Bryan's father, Shadie Simon, a high school English professor, wrote educational film scripts for Coronet Films. Bryan acted in several of these films when he was in grade school.
Bryan met Jay Johnson for the first time when filming his documentary, I'm No Dummy. They became close friends and Jay asked Bryan to direct the big screen adaptation of his Tony Award® winning Broadway show, Jay Johnson: The Two & Only!.
Bryan directed his first professional stage production at age 17.

His favorite sports team is the Chicago Bears.

Bryan's first book was published on April 6, 2021, a followup to his I'M NO DUMMY documentary, the book is entitled I'M NO DUMMY Everyday: 365 Days of Ventriloquial Oddities, Curiosities, and Fun Facts.
