Charlie Sheen finally got what he wanted in a "Major League" reunion -- well, sorta -- but with a baseball movie curve ball. Sheen got together Sunday -- seemingly for the first time in a long time -- with his fellow 'Major League' costars Corbin Bernsen and Tom Berenger for a little baseball softball action at the real-life "Field of Dreams" from the movie of the same name. Sources close to the event tell TMZ...

[[tmz:video id="0_zx9bge77"]] He's the best tumbler in the history of Major League Baseball -- but was habitual flipper Ozzie Smith good enough to make the Olympic gymnastics team?? That's exactly what we asked the Hall of Famer when we saw him in L.A. Thursday -- and he seems pretty confident ... had he set his mind to it back in the day. Smith was one hell of an athlete -- and seems fairly confident that he had...

Carmike’s largest shareholder continued today to rally fellow investors to oppose its $1.1 billion (including debt) sale to AMC Entertainment. Mittleman Bros. Managing Partner Chris Mittleman charged the exhibition chain with trying to “obfuscate the relativity low” valuation in the deal in a letter to CEO David Passman and Chairman Roland Smith filed at the SEC. The investor, who has about 7.1% of Carmike’s shares, also says that the company showed “poor negotiating…...

In early 2014, Universal Pictures’ Ride Along became an instant hit, grossing more than $150 million worldwide as audiences fell hard for the unlikely comic pairing of Ice-Cube and Kevin Hart. And while most sequels don’t begin preproduction until well after moviegoers experience the first, Ride Along 2 was a follow up that the filmmakers knew they had to do.
Starring Ice Cube, Kevin Hart, Ken Jeong, Benjamin Bratt, Olivia Munn, Bruce McGill, Tika Sumpter and Sherri Shepherd, the sequel picks up about a year after our heroes’ last adventure. Plans for a quick trip to Miami go awry when their unorthodox policing gets them into a compromising situation that threatens to derail a major case…and Ben and Angela’s upcoming wedding day. The stars were out in St. Louis last night. One star anyway – none other than Oscar winner Kevin Costner, here hosting a sceening of his new movie Black Or White. In the film, produced by Costner and written and directed by Mike Binder, Costner plays a grieving widower is drawn into a custody battle over his half black granddaughter, whom he helped raise her entire life.
We Are Movie Geeks was at the screening and took these photos of Costner as he made his way down the red carpet at the Ronnies Cinema in South County. There he was interviewed by the local TV stations before stopping to saying hello and shake hands with We Are Movie Geeks. St. Louis baseball Cardinals legend Ozzie Smith was on hand and presented the actor with a Cards jersey with ‘Crash’ printed on it – a reference to the Crash Davis character he played in Bull Durham.

Now this was a good-looking throw. Of course, it could have gone into center field or grazed the first base umpire and still have been a good-looking throw. Jon Hamm was in the house at Busch Stadium last night to throw out the ceremonial first pitch before the St. Louis Cardinals took on (and ultimately beat) the Cincinnati Reds, and—just like the Mad Men star himself—the toss had a certain effortless grace. The St. Louis native, sporting his usual between-projects beard and wearing a No. 23 jersey, took the field to major applause and had no problem getting the ball to home plate, where Hall of Fame shortstop Ozzie Smith was waiting. Afterward, the two hometown faves shared a bromantic hug...

50 Cent threw an embarrassingly bad first pitch before Tuesday’s New York Mets game.
50 Cent's Horrible First Pitch - Video
The rapper, real name Curtis Jackson, was clad in a Mets jersey with ‘Jackson’ written on the back – the number, of course, was 50. He took to the pitcher’s mound and threw the ceremonial first pitch, which sailed far left (to the right of the catcher) and narrowly missed the cameraman.
“And his first pitch is just a bit outside,” the commentator said as the pitch flew directly towards a huddle of cameramen.
Many were surprised by 50 Cent’s lack of ability on the baseball field, considering his tough-guy image and physical prowess, but 50 laughed off any critics. He was seen laughing right after the pitch and he later posted a short video to Instagram, jokingly defending himself, captioning it, “I’m a hustler not a damn ball player. Lmao.

Ozzie Smith, the former shortstop for the St. Louis Cardinals who was recently inducted into the St. Louis Cardinals Hall of Fame, is speaking out about teaming up with Budweiser to make Major League Baseball’s Opening Day a national holiday by submitting a petition to the White House. “There was a survey done recently said that 22 million people have played hookie at some point in time on Opening Day,” Smith told Uinterview exclusively. “We’re trying to get 100 thousand signatures to make it an official holiday.”
Smith is highly regarded as one of baseball’s greatest defenders, having been inducted into Major League Baseball’s Hall of Fame in 2002. During the span of his career (1978-1996), Smith, known by many as “The Wizard,” for his skills in the infield, set the Mlb record for career assists for a shortstop with 8,375. The masks from Lionsgate’s You’Re Next are descending on cities around the country and have found their way to St. Louis.
There is no escaping the animal-masked, ax-wielding murderers in this devilishly smart and horrifying thriller that will keep you on the edge of your seat. The Davison family planned on the perfect reunion, but didn’t expect a violent intrusion… could you survive if there was nowhere to hide?
As you can see in these shots of the Animals, no one – including Al MacInnis, Jack Buck, Ozzie Smith and Chuck Berry – is safe in our fair city.
But beware – they are on the move and might be in your neighborhood already.
Lionsgate’s You’Re Next takes one of the most terrifying film genres, the home-invasion movie, and turns it on its head—adding dimension, drama, and bone-chilling realism to one of life’s most universal fears.

Have you ever noticed that we as international consumers of pop culture are exposed to an inordinate amount of things named "Oz"? There are people named "Oz." There are television shows named "Oz." There are movies released 74 years apart named "Oz." Certainly, there is an unspoken worldwide fascination with those two letters in that specific order.
It's entirely possible, in fact, that we've reached a point where we cannot move forward as a society until we have in place an unofficial ranking of all things Oz, especially with this week's upcoming release of "Oz: The Great and Powerful." There are just too many damn Ozzes (sp).
Counting down from 10-1, here is the Oz pecking order, as it stands right now:
10. Oz from the American Pie movies (as portrayed by Chris Klein)
If you want to get technical, Chris Klein's character in the "American Pie" movies is actually named "Chris Ostreicher,...

If Nucky Thompson was losing his grip over the dealings of Atlantic City last week, he reaffirmed them with a bang with this week. Plagued by visions of Jimmy throughout his church visit, it seemed that his guilt was getting to Nucky, putting him on Billie Kent’s sofa like a man with no place else to go. When he and Owen take a visit to find Roland Smith’s storage house, the arrival of Waxy Gordon’s men puts Nucky, Owen and Roland in a pressure-pot situation as they hide in the basement overnight. Tensions are already clearly evident between Nucky and Owen, as he sees his young protégée being deferred to more than Nucky himself. Perhaps he sees Jimmy’s ghost in every corner now, expecting every younger man working under him to turn on him, but he certainly isn’t in the business of taking chances any more.

This week, "Boardwalk Empire" explored Owen Sleater's relationship with Nucky Thompson, and got us wondering -- will Owen survive 1923?
In many ways, Sleater (Charlie Cox) has been repositioned in Season 3 to fill the Jimmy Darmody (Michael Pitt) void -- Nucky's young and handsome right hand man. But whereas Jimmy was also a sort of protege, Nucky doesn't seem to be grooming Owen for any eventual leadership. Nuck treats Sleater as hired muscle and spends much of the episode reminding him of his inferiority -- from the opening scene's demanding phone call to the moment he puts a bullet in Roland Smith's head.
HBO just renewed "Boardwalk Empire" for a fourth season, so a slew of characters will be back for another year in the roaring '20s. But will Owen Sleater return? The series has a reputation for shocking character kill-offs, but as the show develops, its creative team...

Boardwalk Empire served up one of its most delectable installments this week. While there was a little inconsistency at times with the show's main man Nucky, "Blue Bell Boy" delivered in so many other ways that in the end it didn't really matter.
Last week Nucky spoke of how he wanted his business to run itself, how he wanted to free from all the little mundane decision making and the stress it causes him. This week, however, he was back micromanaging more than ever.
Owen's concern about involving the feds, crooked or not, was a valid point to make. Owen, you could see, has taken on more responsibility; he now has guys coming to speak to him in whispers. This was not lost on Nucky and why I'm sure he felt it so important to send Owen a message by shooting young Roland Smith.
I was surprised when that scene...

For years, singers have done just about anything they could to get the attention the judges on "American Idol." There have been wacky costumes, shameless flirtation with the panel and some truly horrible original songs. But one surefire way to pique the interest of Randy, Steven and J.Lo (not to mention Simon and Paula in the past) is to reveal in your bio that your dad is already a bold-faced name.
The latest case-in-point is Jane Carrey, the 24-year-old daughter of actor Jim Carrey, who tried out for the show Sunday night. The judges enjoyed her rendition of Bonnie Raitt's "Something to Talk About," while former Fly Girl Jennifer Lopez remembered seeing baby Jane on the set of "In Living Color...

"American Idol" was graced by its second progeny of a 1980s St. Louis Cardinals player when 15-year-old Shannon Magrane auditioned in Savannah. She is the daughter of Joe Magrane, a pitcher in the Majors from 1987 to 1996, finishing third in Rookie of the Year voting in '87.
Anyway. Shannon auditioned with "Hold on Me" by Etta James and we loved her cool, jazzy voice, especially considering her young age. The judges also praised her "nerves of steel" performing in front of her gaggle of friends and family.
There was also an outstandingly awkward moment when Steven Tyler tells Joe Magrane his daughter is hot. *headsmack* We hope to see her later on - she can duet with Nico Smith, son of Ozzie Smith. Ozzie and Shannon's dad Joe played together on the St. Louis Cardinals.

The news of Pia “I Got Voted Off ‘Idol’ Way Early And All I Got Was This Awesome Record Deal” Toscano joining Interscope’s roster surprised no one, except maybe my cat Moo Shu. (Homegirl’s a Voice fan. She thinks Idol is so seven years ago.) Toscano already shattered records by being the lowest-placing Idol also-ran to nab a significant major label deal in the show’s ten year history. (She was ninth! Ninth, I say!)
While we wait to see whether Pia becomes the next Jennifer Hudson or Kristy Lee Cook, let’s look back at the careers of previous ninth-place finishers to see how they’ve fared.
Season One: Jim Verraros
Jim was our inaugural “token sob story” contestant, and he parlayed his name recognition into movie roles in popular gay indie flicks. (Eating Out 2: Sloppy Seconds might be my fave sequel title since Electric Boogaloo.

St. Louis won by banning together via Fcebook to win the online contest with the most votes. Good job Stl, now if only we could all do something about the pot holes… The Red Carpet was a barrel of monkeys! It was super fun! Local celebrities Ozzie Smith, Chingy, Murphy Lee and some of the Rams players all walked the red Carpet… and even Don King showed up. (You will find out in my video why this is so funny. Michael Lynche caught a big break this week when the "American Idol" judges used their second-ever save to keep him in the competition. This got us thinking about other reality-show second chances, including Speidi on "I'm a Celebrity ... Get Me Out of Here!" and Chris March from "Project Runway," but my personal favorite was left out. While Matt Giraud received the inaugural judges' save last year, he wasn't the first comeback kid on "Idol."
No, that title belongs to Nikko Smith, the season four R&B crooner who was voted off only to be invited back to the competition when Mario Vazquez made the brilliant decision to pursue bigger opportunities and opt out of "Idol." (How's that working out, Mario?) Smith was one of four contestants eliminated from the top 16, but he ended up squeezing four extra weeks out of the competition, making it to the top...
