocal talents of Sunidhi Chauhan , Shreya Ghosal, Roop Kumar Rathod (Tujh Mein Rab Dikta Hai – Rab Ne Bana De Jodi), Sonu Nigam , Sukwinder Singh,...
