In the middle of all the drama and intense suicidal issues that make up The Skeleton Twins, Bill Hader’s Milo breaks into song, but it is not Hader’s voice ringing out, it is Starship’s Mickey Thomas explaining that “Nothing’s Gonna Stop Us Now.” It’s an excellent moment, delivering a greater impact than it would have had the song simply played over the scene. What a sad news day it is today. We first wrote about the sad passing of Michael Clarke Duncan, and we have another R.I.P. post to follow. Mark Abrahamian, guitarist for the band Starship featuring Mickey Thomas, died after performing at a concert in Norfolk, Nebraska. He passed away on Sunday and his bandmates announced the news on Twitter, yesterday, in a message that read, “We are shocked and saddened at the sudden loss of our guitar player, Mark Abrahamian. We will miss you, brother. Guitarist Mark Abrahamian, who performed with Starship featuring Mickey Thomas, is dead at age 46, the band announced on Monday. He reportedly died due to a heart attack following a performance on September 2.
"We are shocked and saddened at the sudden loss of our guitar player Mark Abrahamian. We will miss you, brother. Rest in peace, Mark," the band posted on its Twitter account.
Abrahamian had played with the longtime band, whose hits include “We Built This City” and “Nothing’s Gonna Stop Us Now,” since 2000. In addition to Twitter, the band also took to Facebook to mourn their friend.
