- Carl-Heinz Schroth was born on June 29, 1902 in Innsbruck, Austria-Hungary. He was an actor and director, known for Jakob und Adele (1982), Congress Dances (1931) and Fräulein vom Amt (1954). He was married to Ruth Hausmeister, Carola Krauskopf, Barbara Schroth and Karin Jacobsen. He died on July 19, 1989 in Munich, Bavaria, West Germany.

- Son of Heinrich Schroth and Else Ruttersheim, stepson of Käthe Haack, half-brother of Heinz Schroth aka Heinz Sailer and Hannelore Schroth.
- Born to actor parents. Studied dramatic arts, law and literature in Munich. Acting classes under Arnold Marlé. On stage from 1922. From 1927 to 1941, ensemble member of the Hamburg Kammerspielen, subsequently in Vienna and Berlin. Prominent screen career from the 1950's in character and supporting roles, as likeable underdogs, humorous sidekicks, butlers, secretaries and clowns. Occasionally active as a stage director and German dubbing voice for Wilfrid Hyde-White and Oscar Homolka.
