All Elite Wrestling (Aew) is celebrating the third anniversary of its weekly Wednesday night show, “Dynamite,” and company leader Tony Khan is thrilled to have seen the program grow by leaps and bounds in that time.
“I think we’ve done about 160 episodes of ‘Dynamite’ now, and we’ve learned a lot in the last several years that I think has helped improve the flow of the show,” Khan said in an interview with Variety. “I think we’ve developed a lot of new stars in these three years to where we can put on more consistent great cards week to week.”
The very first episode of “Dynamite” aired on Oct. 2, 2019 on TNT (the show now airs on TBS), but that was not the first Aew card to air on television. The company had already run multiple pay-per-views prior to “Dynamite’s” launch, something Khan credits for a lack of...

The Suicide Squad needs a new mission for the sequel to the academy award winning superhero film. Could The Rock be that mission?
Back in 2014 it was announced that The Rock would be playing the DC Anti-Hero Black Adam. At the time little was known about when the project would start moving, but we did believe he would be going up against Shazam! As time went on, we found out that Black Adam would not be appearing in the Shazam! film. In fact there is a possibility that the two films are completely separate. Recently we learned of casting of Shazam, his child form alter ego Billy Batson, as well as a possible villain for the film. Now, we finally get word on when we might see The Rock’s Black Adam. And word is, it is not in Shazam!
Now this is still strictly rumor, so take this with giant a grain of salt.

It was supposed to be the Coachella of the Bahamas. It was supposed to be a VIP experience. It was supposed to be a long weekend filled with lounging on the beach, occasionally interrupted with A-list run-ins and topline musical acts. It’s weird for a show to feel like it’s in a huge transition five seasons in, but that’s where we’re at with Arrow. I have been happier with this season than any other, but for some reason it struck me early in tonight’s episode how incredibly gloomy this show is. Even when it’s trying not to be (and it was working hard at that tonight), it’s still grim and pitch black compared to the rest of the CW DC shows. It’s not necessarily a bad thing, it’s just a little jarring when you go from watching a gaggle of people...

In a move as inevitable as The Rock dropping a People’s Elbow on somebody at WrestleMania, WWE have released the third in their Attitude Era series, focusing this time on previously unreleased content. This gives this volume a slightly different feel to the previous two, but is a little hit and miss because of it.
What does work about this volume is drafting Corey Graves in to provide context and comment between each of the fifteen matches in the main feature. Graves brings an enthusiasm and knowledge to this role that others sometimes lack, namely John Bradshaw Layfield on the recent Us Championship release, and his comments are interesting and enlightening.
The choice of matches, too, is inspired with WWE digging deep to present several previously unreleased matches that are historically significant in the company’s history. The jewel in the crown of these has to be the first...

Chyna was planning a triumphant return to wrestling before she died in of apparent overdose last week, manager and longtime friend Anthony Anzaldo tells People.

WrestleMania returning to the New York City area was a dream come true for me, since it combined my favourite annual wrestling event with the city I love the most.
Early reports confirmed that The Rock would return for another match and this would also be Brock Lesnar’s first ‘Mania back since 2004 when the event was last held in the NY area. I was sold and promptly booked my flights.
After telling Billy Gunn to F**ck off and running up a $400 bar tab on someone else’s credit card, my friend John decided not to come back to WrestleMania. So, me and my other, more responsible buddies set off to the Big Apple for a week of wrestling festivities culminating at MetLife Stadium for what we hoped would be a great show.
In 2013, I decided to steer clear of the convention scene and enjoy a little more of New York.

The WWE Hall Of Fame began as a tribute to Andre The Giant just weeks after his passing in 1993 and has grown to become a fairly-respected institution recognizing all of professional wrestling’s greatest contributors. A few of those inductees are no doubt, surefire, “first ballot” (if the WWE had a voting process and ballots to go along with it) Hall Of Famers.
Even fewer of those contributors are marquee names that are capable of headlining the ceremony, drawing thousands of ticket sales. After all, the Hall Of Fame is more of a show now than it ever has been before and, like every other event that WWE puts on throughout the year, the final act must be worth the wait.

If you’re still a Dolph Ziggler fan in 2016, you’ve just sat through a year of storylines involving him being an actual home-wrecking bastard while dressed like Kip Winger’s wardrobe from 1984 threw up on him, and you still think he’s a babyface.
If you’re still a Dolph Ziggler fan in 2016, you’ve become used to disappointment, to perusing online wrestling fora for the dirt on why this latest push has been derailed, or the latest justification for why he’s being ‘buried’.
If you’re still a Dolph Ziggler fan in 2016, you’re a glutton for punishment – rather like the man himself – but I feel for you. I’ve been there. Eight years on from Nick Nemeth’s debut in the WWE under that name, there’s a lot wrong with Dolph Ziggler.
In many – well, ten – ways, I might actually hate Dolph Ziggler (kind of).

WWE has had a difficult year, in much the same way that a skunk has a difficult smell. Ratings have slipped to their lowest in almost 20 years, former legends have become persona non gratas, there’s a growing disconnect between fans and the superstars at the top of the card, and even Mick Foley is close to unsubscribing.
Even Mickles!
In WWE’s defence they’ve had a dreadful run of luck this year. Injuries have plagued the company with Cesaro, Rusev, Tyson Kidd, Seth Rollins, Daniel Bryan, Sami Zayn, Randy Orton, Sting, Nikki Bella, Jey Uso and more being forced to take significant time off, cutting down an already thin roster and often forcing the company to drastically change their plans at the last minute. In a parallel universe where none of these injuries happened, the company could be in much better shape.
Furthermore, it’s not exactly...

With so much praise constantly heaped onto the relatively short-lived period of the WWE known affectionately as the Attitude Era, it’s difficult to consider anything about it “underrated.” And yet, despite the legions of fans (yours truly included) that won’t shut up about how wonderful this time period was, there are still a few elements that remain under-appreciated by the masses.
For instances, the matches. For some weird reason, the actual wrestling that happened in the Attitude Era has been largely forgotten, save for a few key, epic in-ring duels. The focus tends to shift to the outrageous characters, entertaining promos, and ridiculous(ly delightful) storylines.
And that’s a real shame, because although it may not have been the peak of technical wrestling in the WWE, the Attitude Era served up what should have been some truly career-defining matches. For whatever reason, though, they were...

If you’re a wrestling fan you’ll know just how much the WWE loves Christmas. Seasonal shows have been a staple of their television output for as long as I can remember going as far back as Captain Lou Albano reading Christmas stories on WWE programming; through the Attitude era, where the fun of Xmas was juxaposed with the more hardcore on-screen action; to more recent episodes of Raw and the likes of the “Good Santa vs. Bad Santa” match between Mark Henry and Damien Sandow in 2013.
The WWE Christmas Collection sees Christmas come early to the WWE universe as “The Hardcore Legend” Mick Foley and his daughter Noelle (side note: I’m sure Foley’s daughter takes after her mothers side of ther family…) as they go on a quest to find Santa Claus, all the while reminiscing about classic WWE moments and matches from Christmas’ past. What’s the one thing that every single member of the WWE Universe has in common? Family. How have WWE ensured they garner a reaction from their Universe in a storyline more times than they would care to mention? Have a family at the centre of any commotion!
WWE is all about connecting with its Universe, and one of the easiest ways to do this is to play the family card; calling on those everyday scenarios that happen in every household and ramping them up to 11.
This is a tactic that has been used quite literally since the beginning of time and doesn’t seem to be letting up. After all, family storylines are often the most compelling inside the ring due to the backstories you can create; just look at The Undertaker and Kane as an example of this happening…

Can you believe it’s been nearly fifteen years since the Invasion angle? Fifteen years since Lance Storm showed up on Raw and blasted Perry Saturn with a superkick. Fifteen years since Ecw and WCW joined forces to try and take down Vince McMahon and the WWE. Fifteen years since WWE screwed up the biggest money angle in wrestling history…
How time flies, huh? A lot has happened in WWE in that time, obviously, and the wrestling landscape looks a lot different today. A lot had also happened to those that made up the WCW and Ecw Alliance. Made up of guys and gals from the recently closed companies (although a lot of them had been under WWE contract for some time), the invaders had very different fortunes when it came time for the angle to end – some didn’t even make it that far.

Out in limited release and available on VOD is the horror comedy with a fantasy twist, The Final Girls. From director Todd Strauss-Schulson (A Very Harold & Kumar Christmas), the film follows young Max (Taissa Farmiga) a year after her scream-queen mother (Malin Akerman) dies. When her cinephile friend invites her out to a celebratory screening of the film she was most famous for, Max and her group of friends are transported to the actual reality of the 80s horror slasher. Once there the group must find a way to survive the relentless, murdering Billy. That’s a lot of setup and yet the The Final Girls manages to be quite smooth and smart in the way things are laid out. While the film mostly plays for laughs instead of horror, there are some more interesting aspects working at the core of the film when it comes to Max and her...

The three minute spectacular details most of the Superstars that have made the cut in the new 127 character-strong roster, while also touching on the featured Stone Cold Steve Austin mode and showing what special guest inclusion The Terminator will look like.
The trailer represents the most revealing piece of footage released by 2K to date, and only goes to heighten expectations ahead of the game’s October 27 release date. Also released are a plethora of in-game footage in recent times, showcasing matches between the likes of Bray Wyatt and Dean Ambrose, Sting and Seth Rollins, D’Lo Brown and Billy Gunn, and also showing us what certain finisher moves will look like.
All of our WWE 2K16 coverage can be found here.

What has been billed as the final batch of Superstars for WWE 2K16 has been confirmed this afternoon.
Here are the names in full: Bray Wyatt, Mikey Whipwreck, The New Day (Kofi Kingston, Xavier Woods & Big E), Enzo Amore & Colin Cassady, Stunning Steve Austin, Superstar Steve Austin, Rusev, American Bad Ass Undertaker, Baron Corbin, Brian Pillman, Jey Uso, Jimmy Uso, Konnor, Viktor, Mark Henry, Ministry Undertaker, Ricky Steamboat, Savio Vega, Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley, Sting ’99, Sting Blonde and finally the two Terminator renders.
The new names show how in-depth the Stone Cold mode will be. It looks like we’re going to be travelling right through his days as a Hollywood Blonde with Brian Pillman and that feud with Ricky Steamboat, stopping off for a cup of coffee in Ecw to feud with Mikey Whipwreck (and maybe Sandman?), and then going through his main run in WWE, including the 2001 Royal Rumble.

The latest video from 2K Dev shows former European Champion D’Lo Brown hitting his signature Frog Splash, the Lo Down, on Billy Gunn in WWE 2K16.
There are three main things to take away from the short clip. First and foremost is the utter beauty of the splash. It’s pitch perfect and maybe even better than the real life version of Brown did it back in the day, and he did it very, very well.
The second thing was Billy’s attire. This seems to be the 2001’s ‘The One’ Billy Gunn with darker hair and plain tights, as opposed to the Badd Ass version we saw dominate the tag team scene in the company with Road Dogg. Everyone wanted to see the latter, right?
The third thing to notice is the lack of D’Lo’s head wobble? What a tease. Surely this is the sort...

Music has been integral in WWE history, especially anthems for all the greatest WWE Superstars. Since Sgt. Slaughter first made his entrance to the Marine Corp hymn in the early 80s, music themes have become synonymous with the WWE Superstars – who doesn’t remember Hulk Hogan’s “Real American” theme? Or the Ultimate Warrior’s high-energy entrance music? Even years after the stars retire, the songs live on.
Just hearing the first few notes brings the crowd to their feet. They are the songs that let the WWE Universe know that business truly is about to pick up. Now, this new DVD gets fans behind the music to learn the inside story behind the timeless anthems of WWE and its Superstars.
Featuring interviews with the man behind the music, Jim Johnston, who composes all WWE music - Signature Sounds: The Music of WWE counts down the 25 most memorable tracks from the WWE’s history.

As the ‘Road Dogg’ Jesse James, the one-time Brian Armstrong carved a legacy for himself in WWE history. The man’s real name is actually Brian James, but he’s part of the well-known Armstrong wrestling family. His father, Bob wrestled with the surname, so all 4 of his sons, Brian, Brad, Steve and Scott took on the moniker also. It wasn’t until Road Dogg had been in the industry for over a decade that he got his first major run.
Making his then-wwf debut in 1994 as ‘The Roadie’, the man worked alongside Jeff Jarrett. Acting largely as a manager, he was something also allowed to show what he could do inside the ring. That said, it would be another few years before the Road Dogg character was created. That particular persona gave the wrestler more stature, and he became part of D-Generation X.

A new video posted by IGN has apparently revealed the (almost) full roster for WWE 2K16.
It is common knowledge now that the new game will have a bumper roster of 120 unique characters, but the list below falls a few short of that while Hulk Hogan is still a part of it. The Hulkster has been removed from the game altogether for reasons that you don’t need me to tell you about.
There are a number of shocking inclusions, including Superstars down the pecking order in Nxt and Attitude Era stars who had very little to do with cover star Stone Cold Steve Austin. While there are also a number of notable exclusions, including the Legion of Doom, who seemed to be nailed on for a place in the new title after leaked video footage appeared to show Jerry ‘The King’ Lawler and Jim Ross recording commentary...

WWE released a video this week of Tough Enough trainer Billy Gunn yelling at one of the contestants for about two minutes and thirty seconds. The contestant he yelled at was the 18 year old Zamariah “Zz” Loupe, who has been able to avoid eliminations week after week due to his strong personality, even though physically he’s not in the kind of shape that WWE wants their superstars to be in.
According to F4Wonline, the clip was released publicly because WWE officials want Zz gone from the show after this week. Dave Meltzer claimed WWE set things up for Zz to be gone last week, but fans weren’t manipulated the way they expected, so Zz wasn’t eliminated.
During last week’s elimination, Zz got the most votes to stay while Mada went home even though he was one of the best guys on the show.

WWE Tough Enough is currently in its fifth season, airing each Tuesday night on the USA Network. The show is a mix of pre-taped footage from the previous week, and a live elimination ceremony similar to American Idol. Contestants live at the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Fl, and go through weekly challenges outside of the center while learning the basics of wrestling in the center. Their trainers are Billy Gunn, Lita and Booker T. They are then judged by the live panel of judges, consisting of Daniel Bryan and Paige. Hulk Hogan was originally the third judge, but after the racism scandal, he was replaced by The Miz, although it’s unclear whether it’s a permanent replacement or not. The judges each pick one contestant to be eligible to be eliminated (each judge has a save per season), and the viewers vote on who they want to stay.
