Founded the Chicago Black Ensemble (later called the Black Ensemble Theater) in 1976 and as of this writing (2007) is still running it. The theatre is located in the Uptown neighborhood on Beacon St., on which the city bestowed the honorific name Jackie Taylor St.
(1984) She acted in the Lorraine Hansberry's play, "A Raisin in the Sun," at the Goodman Theatre in Chicago, Illinois, with Melva Williams.
(1995) She and Jimmy Tillman's play, "Doo Wop Shoo Bop," was performed at the Black Ensemble Theater in Chicago, Illinois. Tillman was musical director. John Steven Crowley was in the cast.
(1996) She directed the musical revue, "Great Women of Gospel," at the Black Ensemble Theater in Chicago, Illinois. Jimmy Tillman was musical director.
