- Greg Reitman, Filmmaker, Producer, Executive Producer, Author Greg Reitman is an American film director, producer, executive producer, writer, author, who combines an impressive background in film production, marketing, distribution, and finance. Described by Movie Maker Magazine as "one of the top ten filmmakers producing content that impacts our world." He is the founder of Blue Water Entertainment, Inc., an independent production company focusing on environmentally conscious broad based entertainment.
Greg served as Executive Producer on the feature film, Crypto produced by Yale Productions starring Kurt Russell, Beau Knapp which will be released theatrically by Lions Gate in 2019.
Widely regarded as Hollywood's "Green Filmmaker" Greg wrote, produced & directed the New York Festival Audience Award-winning feature documentary, ROOTED in PEACE ("Reitman's authenticity is what makes this film worth seeing" Herbert Paine, Broadway World) which debut at the United, screened at numerous film festivals including the prestigious du Festival d' Environment in Paris. The film was released theatrically thru Landmark Theaters and expanded over to 100+ art house theaters across the nation combined with a national DVD release in Whole Foods. The film is currently slated for a worldwide digital release with Netflix in 2019
Prior to directing ROOTED in PEACE, Greg produced "FUEL" SUNDANCE Audience Award-winning feature documentary FUEL ("A vital, superbly assembled documentary" -- Gary Goldstein, Los Angeles Times). FUEL played at dozens of film festivals, won numerous awards, was released theatrically and aired on CNBC.
Prior to producing FUEL, Greg wrote, produced, and directed the feature documentary "Hollywood's Magical Island - Catalina ("A charming and nostalgic slice of Americana that beautifully recreates a sense of place." - Andrea Hanson, American Public Television). The award-winning documentary was shown at over a dozen film festivals before syndicating on PBS.
Greg has written as a freelance journalist covering climate change, alternative energy, and transformative thought for Huffington Post, The Environmentalist, & The World Parliament of Religions. He recently authored his second book, published by Lleywn Publisher's entitled ROOTED in PEACE: An Inspiring Story of Finding Peace.
Greg Reitman received a BA in History & Film from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst with international studies at Florence University in Florence, Italy; Hokkaido University in Sapporo, Japan; and Tel-Aviv University in Tel-Aviv, Israel. He received a Masters Certificate in Creative Producing from The Jewish Federation Masters Program as well as from UCLA in writing, directing, marketing and distribution. Greg served as an adjunct professor teaching at NYU- Tisch the marketing & distribution class. He is an active member of the Director's Guild of America.
