The summer’s most anticipated comedy is Greta Gerwig’s “Barbie,” starring Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling. After her two box office misfires of 2022 — “Amsterdam” and “Babylon” — Robbie is on the cusp of her first critical darling and giant financial hit in a long while. Two of her acclaimed performances brought her Academy Award nominations in the previous decade, so with “Barbie” opening in theaters, let’s look back at Robbie’s two Oscar races.
Her first Oscar nomination came in 2018 in the Best Actress category for her performance as Tonya Harding in “I, Tonya.” Written by Steven Rogers and directed by Craig Gillespie, the film tells the true-life story of Harding’s rise in the U.S. Figure Skating Championships and how everything came crashing down. Robbie had been received Oscar buzz for at least one of her movies before this — Martin Scorsese’s “The Wolf of Wall Street,...

Before Chris Evans grabbed a star-spangled shield and donned the mantle of Captain America, and even before the late, great, B-movie maestro Albert Pyun directed the straight-to-video 1990 "Captain America" movie, there was Universal's failed "Captain America" feature-length television film, which aired in 1979. Now a footnote in the history of superhero cinema, director Rod Holcomb's "Captain America" fits neatly next to the studio's 1978 "Dr. Strange" adaptation as similar attempts at seeing how Marvel's comic book characters could (extremely loosely) translate to low-budget, live-action TV material. Unfortunately for Holcomb, the project was a bit of an embarrassment.
Holcomb had already directed three episodes of Universal Television's "The Six Million Dollar Man" before taking on the task of adapting "Captain America," but the director was frightened that the production ended his career before it barely even began. The film starred Reb Brown, also known in B-movie circles from "Yor, the Hunter from the Future,...

It’s been called “a super powered sensation.” Critics have said that it’s “an all-American musical for an all-American hero.” And Dancer magazine exclaimed, “Every Avenger brought to life!” It’s the popular, audience and critically-acclaimed stage show Rogers: The Musical. And it’s not real…until now. The Disney+ series, Hawkeye, about the lesser profiled member from The Avengers movies, featured a tongue-in-cheek joke about a broadway musical in the superhero universe that depicts the events in New York in 2012 when the Avengers first assembled.
Deadline now has the details on Rogers: The Musical making its way on stage for real as it is set to be performed this summer at the Hyperion Stage inside California Adventure Park at Disneyland resort. Rogers: The Musical was first shown in the premiere episode of Hawkeye as joke where Clint Barton, played by Jeremy Renner, would take his kids to see the show in New York.

Marvel’s the Avengers has recently teased via Twitter and TikTok that a new amusement park experience, “Rogers: The Musical,” will be coming to Disneyland California Adventure Park’s Hyperion Theater for a limited time this summer.
The teaser video features a woman in front of the Hyperion theater holding up the theater’s programming booklet, with “Rogers: The Musical” on the cover. The Avengers account tweeted alongside the 18-second video, “A timeless story of a timeless hero!

The Marvel Cinematic Universe is obsessed with Captain America and it always has been. Even though the Joe Biden lookalike bid his superhero friends farewell 10 whole movies ago, he's somehow always top of mind — whether it's Sam Wilson struggling to follow in his footsteps or Peter Parker attempting murder atop Cap's giant fallen shield from the Statue of Liberty. But by far, the greatest tribute to America's Ass was the dazzling musical that took fictional Broadway by storm in the Disney+ series "Hawkeye." So if you haven't been able to shake the memory of "Rogers: The Musical" from your brain, then prepare to celebrate some very good news: Steve Rogers will officially take center stage in his own one-act musical!
Disney Parks announced the news via Twitter, sharing a brief teaser video and writing, "A short one-act musical is coming for a limited time this summer to Disney California Adventure Park!

With the MCU seemingly getting bigger every single day, audiences have long speculated that some of the original Avengers that have been around since the beginning might be close to calling it quits. After all, we as fans might want to see the beloved characters time after time, but actors and actresses are real people and understandably want to move on to other things.
So, with beloved heroes like Iron Man, Steve Rogers, and Black Widow meeting their end (as well as rumors that more will follow in the upcoming Phase 5 & 6) many believe that the MCU will soon allow some of the younger heroes to take over. It certainly doesn’t seem to be a coincidence that so many young characters have been introduced throughout Phase 4 and a Young Avengers movie (while not confirmed) does seem imminent. So, with that in mind, how many of these adolescent universe savers could...

For general audiences and especially hardcore fans, it might be tempting to think that actors achieving a high-profile Marvel Cinematic Universe gig simply must be the pinnacle of their career.
Chris Evans is undoubtedly a successful actor outside of Captain America, of course, but who is ever going to think of his chilling turn in "Snowpiercer," his hilarious performance in "Scott Pilgrim vs the World," or even his delightful take on the hateful Ransom Drysdale in "Knives Out" (besides weirdos like me, at least) instead of immediately associating him with the big ol' boy scout, Steve Rogers? Similarly, for all his charisma and comedic chops, Chris Hemsworth would've had a much harder time becoming a leading man without Thor. Even Robert Downey, Jr. found a safe space in Iron Man, propelling him to a dramatic career rehabilitation in the minds of a once-skeptical public.

Cate Blanchett is returning to the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Hela, Goddess of Death.
Inspired by the Norse goddess Hel, the character first appeared in the 2017 film Thor: Ragnarok. She is later mentioned in Avengers: Infinity War (2018) and Thor: Love and Thunder (2022).
Blanchett will reprise the role for the forthcoming second season of What If…?
As reported by Laughing Place, the series director Bryan Andrews revealed that the Oscar-winner had already recorded dialogue for an episode featuring her character but announced few other details.
What If…? is Marvel Studios’ first animated series, which focuses on different heroes in the MCU and what might have occurred in stories of alternate universes and realities.
Narrated by Uatu the Watcher (Jeffrey Wright), each episode looks at key moments in the MCU and how things might have gone differently. For example, one episode in the first series looked at what would have happened if...

James Gunn assembled a fun group of misfits when he brought the first Guardians Of The Galaxy to the screen. No one outside of hardcore Marvel comic fans had even heard of the team before the film premiered. Once fans saw the movie, they were a box office megahit. Suddenly everyone knew who Starlord, Drax, Rocket, Groot, and Gamora were. And they wanted more. The crew would appear again in Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2, Avengers: Infinity War, Avengers Endgame, Thor: Love And Thunder, and most recently, the Guardians Of The Galaxy Holiday Special.
In May 2023, James Gunn takes his final bow (at least for now) in the MCU as he starts his new job of co-running DC Films over at Warner Brothers. Along with him, many of the cast have stated that they will also be leaving the franchise behind. With Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 3...

The future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe is a curious thing. For starters, most of the McU's original Avengers team is super dead and the members that are left can be found tying up loose ends like Kevin Feige is hiding just out of frame with the Grim Reaper's scythe. (Go ahead and drop Steve Rogers into whichever of those two categories makes you most comfortable.) What makes the McU's trajectory a curious thing, however, is that Marvel Studios seems to be taking a very Hydra-style approach to the overarching story's next official steps. For every hero fallen, two heroes have risen to take their place, and that looks to be the trend for the foreseeable future.
Hmm, "future" -- that's a funny word to keep using in reference a narrative where the multiverse and time itself are endlessly flexible. It's especially strange when so much of the McU's...

“Werewolf by Night,” Marvel Studios’ Halloween-themed mini-movie, has just hit Disney+. And it’s something to howl about.
A black-and-white creature feature directed by frequent Marvel Studios collaborator Michael Giacchino and styled after similar movies from the 1940s, it introduces us to the title character, whose human name is Jack Russell (get it?) and who, in the film, is played by the great Gael Garcia Bernal. Jack is brought to a remote estate with fellow monster hunters, where he is tasked with bagging the biggest, most fearsome beast yet. But can he accomplish his goal while also concealing his true identity?
That’s the big question. But today we are here to talk about an even bigger question: who is that big monster that everybody is after? What is his deal and where could he fit into the MCU going forward?
Major spoilers for “Werewolf by Night” follow. If you haven’t watched yet,...

This post contains spoilers for the latest episode of "She-Hulk: Attorney at Law."
The fact that the Marvel Cinematic Universe has a romance problem has long been documented. Across its twenty-some movies and many television series, this franchise has barely crafted a handful of compelling romances. But there's no need to reiterate all that here, because we have bigger fish to fry. Romantic relationships are just one piece of the passion puzzle: there's something else that's been sorely missing from this franchise and that's straight-up raunchy action. I'm not talking sweet, doe-eyed, blooming love — this is about steamy, passionate heat, something that is oddly nonexistent in this world of glistening abs and skintight suits.
Thankfully, "She-Hulk: Attorney At Law" has come to our rescue, bringing the heat as no other hero before her has dared. And with Jennifer Walters (Tatiana Maslany) on the prowl, Marvel has finally taken a step...

This post contains light spoilers for Werewolf by Night.
If you’ve been watching She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, you know that the MCU likes to dig deep into the decades-long backlog of Marvel Comics to find weird and obscure characters, including Mr. Immortal, El Aguila, and Porcupine. The upcoming Halloween special Werewolf by Night seems like a continuation of that approach, pushing lesser-known wolfman character Jack Russell to the forefront. But while Russell is certainly a C-list Marvel hero, at least he headlined his own comic for a while in the 1970s. The same cannot be said for the character who provides the emotional spine for the Werewolf by Night special, Elsa Bloodstone.
The scion of the Bloodstone monster hunters, Elsa has made a name for herself in cult comics such as Nextwave: Agents of Hate and Monsters Unleashed. But those comics only scratch the surface of the character’s depth,...

This article contains major spoilers for episode 7 of "She-Hulk: Attorney At Law"
If there's one thing "She-Hulk: Attorney At Law" has been able to do more than most projects in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, it's showing superpowered, supernatural, and otherwise mythical beings just existing within this world. While Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox) was one of the first notable lawyers in the MCU, his clients were largely grounded beings, such as Frank Castle (Jon Bernthal).
Although Jennifer Walters (Tatiana Maslany) hasn't been on hand with all of these specific cases, the superpowered law division of Goodman, Lieber, Kurtzberg, and Holliway have already dealt with a light elf, a disgraced sorcerer, a superhuman influencer, and an indestructible being simply known as Mr. Immortal (David Pasquesi). The biggest detriment against "She-Hulk" is that most of these cases feel like afterthoughts, while Jen tries to adjust her living situation alongside the big, green rage machine living inside her.

As a comic book fan, you go into superhero movies with some expectations. When Nick Fury shows up to talk to Tony Stark about the Avengers Initiative, you know to be excited. When Volstagg refers to the Tesseract as an “Infinity Stone,” you know that things are about to get real. When Doctor Strange meets a man named Mordo, you know that this relationship isn’t going to work out. And when Captain America is menaced by a longhaired assassin with a metal arm, you know what face lies beneath the mask.
That’s not to say that you know everything that’s going to happen! None of the movies or shows in the Marvel Cinematic Universe are entirely faithful to the source material. Probably the closest would be Captain America: Civil War, and that one is still way off from the comic.

The new Captain America has been christened. In Avengers: Endgame, Steve Rogers handed his shield off to Sam Wilson aka The Falcon. In The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, Sam Wilson officially adopted the moniker Captain America. Recently, Marvel Studios’ fearless leader Kevin Feige announced the future projects of the next phases of the MCU. One of them is the new spin-off/sequel, Captain America: New World Order.
Mackie recently spoke with Variety on his new cause and what the future holds for Cap. When asked about how much input he’s able to contribute to the new film, Mackie had this to say,
They’re definitely very inclusive. When we did The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, [writer] Malcolm Spellman and I talked at length about what that character was turning into, what we wanted him to be, what we wanted that narrative to be. Now with Malcolm writing this Captain America,...

Steve Rogers (Chris Evans) passed on his shield to Sam Wilson (Anthony Mackie) in Avengers: Endgame, bringing Captain America’s arc to a well-deserved conclusion. The events of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier found Wilson taking on the mantle of Captain America as it explored the implications of a Black man being given that role. Anthony Mackie will be bringing his version of Cap to the big screen with Captain America: New World Order, but there are bound to be comparisons between the two heroes.

This post contains potential spoilers for Black Panther: Wakanda Forever
While the MCU tends to be far more faithful to the comics than many other live-action adaptations of superhero properties, they are still adaptations. Some deviation from the comics should be expected. For example, the James “Bucky” Barnes of Captain America comics was a plucky teen who donned a domino mask and a machine gun to fight Nazis in World War II, not the handsome contemporary to Steve Rogers seen in the films. Yondu is a mystical hunter who lives in harmony with other life forms in Guardians of the Galaxy comics, not the space redneck played by Michael Rooker. These types of changes continue with Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, which reimagines Namor the Sub-Mariner as a MesoAmerican, not from Atlantis but from Talocan.

Legacy is a key part of superhero stories. When one hero falls, another rises to take their place, often adopting the same code name and costume as their predecessor. In Marvel Comics, we’ve seen that when Bucky became Winter Soldier after the death of Steve Rogers or when James Rhodes took over as Iron Man from Tony Stark. Those dynamics are happening in the MCU as well, as actors leave the franchise and others join. We’ve already had a taste of this dynamic with Anthony Mackie’s Sam Wilson becoming the new Captain America after Chris Evans retired.
But perhaps the most important legacy question surrounds Black Panther. Director Ryan Coogler and MCU boss Kevin Feige were well into planning for the sequel to the blockbuster 2018 movie Black Panther when its main star Chadwick Boseman died. For a moment, some thought Feige and Coogler would recast the part.

Captain America has one of the most iconic costumes in all of comic book history, if not pop culture at large. Since his debut in "Captain America Comics No. 1" in 1941, his design by the legendary "King of Comics" Jack Kirby has remained largely unchanged. It's deceptively simple and effectively sublimates the "rah-rah" patriotism as the heart of the character without being too in your face (a single step further would be overkill), and the chainmail texture of his suit harkens back to previous champions of lore.
How did the Marvel Cinematic Universe fare with its attempts at bringing this instantly-recognizable costume to the big screen? The results have been mixed, but they've given us plenty of versions to consider. It would be safe to assume that Cap's many wardrobe changes were at least partially commercially-motivated since a new costume means a new action figure to add to your collection. Cap...

The Marvel Cinematic Universe is easily one of the most successful film franchises of the 21st century. While there have been many great films inspired by comic books, the MCU was the first interconnected saga that brought multiple heroes together for a crossover event. Ever since the success of 2008's "Iron Man," the MCU has pulled off the rare challenge of pleasing both hardcore comic book lovers and more casual movie fans. There's a consistent level of quality in the McU's output. While not every film or television show is a home run, the franchise has avoided any complete disasters.
The third phase of the MCU concluded in 2019 with "Avengers: Endgame," which brought the "Infinity Saga" to a close. While Covid-19-related pushbacks may have delayed the next stage of the franchise, Phase Four has been the most ambitious entry within the series thus far. The next era of the...

This post contains spoilers for She-Hulk: Attorney at Law Episode 5
She-Hulk might be a new character to the MCU, but she’s already proven herself to be at the center of the franchise’s superheroic world. In addition to being cousin to the Hulk, and thus privy to what Steve Rogers can do all night, Jen Walters’s job in superhuman law brings her into contact with other aspects of the superhero world, from small-timers the Wrecking Crew to super-influencer Titania. Even more than a sitcom about a super-lawyer, She-Hulk: Attorney at Law has been a tour of the cottage industries built around superheroes.
Episode 5 continues that trend by bringing Jen into the world of superhero fashion. Thanks to the sleuthing of would-be style icons Nikki and Pug, Jen meets Luke Jacobson, a hyper-exclusive fashion designer who only creates for the greatest of heroes. Think Edna from The Incredibles, but somehow even more condescending.

The sight of Captain America with his battle damaged vibranium shield during the final battle of "Avengers: Endgame" was a low-point moment foreshadowed as far back as Tony Stark's bleak vision in "Avengers: Age of Ultron." However, once an army of superheroic saviors appeared behind Steve Rogers (Chris Evans) and Mjolnir flew into his hand, it gave him the perfect moment to finally drop the "Avengers ... assemble" line we'd all been waiting for.
As far as satisfying payoffs, this was a big one, perhaps the biggest in a movie chock full of them, which is why our friends at Diamond Select Toys have put together the new Marvel "Avengers: Endgame" Captain America 1/6 Scale Mini-Bust. The Marvel Cinematic Universe has bestowed upon us a number of beloved pairings. There's Steve Rogers/Peggy Carter, Steve Rogers/Bucky Barnes, and Steve Rogers/Sam Wilson. Of course, there are others that don't include Captain America too. For instance, thanks to "She-Hulk: Attorney At Law," we can add Wong and Madisynn King to the list of Marvel's fan-favorite duos.
Benedict Wong and Patty Guggenheim's characters from the fourth episode of the Jade Giantess' Disney+ series were brought together thanks to the second rate magic of Donny Blaze. But thanks to a mutual love of "The Sopranos" and froyo, Madisynn and Wongers became fast friends. During Marvel Studios' presentation at this year's D23 Expo, Kevin Feige and co. showed plenty of exciting footage and made some major announcements. One of the biggest revelations from the panel was the official line up for the team featured in "Thunderbolts."
The Phase Five finale, written by "Black Widow" scribe Eric Pearson and directed by "Robot & Frank" filmmaker Jake Schreier, is being called Marvel's answer to "The Suicide Squad." Like DC's reluctant team of villains, the Thunderbolts are also a collection of rogues dabbling in super heroics. However, they started as a front for the Masters of Evil to pose as heroes during a time when the Avengers were presumed dead. Eventually, rather than real villains, the team was made up of reformed evil-doers and other figures looking for redemption. And that seems to be the version we're going to see in the MCU.

Anthony Mackie and the stars of Captain America: New World Order got a warm welcome at D23, with a number of new and old MCU actors officially announced to return to the fold.
Tim Blake Nelson, who last appeared in 2008’s Incredible Hulk, will return as The Leader. Carl Lumbly is back as original super soldier Isaiah Bradley after playing him in Falcon and the Winter Soldier. Danny Ramirez returns as Joaquin Torres, while MCU newcomer Shira Haas will play Israeli hero Sabra.
Mackie has played Sam Wilson since 2014’s Captain America: The Winter Soldier, spending much of that time as the hero The Falcon in films such as Captain America: Civil War (2016). But by the end of Avengers: Endgame (2019), it was clear that Wilson would eventually step into the role of Captain America after Steve Rogers (Chris Evans) gave him his shield.

A new Marvel video game has been announced via a teaser trailer that was revealed during Disney's D23 Expo, which is happening as we speak. While the game may be largely a mystery, as it doesn't even have a title yet, this trailer is sure to raise some eyebrows and generate a whole lot of curiosity. For one, it takes place during World War II rather than a modern-day setting.
Naturally, that's a great place for Captain America to show up -- and he's certainly here! But he's not alone, as some other heroes are joining in on the action as well. Who will be taking on Hydra in the shadows with Cap? Black Panther, for one, but that's not T'Challa! We're actually looking at his grandfather, Azzuri, according to the official synopsis:

"She-Hulk: Attorney at Law" has carved out a distinctively-meta niche in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, complete with enough fourth wall breaks and hero/villain in jokes to make even the most clued-up Marvel lovers feel seen. Of course, it won't be every fan's cup of tea, but it's hard to deny that Jennifer Walters' (Tatiana Maslany) casual obsession with Steve Rogers (a.k.a. Captain America) is one of the best parts of the new Disney+ series.
The first episode of "She-Hulk" hilariously resolved a lingering question that the Star-Spangled Man left behind in his wake: Did Steve Rogers die a virgin? And while the answer seemed to close the chapter on what might have been a series-long joke, series director Kat Coiro teased that there'd be more to come before the end of the series' nine-episode run. "It's something that comes back," Coiro told Total Film. "That's all I'll say.

Ethan Peck's first professional acting credit came in 1995 with an appearance on the short-lived ABC crime drama "Charlie Grace" with Mark Harmon and Leelee Sobieski. He was nine. At age 13, he appeared in the Olson Twins vehicle "Passport to Paris" before landing a notable gig as the young Kelso in flashback scenes on "That '70s Show." This would only be the first time Peck would play a "legacy" character. In addition to Kelso, Peck inherited the role of Patrick Verona from Heath Ledger in the TV adaptation of "10 Things I Hate About You."
The most notable legacy character in Peck's career to date has, of course, been Spock from "Star Trek," a role he inherited from Leonard Nimoy. Peck's version of Spock fills out the character's backstory for the decade immediately prior to the events of the original series, wherein audiences learned that he had a long lost...

Picking a favorite Marvel character can feel like navigating a fandom minefield. Any of the original Avengers, from Tony Stark to Steve Rogers to Natasha Romanoff, come with their own set of baggage, while some of the best new characters remain as-yet unproven as large-scale heroes. But if there's one major player in the Marvel Cinematic Universe who is capable of side-stepping all drama and scrutiny, inevitably landing near the top of fans' best character lists, it's Groot. Groot is cute. Groot is helpful. Groot loves to say "I am Groot." He's a trusty, sassy companion and a hero in his own right. He's also a sentient tree.
The character, who is voiced by Vin Diesel, has gone through more design changes than most of his fellow Avengers. At the end of the first "Guardians of the Galaxy" film in 2014, Groot sacrificed himself to save Starlord (Chris Pratt), Rocket (Bradley Cooper...

As of this writing, the Marvel Cinematic Universe consists of 29 films and 7 Disney+ shows, with more than a dozen new projects on the way. That's a lot of content, and it's full of superheroes and villains with varying power sets, as well as the weapons they wield. Honestly, if you're not an avid comic book reader, it can be overwhelming to keep track of it all without a notepad. Thankfully, we're here to help. With the end of Phase 4 quickly approaching, we thought it was time to give a quick rundown of the most powerful weapons in the MCU.
Some of these weapons make our heroes mightier, while others corrupt those who wield them. In extreme cases, these objects can even reshape reality itself. Any of these armaments would be considered powerful in the real world, of course, but this is a universe where supersoldiers and aliens clash on a regular basis; in the MCU,...

No matter how popular Iron Man and Black Panther were, the MCU really came together for most casual viewers when the primary villain took center stage. After years of cameos and hints, Thanos the Mad Titan fully emerged in Avengers: Infinity War, giving the previous decade of movies renewed focus and purpose.
Although we know that Jonathan Majors’s Kang the Conqueror will be the overall bad guy in Marvel’s Phases 4 through 6, aka The Multiverse Saga, he’s very much in the nascent stages. We met a variant of Kang in the finale to Loki, the chatty He Who Remains, who warned about an evil counterpart on his way. And we know that Kang will arrive in full in next year’s Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. After 29 movies, seven Disney+ series, and nine tangentially connected television series, we know the characters of the MCU pretty well. We know that Nick Fury is the one-eyed man with all the secrets. We know that one-time Captain America Steve Rogers retired after traveling through time to return the Infinity Stones used to defeat Thanos. And we know that good boy Peter Parker is rebuilding his life as Spider-Man after the events of Spider-Man: No Way Home.
But what if we were wrong? What if the characters we thought we knew and understood were all a lie, secretly using their positions in the public trust to launch a world-dominating attack? That’s the central hook of Secret Invasion, a long-in-development Disney+ series that may have major repercussions for the MCU.
The First Invasion
As is often the case, the series takes its name from a previously published Marvel comic book.

San Diego Comic Con’s Marvel Studios panel covered a lot of ground, mapping out a whole slate of future projects through 2025.
But first some recap: the first three Phases in the MCU were pretty self-explanatory. Each Phase came to an end with an Avengers movie (and maybe a comedic solo film follow-up to act as a denouement). It was all building towards the big battle against Thanos, and once that was done and we saw some aftershocks via Spider-Man: Far From Home, it was time for Phase 4. While there have been plenty of fun movies and shows this phase, it also feels rather formless, leaving us to wonder what this has all been leading to.
Now we know. Phase 4 ends with Black Panther: Wakanda Forever this November. Phase 5 will quickly follow, starting with Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania in February and Secret Invasion in Spring 2023. But this phase will only last a mere 17 months.

Hey, Marvel movie fans. We are back with another update for the MCU (Marvel Cinematic Universe). It turns out that Marvel Studios is definitely ready to move forward with the making of a new Captain America 4 movie as they have officially hired Nigerian American filmmaker Julius Onah to direct it according to the folks over at the Hollywood Reporter. In this particular installment, it's reported that actor Anthony Mackie's character Sam Wilson will be taking over the Captain America duties instead of Chris Evans' Steve Rogers character. This is due to the latest developments that occurred in the 2021 Marvel Disney+ series titled, "The Falcon and the Winter Soldier." It featured Sam Wilson finally getting over all of his doubts of becoming the new Captain America and taking the plunge.

Marvel continues to tease the long-awaited crossover that fans have been dying to see — the emergence of the X-Men into the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
For years, the X-Men were distinctly kept out of the MCU narrative due to rights issues (Bryan Singer’s X-Men films of the early 2000s remained under the ownership of 20th Century Fox.) But since Disney’s acquisition of Fox in 2019, the addition of mutants to the universe has been imminent. Three years later, we’re finally seeing the pieces slowly but surely come together in what points to a full debut for the X-Men into the MCU.
In the trail of breadcrumbs that Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige and team continue to leave behind throughout Phase 4, the latest development might be the most important of all. Following a big reveal at the close of the Ms.

The upcoming Apple Studios film "Project Artemis" has been largely shrouded in secrecy, but there is some news to report: The feature has done some actor and director trading. Chris Evans has had to leave the cast, according to THR, and will be replaced by Channing Tatum, who is reportedly in negotiations. He'll be starring opposite Scarlett Johansson. No Marvel reunion for Steve Rogers and Natasha Romanoff this time around.
The news comes just a week after "Project Artemis" lost Jason Bateman as a director. Bateman leaving the film was cited as due to creative differences, and that, it seems, caused a scheduling issue for...

Chris Evans isn’t indulging the speculation about his potential return as Steve Rogers in “Captain America 4.”

Either Evans’ Twitter game is strong or he is trolling. We tend to think the latter because why would he spoil a huge surprise? When it was first reported back in 2021 that he was in talks to return as the First Avenger he reacted similarly and tweeted “news to me.”

The big screen debut of Anthony Mackie’s Captain America just took a big step toward materializing.
The Hollywood Reporter reports that Nigerian-American filmmaker Julius Onah, best known his work on the sci-fi sequel “The Cloverfield Paradox” and the Sundance drama “Luce” is directing “Captain America 4.” The currently-untitled sequel is being written by “The Falcon and the Winter Soldier” creator Malcolm Spellman and one of the show’s staff writers, Dalan Musson.
After years of working on short films, Onah made his feature directorial debut on the 2015 crime thriller “The Girl Is in Trouble.” He followed that by directing “The Cloverfield Paradox,” which famously debuted on Netflix without any warning following a 2018 Super Bowl commercial. His most recent film was the 2019 Sundance hit “Luce,” an adaption of J.C. Lee’s play of the same name starring Naomi Watts and Octavia Spencer.

Nigerian-American filmmaker Julius Onah, perhaps best known for helming the 2018 thriller The Cloverfield Paradox, will direct the fourth installment of the Captain America film franchise for Marvel Studios.
Anthony Mackie is starring in the feature, reprising his long-time Marvel character of Sam Wilson, but not, however, Wilson’s long-time alter ego and Captain America sidekick, Falcon. That is thanks to the events of 2021’s Marvel’s Disney+ series, Falcon and the Winter Soldier, which saw Wilson, after much self-doubt, finally accept the shield and mantle of Captain America.

Chris Evans recently said that making his Marvel Cinematic Universe debut as the Human Torch — the character he played in two non-mcu "Fantastic Four" movies in the 2000s — would be "an easier sell" for him than coming back to it as Captain America. Evans seems content to end his run as Cap where he left it, with Steve Rogers having aged into an old man after going back in time and living happily ever after with Peggy Carter (Hayley Atwell) in "Avengers: Endgame." Currently, Evans has no plans that we know of to return to the MCU in any capacity, cameos...

Ever since Disney’s high-profile merger with 20th Century Fox (now 20th Century Studios) in 2019, superhero fans have been eagerly waiting to see characters from Fox’s “X-Men” franchise added to Disney’s Marvel Cinematic Universe. Certain characters from the long-running “X-Men” series will undeniably be difficult to recast. But this week, two of Marvel’s top directors came up with an idea to get the process started.
Speaking on the ComicBook.com Phase Zero podcast, Anthony and Joe Russo were asked if there was another superhero they would like to see their “The Gray Man” star Chris Evans play. Of the big three who founded the Avengers, no one would have expected Thor to be the last one standing. Iron Man launched the Marvel Cinematic Universe in 2008 and Captain America: The Winter Soldier is considered by many to be one of the best in the franchise. As we head toward the close of the MCU’s phase four, Tony and Steve are long gone, and Thor is about the star in his fourth solo film.

This post contains major spoilers for WandaVision, Loki, and What If…?.
Mere weeks after it debuted in theaters, the latest Marvel Cinematic Universe entry Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness hit Disney+ on June 22. Great news for fans of superheroes, but there’s always a catch! Multiverse of Madness is the 28th feature film in the franchise, and that’s not counting numerous one-shots and television specials. So while the movie is explicitly a sequel to 2016’s Doctor Strange, which traced Dr. Stephen Strange’s journey from arrogant surgeon to Master of the Mystic Arts, it has more in common with several other MCU properties, especially the TV series WandaVision, Loki, and What If…?.
Fortunately, you don’t need to travel to Karmar-Taj and secure a Time Stone to be ready to watch Multiverse of Madness on day one. With this brief refresher, you’ll be caught up on...
