It’s been a long time coming. Last year, we launched a contest that would see the short script of readers like you produced into an anthology short that would be a part of something much bigger. That project is called Dark/Web. It's not just an anthology, though. It's a serialized show with anthological aspects woven throughout.
The synopsis of the digital series is as follows:
"When Ethan (Elerding), Sam (McKissack) and James (Nardelli) find themselves the target of cryptic emails from someone posing as their childhood friend Molly (Gonzales), they assume she’s been the victim of an all-too-common hack. After they reach out to alert her, however, they discover that Molly’s been missing for months and no one has any idea what happened to her. As the emails keep coming, each containing a tale written by Molly, her friends realize that this may be more than just a sick joke.

Lrm has exclusively learned that as of Wednesday, January 26, the production on the Dark/Web anthology episode “Hacked” has officially begun! Those of you following the progress of the upcoming digital series Dark/Web may recognize the episode title, which was written by one of our readers, Christopher Webster, whose script won over the producers of Dark/Web, and made its way into the actual show.
Dark/Web is a unique hybrid of serialized and anthological storytelling. It contains and overarching narrative, but within each of the episodes is a separate, standalone anthology that somehow plays into the main plot of the story. Webster’s own script will be one of those standalone pieces. Each episode of Dark/Web explores themes related to the internet and the dangers present in the murky, unexplained layers of the web. Paranoia, isolation, vanity, loss of identity, the viral nature of ideas and social...

Last week, you had your first behind-the-scenes glimpse at what to expect in Lrm’s exclusive digital series, Dark/Web. As promised, that was only the beginning of the ongoing coverage you’ll be getting of the horror anthology, and we have some cool stuff to show you today.
But first, in case this is your first time hearing about Dark/Web, the upcoming reveal may make more sense if we explain what Dark/Web is exactly.
Dark/Web is a digital series that will be released on Lrm early next year. However, it won’t just be your average ordinary series. It’s something of a blend between an anthology and serialized tale.
A portion of a serialized tale that continues week after week.A stand-alone horror/sci-fi short, presented in the form of stories that Molly left behind; each written and directed by a different filmmaker.
If you had to make a comparison,...

Last June, we here at Lrm announced our partnership with the creators of the cult hit film Circle to bring the 8-episode Dark/Web horror anthology digital series to the small screen. With that announcement, we launched a contest that would incorporate a short script from one of our readers into an episode of the series, and a couple weeks back, we announced that winner to be Christopher Webster with his killer script, “Hacked.”

Production has been underway for some time now, and we’re proud to announce that the filmmakers have finished shooting the serialized “wraparound” portion of the series, and the filmmakers will now commence production on six anthology segments that make up Dark/Web’s unique hybrid narrative structure.

Greetings Lrm faithful!
I know it’s been awhile since we first announced the screenplay contest for the upcoming webseries Dark/Web, but rest assured, it was no easy task to narrow down the stellar screenplays you all sent in, but of course, we had to make a decision.
Lrm and the architects of last year’s cult hit Circle are proud to present the screenplay contest winner (drumroll, please):

.
Christopher Webster!!
As we mentioned above, there were a lot of contenders here, but Webster eventually won us over with his deftly-written script, “Hacked.”
The logline for the heart-pounding winning entry is as follows:
“When a chance encounter with a pop star brings seventeen-year-old Misty Hansen instant online fame, she thinks her dreams have come true. But after a series of pranks puts her life in danger, Misty discovers that getting noticed online can be a total nightmare, and...

Yesterday, we shared with you that we are very close to announcing the winner of our Dark-web Call-for-Submission. The response has been outstanding and the quality and talent of all the participating writers has made it very difficult to select a winning script! Today, we want to give credit to the semi-finalist. One of these very talented writers will have the chance to work with the producers and creators of the hit movie Circle and will have their winning script produced and seen my millions of Lrm readers. As previously announced, these semi-finalist will receive a copy of the newly released DVD for the hit movie Circle signed by some of the cast and crew from the film. Disclaimer: These films are in no particular order and aren't all films I like. I wrote this post to be a companion piece to Kurt Halfyard's wonderful Brave New Worldview – 30 Science Fiction Films of the 21st Century posted over at Row Three, so read this and then piece it together with his and we think you'll have a pretty comprehensive list of important genre stuff from the new millennium to catch up with.
Here's the thing; we love the post apocalypse around here. No foolin'. For those of you just tuning in, Quiet Earth started life as a site dedicated to the genre. And while we cover the whole gamut of weird and wonderful genre film from around the globe now, we still like to think of ourselves as the go-to-guys on the subject. From Panic in the Year Zero, to Planet of the Apes, to The Postman, we've seen...
