- First wed to Claudia Barrett in the early 1950s, he married Barbara Lang in 1956 in Ensenada, Mexico. He met her when she was a co-star with him on "Death Valley Days" (1955)_. The couple was estranged by March of 1957 and their marriage annulled in 1958 when Lang claimed that Welles' divorce from Barrett was finalized ten months after the date of their own wedding.
- Died in a nursing home in Reno, Nevada after a long illness on June 14, 2008. He was 82.
