Queen Elizabeth II has requested television time to sign what is being called a historic pledge of non-discrimination in the Commonwealth. "We are implacably opposed to all forms of discrimination, whether rooted in gender, race, colour, creed, political belief or other grounds." Other grounds is meant to refer to Glbt people, but toned down to defer to members of the Commonwealth that still have draconian gay laws. While it sounds like a cop out to me, diplomatic sources say "The impact of this statement on gay and women’s rights should not be underestimated. Nothing this progressive has ever been approved by the United Nations. And it is most unusual for the Queen to request to sign documents in public, never mind call the cameras in."

That didn't take long! Shortly after leaving "Supernatural" to work on her own projects, former showrunner Sera Gamble has landed a deal with ABC to develop a medical drama about a neurosurgeon who suffers a traumatic brain injury.
Gamble is teaming up with Greg Berlanti of "Brothers and Sisters" and "Political Animals" for the project, which is part of ABC's development slate for Fall 2013.
ABC has made a script commitment plus penalty -- which basically means that the writer and producer will be paid a fee if the pilot doesn't get produced, increasing the chance that it will get a pickup.
In the show, neurosurgeon Dr. Steven Saylor becomes a "medical anomaly" after a catastrophic accident, and he's forced to enter a new specialty as an internist at his hospital. Gamble will write the script and executive produce, with Berlanti as executive producer and Melissa Kellner as co-executive producer. The project is from Warner Bros.

What? You Wouldn't Pay To Read My Column! Gasp!
First off, apologies to anyone who suffered a heart attack last week after reading my fake item that Glee was killing off Blaine! But, hey, I have to entertain myself somehow. Just be happy I didn't announce that CBS had bought the show and was going to completely de-gay it.
Btw, I must say my feelings were so hurt by my other April Fool's joke when not a single person said they'd be willing to sign up for AfterElton.com if we had a paywall!
Oh, well... At least I know now how much you care. On my own....
So what's up this week? Hmm, well, I think I'm going to get to do a set visit to a certain show a lot of you folks are interested in, but I don't want to jinx that, so I can't tell you which show just yet.
