Mattel exec producer Rob Hudnut added at the time, “We are great believers in the power of little girls.”

"A true classic never goes out of style."
Cult of Chucky in the seventh installment in the Child's Play franchise, and today we have a teaser trailer for the film along with a synopsis offering us details on what this new horror story will entail. Who would have thought that this franchise would last so long?!
The film isn't supposed to start shooting until next week, so there's no footage from it in the teaser. This promo just uses footage from the previous films. Cult of Chucky is written and directed by Don Mancini, who co-wrote the original film and also wrote and directed the last two film installments including 2004’s Seed of Chucky and 2013’s Curse of Chucky.
Brad Dourif will return to provide the voice of Chucky, and the actor’s daughter Fiona is set to reprise her role of Nica Pierce. The sequel also brings back Alex Vincent and Jennifer Tilly.

Foley most recently directed 12 episodes of House of Cards. His film credits include At Close Range, Glengarry Glenn Ross, Who's That Girl and Perfect Stranger, among others. With his Lacma Live Read series, Jason Reitman definitely knows A-b-c: A-Always, B-Be, C-Casting unexpected actors for roles. There was last year's all-black reading of Reservoir Dogs and now the upcoming all-female reading of the hypermasculine Glengarry Glenn Ross. The cast is as follows: Robin Wright as Al Pacino's Ricky Roma character, Catherine O'Hara as Jack Lemmon's Shelley Levene, Maria Bello as Ed Harris's Dave Moss, Mae Whitman as Kevin Spacey's John Williamson, and Allison Janney will read Alan Arkin's George Aaronow, which is a particularly inspired choice. (Alec Baldwin's character has not been cast yet.) The February 21 event is sold out, but there's always a wait-list line. (It's supposed to be in the 80s today in L.A., so just go wait outside now.)...

Looks like we’ll be getting another movie with the awesome character, Charles “Chucky” Lee Ray, along with the character’s original creator (Don Mancini) set to write/produce/direct, and Brad Dourif (Chucky’s original voice).
The film is in production as we speak in Winnipeg, Canada, and will be released straight-to-home video.
This is meant to be a return to the horror emphasis of the original, dialing back on the humorous tone present in Bride Of Chucky and Seed Of Chucky.

The Child's Play horror franchise is getting a sixth installment. It's been announced that the Curse of Chucky has officially started shooting in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. I've never been the biggest fan of Chucky, they haven't made for the best horror films, and I doubt I'll end up watching this one. For those of you who do like the franchise here's the synopsis:
Nica (Fiona Dourif) is grieving over the gruesome suicide of her mother when her domineering older sister Barb (Danielle Bisutti) arrives with her young family in tow to help settle their mother's affairs. As the sisters butt heads over Nica's plans for the future, Barb's young daughter comforts herself with a grinning, red-haired talking doll named Chucky (voiced again by Brad Dourif) that recently arrived mysteriously in the mail. But as a string of brutal murders begins to terrorize the household, Nica suspects the doll may hold the key to the bloodshed.

Forget Seed of Chucky and the obnoxious kid Glen. Forget Bride of Chucky and Jennifer Tilly’s voluptuous plastic figure. Curse of Chucky, which has officially now begun shooting in Canada, will not only bring the focus back on the possessed “Good Guy” doll but also bring back the thrills and scares that highlighted the first three films in the series. The expected to be direct-to-dvd sixth installment looks to abandon the self-aware, comical nature that has guided the series in the last two films and seems to head in more of the terrorizing nature that fans have anxiously been waiting for. Now that production has begun, the official plot and a quote from the production has emerged.

Michael C here. On my list of cinematic obsessions the Alec Baldwin scene from Glengarry Glenn Ross ranks near the top, alongside stuff like the zither music from The Third Man and the ending of Barton Fink. Part of that obsession is my ironclad belief that Baldwin should have won the Supporting Oscar hands down, no contest.
Those who disagree could justifiably point to the complexity of Gene Hackman's and Jaye Davidson's nominated performances that year in Unforgiven and The Crying Game, or, for that matter, the greater range shown by Alec's Glengarry co-star Al Pacino. Baldwin's performance shows no such range. We don't see his softer side, he doesn't reveal any hidden dimensions, we don't even learn his name. He just struts in and delivers a seven minute tour de force of invective.
It's an unforgettable scene but is that enough? Can a one-note performance truly be considered great?...

Two badasses and one of the 1980's most lovable geeks are set to star in Dead in Tombstone, the Roel Reine-directed action adventure film that begins filming next week. Before you ask why we're covering it, check out the synopsis - with Micky Rourke playing the devil, how could we resist?
Deadline reports that Anthony Michael Hall, Danny Trejo (pictured), and the aforementioned Mickey Rourke will star in Dead in Tombstone, written by Shane Kuhn and Brendan Cowles. Mike Elliott and Glenn Ross are producing through 1440 Productions, and Universal Pictures will distribute.
Trejo plays Guerrero Hernandez, leader of the Blackwater Gang of outlaws. Universal Pictures has officially started on production for a new untitled Wolfman movie that will go straight to DVD and Blu-ray. The new werewolf thriller is set to be released on on Halloween of next year 2012. Even though it wont be coming to the big screen there's no way it could be any worse than Universal's last Wolfman film, which was a giant werewolf turd. I was so disappointed in that film. This new movie will in no way be connected with the latter, so it's something that might be worth looking forward to, if your into these kinds of horror films like myself.

They remade The Wolfman a couple of years ago and did a decent job with that. This new werewolf movie from Universal takes place in 19th century Europe so I’m not sure why they didn’t just make a sequel, but this looks good. Here’s what we know about it at this point:
Universal City, California, October 31, 2011 – There’s no safe place to hide as the all-new supernatural Untitled Werewolf Thriller begins principal photography in and around Bucharest, Romania. Universal celebrates its storied history of creatures and horror with an exhilarating original adventure that embraces the popular cultural resurgence of the age-old werewolf myth. Breathtaking action and nail-biting suspense collide as an army of bounty hunters descend on a tiny hamlet in search of the most terrifying monster they have ever fought. Even though it's yet to be given an official title, though we kind of like Untitled Werewolf Thriller, Universal's follow-up to its dud of a wolfman flick, 2010's The Wolfman, is already beginning to snarl!

This summer we started to hear rumblings that Universal was prepping a new Wolfman movie [1], and that this might essentially be a reboot of the character, and one that acts like the recent The Wolfman, starring Benicio Del Toro, didn't happen. Those reports were partially correct. Roger Corman veteran Louis Morneau (Joy Ride 2: Dead Ahead; The Hitcher II: I’ve Been Waiting; Bats), tipped as the director for this project [2] a few months back, started production today on a film called, for now, Untitled Werewolf Thriller. Stephen Rea, Steven Bauer, Ed Quinn, Nia Peeples, Guy Wilson, Adam Croasdell and Rachel Dipillo are in the cast. But this won't be a theatrical release; this one is a Blu-ray and DVD-only affair that will arrive in time for Halloween 2012. Here's a big chunk o' press release to give you many of the details: There’s no safe place to hide as...
