- Florence Welch Wagner began her career as a newspaperwoman in Topeka, Kansas. She moved to Los Angeles during the early part of the century and taught high school. She married Rob Wagner, a portrait painter and writer, in 1914. When Wagner founded Rob Wagner's Script in 1929, she became the magazine's business manager and a columnist.
