CBS did not air a new season of The Amazing Race during the spring of 2023, leaving fans wondering when the next race would premiere. Unfortunately, there is no news regarding the premiere date of season 35. All we can do is speculate about the upcoming competition, including whether or not it will feature returning teams.

The most recent season that contained returning teams was The Amazing Race 31, aka The Amazing Race: Reality Showdown. It premiered in 2018 and featured duos from the three CBS reality competition shows — Big Brother, Survivor, and The Amazing Race.

Throughout The Amazing Race‘s 34 seasons, there have been plenty of memorable teams. From Uchenna and Joyce Agu to Leo Temory and Jamal Zadran, there has been a wide variety of relationships and dynamics in the show. But one of the most unforgettable pairs comes from The Amazing Race 5 — Colin Guinn and Christie Woods.

The Amazing Race 5 introduced fans to Colin Guinn and Christie Woods, a dating couple from Texas. Colin, 24 years old, was a cell phone store owner, and Christie, 26 years old, was a pharmaceutical sales representative. They met at the University of Texas in Austin and had been dating for over a year when they filmed season 5.

After two cruel fourth-place finishes on Seasons 20 and 24, the Afghanimals, Leo Temory and Jamal Zadran, finally ended their Leg 11 curse on Wednesday’s finale of “The Amazing Race 31” by not only making the final three but winning Leg 11. But then the good times quickly stopped. Upon landing in Detroit, they got an early lead, but then Leo got stumped on the Roadblock — not exactly unlike how he struggled with the Leg 11 Roadblock in Season 23. Having never used a combination lock before, he spent so long at the bank vault that Colin Guinn and Tyler Oakley both passed him on what looked like their first attempts. From then on, it was a two-team battle between Colin and Christie Woods, who won, and Tyler and Korey Kuhl. So you can say they were locked out of first place (#sorrynotsorry).
So what exactly was Leo doing with the lock (or not doing)? How far behind were they?...

It was anyone’s game on Wednesday’s season finale of “The Amazing Race 31” — or well, just Colin Guinn and Christie Woods‘, and Tyler Oakley and Korey Kuhl‘s. After passing Leo Temory and Jamal Zadran at the Roadblock, the two teams kept swapping positions and were neck and neck at the final task, assembling a drum set. Each had an error, but it was Colin and Christie who fixed theirs first and cruised to the $1 million. And we do mean “cruised” in that the spread was not as close as the edit made it out to be, according to Tyler and Korey.
The BFFs did improve on their third-place finish in Season 28, but is that worse than almost tasting the $1 million. See what they say in our exit interview below.

Colin Guinn and Christie Woods were one of the best teams to never win “The Amazing Race.” They were also one of the most, uh, intense teams ever back in Season 5, where they ultimately came in second after winning a then-record six legs that season. But now they’ve shed both those titles. After trading the lead back and forth with Tyler Oakley and Korey Kuhl on Wednesday’s Season 31 finale, they took a moment, figured out what was wrong with their drum kit and crossed the finish line first, 15 years and zero “My ox is broken!”-esque meltdowns later. Zen Colin and Christie, who’ve gone from snipping at each other on the show in 2004 to now sharing life and relationship advice, are a far cry from their former hotheaded selves. And that, they say, is why they wanted return to the “Race” in the first place, older and wiser.

Colin Guinn and Christie Woods didn’t just win the $1 million on Wednesday’s finale of “The Amazing Race 31,” but they tied three records to boot. The couple now has the most career leg wins at nine, the most career top three finishes at 20 and is one of three teams to complete the “Race” course twice.
Colin and Christie’s first place in the final leg locked them with runners-up Tyler Oakley and Korey Kuhl, who achieved nine career wins with their fourth consecutive top placement in Leg 9 to go with their five in Season 28. They beat the career record previously held by Rachel and Dave Brown, who more impressively won eight legs in a single season (still a record) on Season 20 versus taking two seasons to do so like Colin and Christie, and Tyler and Korey.

Hey, "Amazing Race" fans. Tonight, June 26, 2019, the huge season 31, 2-hour finale episode did indeed air. It kicked off with the final four teams learning they had to make their way to London, England to retrieve their first clue for this leg of the race. Victor ignored Leo and Jamal because he was still heated that they u-turned he and Nicole in the last leg of the race. Once the teams arrived in London, they had to catch a taxi to the Gatwick Aviation Museum to get their next clue. Once the teams got to the museum, they had to take a helicopter ride to Dover Castle to get their next clue. Leo and Jamal were the first team to make it to Dover Castle. Once they arrived, they learned they had to complete a Roadblock challenge. During this Roadblock challenge, one team member had to solve a secret code after...

The double episode will cover Legs 11 and 12. The fourth place team will be eliminated at the end of the first hour, which takes place in London and includes a helicopter ride to Dover Castle. If you’ve watched the preview closely or just read our totally accurate analysis, you’ll know who finished in fourth place. The final leg takes place in Detroit, where racers will have to rappel down the city’s famed Guardian Building.

The two-hour finale of “The Amazing Race” airs tonight (June 26) on CBS. Four teams are fighting it out to be first to the final mat and claim the one million prize. They are, in order of their finish on leg 10: Colin Guinn and Christie Woods, Tyler Oakley and Korey Kuhl, Leo Temory and Jamal Zadran, and Nicole Franzel and Victor Arroyo. The first three teams are “Tar” alums while Nicole and Victor came to fame on “Big Brother.” Spoilers ahead.
One of this foursome will be eliminated in leg 11, which took place in London. And one of the remaining three teams triumphed 24 hours later in Detroit. We know from the preview trailer that Nicole and Victor do not number among the final three. The irony is that Nicole is from Ubly, Michigan which is 100 miles north of the Motor City. Small consolation but Nicole and Victor did the best...

It’s been all-“Race” teams all the time on “The Amazing Race,” and you really hope that doesn’t continue in the two-hour finale. In a recent poll, 77 percent of our readers are rooting for Nicole Franzel and Victor Arroyo, the final non-“Race” team left, to prevent an all-“Race” final three.
Nic and Vic are up against the three remaining “Race” teams: Colin Guinn and Christie Woods, Tyler Oakley and Korey Kuhl, and Leo Temory and Jamal Zadran. In the preview after last week’s episode, Korey says he and Tyler would love to have an all-“Race” final three, and Nicole later says that the “Race” teams are working together without her and Victor. And really, you can’t blame the “Race” teams for working together and they probably wouldn’t be upset if an all-“Race” final three didn’t come to fruition.

Wednesday’s two-hour finale of “The Amazing Race 31” will cut the fourth-place team at the end of the first hour, and if you watch the new preview above very carefully, you can figure out who the final three teams are.
This is the danger of “Race’s” two-hour finales: The show has to edit together previews that highlight all the teams but are vague enough that don’t give away who doesn’t make the final three. But its own previews and press photos in the past have self-spoiled, and it’s happened again.
If you don’t want to know, get out of here. If you never wanted to know, what the hell are you even doing here?
So, first things first, the final four — Colin Guinn and Christie Woods, Tyler Oakley and Korey Kuhl, Leo Temory and Jamal Zadran, and Nicole Franzel and Victor Arroyo — will jet to London,...

Rachel Reilly‘s new record on “The Amazing Race” looks to be short-lived. The three-time “Race” alum became the most traveled racer when she completed her 32nd leg on Leg 8 of Season 31 in Switzerland. She and sister Elissa Slater got eliminated that leg, so she couldn’t extend it any further. That allowed the Afghanimals, Leo Temory and Jamal Zadran, to tie her record on Leg 10 on Wednesday’s episode in the Netherlands, which means they could beat her record next leg.
Given how much the show drummed up Rachel breaking the record, Wednesday’s episode made no mention of Leo and Jamal matching her feat. But to be fair, the Afghanimals did provide a lot of content on their own with their ineptitude steering and finding boats in that canal.
With two cruel fourth-place finishes in Seasons 23 and 24, the Afghanimals came into Season 31 with 22 legs under their belt. Since there are two legs left,...

We’re almost there. After Colin Guinn and Christie Woods continued the streak of “Amazing Race” wins winning legs on Wednesday’s episode, we are one week and one elimination away from a final three of “Race” teams.
The only non-“Race” team left is Nicole Franzel and Victor Arroyo, who edged out Team Fun, Becca Droz and Floyd Pierce, on Leg 10 after both were victims of the Double U-Turn. Tyler Oakley and Korey Kuhl, and the Afghanimals, Leo Temory and Jamal Zadran, round out the final four.

Well, it happened. We’ve finally found a physical activity that Colin Guinn and Christie Woods haven’t done yet: riding a tandem bike. That’s one of the tasks on Wednesday’s episode of “The Amazing Race.”
“Today was our first time to ever ride a tandem bike. It’s like you go to steer and the bike doesn’t turn,” Colin says in a sneak peek of Leg 10 (watch above). “It’s like driving a barge.”
Christie is shown to be struggling hopping onto the second seat, but we’re sure these two friggin’ comp beasts got the hang of it at a certain point. And it’s not like anyone else is having an easier time. The Afghanimals, Leo Temory and Jamal Zadran, nearly fall over, while Tyler Oakley and Korey Kuhl eventually figure out a hack. “The rhythm that we finally got into was pedaling and Tyler not pedaling,...

It all started so well for Chris Hammons and Bret Labelle on Wednesday’s episode of “The Amazing Race.” They were on the first flight to Split, Croatia, with Tyler Oakley and Korey Kuhl, and they were in first place when they arrived at the Detour. And then it all went downhill. After struggling with the snorkeling-for-coins Detour in the Adriatic Sea, they decided to switch to the memorize-a-poem-while-tubing one, but after one attempt there, they went back to the coins. After another endless futile go, they switched back to the poem, which took them 10 tries to complete. They ostensibly had a chance to catch up when Colin Guinn and Christie Woods forgot their gnome, but the couple retrieved it before Team Bromance could recite their poem.
Needless to say, the “Survivor” BFFs know they shouldn’t have switched so many times, but they think their biggest gaffe was something they didn’t do earlier.

We can definitively say Team Fun did not cut in line on ‘The Amazing Race,’ and this ruling is final
Airport drama returned on Wednesday’s episode of “The Amazing Race” thanks to a major flight delay and accusations of cutting. Team Fun, Becca Droz and Floyd Pierce, appeared to have cut in front of Nicole Franzel and Victor Arroyo to get tickets from Zurich to Split, Croatia. The sneak peek didn’t offer any definitive evidence since it started with Team Fun already at their ticket agent, but now that the episode has aired, we can conclusively declare that Team Fun did not, in fact, cut in line.
I know. This is such a serious issue we needed to investigate, but stay with me here. The entire sequence, as shown in the episode, is as follows: Team Fun, Vicole, and Colin Guinn and Christie Woods head to one counter. As Colin and Christie are getting their tickets, Team Fun and Vicole walk over to another counter where the Afghanimals,...

For its 31st trek, “The Amazing Race” fulfilled the request of many fans who’d been clamoring for years for a showdown between alums of CBS’ holy trinity of reality shows, “Race,” “Survivor” and “Big Brother.” But Phil Keoghan admits he wasn’t always on board with the idea. “I was a little skeptical about it, to be honest with you, in the beginning because I’ve always had a preference for ‘Races’ that have people that have never been on the show before,” the host tells Gold Derby in an exclusive video interview (watch above). “And we do have a big portion of our fans who prefer that approach with ‘Race.’ They like racers who have never been on the show. But you’re never going to make everybody happy. You’re never going to get a total consensus.”

After back-to-back weeks of U-Turn drama on “The Amazing Race,” Leg 9 is here to give us airport drama!
The remaining six teams are off to Split, Croatia, on Wednesday’s episode, but first, they have to buy tickets. And in a throwback to the early seasons of the show, this doesn’t come easily. And then there’s the fact that Team Fun, Becca Droz and Floyd Pierce, may or may not have cut in front of Nicole Franzel and Victor Arroyo in line. The sneak peek doesn’t show the alleged cutting, but Vicole can’t get the early flight they want. Don’t worry, though, because the early flight, carrying multiple teams, actually gets delayed. This is the drama we are here for.

We had some issues with the U-Turn Vote on “The Amazing Race,” and it turns out you did as well. About 47 percent of our readers said they don’t mind the new twist, but they wish the vote wasn’t done verbally. Amen.
Like we already pointed out, the verbal vote in last week’s episode screwed over Rachel Reilly and Elissa Slater, who had to go first after a pre-determined random draw. They voted for Colin Guinn and Christie Woods, who kept things even by voting for the Reillys. But would Colin and Christie have voted for the Reillys had they not gone first and picked them? Probably not. The Reillys were one of the weaker teams left.
That vote set up Chris Hammons and Bret Labelle, who had the final vote, to determine the second team that would be U-Turned in addition to Colin and Christie, who received three votes.

Could it be? Is airport drama finally back on “The Amazing Race”? Why, yes! Not gonna lie, I had to rewatch the sneak peek above twice just to make sure my eyes aren’t deceiving me. But Wednesday’s episode will have some flight predicaments before Leg 9 even starts for Nicole Franzel and Victor Arroyo.
Once a hallmark of the early seasons of “Race,” when teams had to scurry, haggle and fight tooth and nail to nab the best flight to their next destination, airport drama has all but vanished in recent seasons (or at the very least hasn’t been shown), thanks to the show making sure teams are on the flights they need to be on.

“The Amazing Race” introduced the U-Turn Vote on Wednesday’s episode, giving us not one but two U-Turned teams after Colin Guinn and Christie Woods, and Rachel Reilly and Elissa Slater received the most votes. Ultimately, only Colin and Christie survived, coming in third, while the Reillys got eliminated. The U-Turn Vote certainly provided its share of drama, but like a lot of twists, it’s not perfect.
The U-Turn Vote is not new to the “Race” franchise, having been on multiple international versions, but the U.S. tweaked the twist by having the teams vote verbally based on a random draw. Rachel and Elissa went first, voting for Colin and Christie. Nicole Franzel and Victor Arroyo hemmed and hawed before he chose the Afghanimals, Leo Temory and Jamal Zadran, much to Nicole’s chagrin, who wanted him to do the Reillys but was totally wishy-washy about it. The U-Turn Vote is one thing nobody wants to win on “The Amazing Race,” but one unlucky team will on Wednesday’s episode. And if our readers had their druthers, that team would be Rachel Reilly and Elissa Slater, who dominated our poll with 74 percent of the vote.
This was expected since the Reillys are arguably the most divisive team left. And after the U-Turn drama with Nicole Franzel and Victor Arroyo last week — when they ostensibly tried to warn Nic and Vic that Team Fun wanted to U-Turn them only to have that backfire because Nic and Vic realized they just wanted them to target Team Fun — the Reillys haven’t completely endeared themselves to everyone.
The vote was such a blowout that no other team hit double digits. Next highest with 8 percent are the Afghanimals, Leo Temory and Jamal Zadran. They’re another “not everyone’s cup of tea” team,...

The eighth leg on “The Amazing Race 31” won’t only give us the first-ever U-Turn Vote, but we will have a cow, literally. That’s because one of the tasks involves leading a cow. Yup, you know what that means: “My ox is broken!”
Press photos for Wednesday’s episode reveal that racers have to walk a cow down a hill. It’s unclear if this is a Detour or a route marker task (the Roadblock is to be William Tell), but the two teams shown doing it are Rachel Reilly and Elissa Slater, and yes, Colin Guinn and Christie Woods. If it is a Detour, we hope Colin and Christie chose it because it involved a cow. For them. For us. We deserve this.

The “Big Brother” blowup between Rachel Reilly and Elissa Slater, and Nicole Franzel and Victor Arroyo on “The Amazing Race” is confusing as hell, but it’s very clear which sides fans are on. About 68 percent of our readers are Team Vicole.
The argument in last week’s episode stemmed from the Reilly sisters ostensibly trying to warn Nic and Vic that Team Fun, Becca Droz and Floyd Pierce, are planning to U-Turn them. But their ulterior motive was try to get Nic and Vic to target Team Fun and do the Reillys’ dirty work for them since their U-Turn on Leg 2 failed to get Team Fun out. Vicole knew something was up when the Reillys kept backtracking and were evasive with details about the conversation – which involved the Afghanimals and also identified Colin Guinn and Christie Woods as U-Turn targets.

The newest twist on “The Amazing Race” — the U-Turn Vote — will make its debut next week in the most democratic of locations, Switzerland. And this is one situation in which winning is actually losing. So which of the remaining seven teams do you want to “win” the vote?
As we previously explained, the U-Turn Vote is not new to the franchise itself; its long been a staple of the Israeli, Chinese, Australian and Filipino versions. The Israeli version introduced it on its second season in 2011. The U.S. version might tweak it, but it basically works as you’d expect: At the start of the leg, the teams each vote for who should be U-Turned. The team that receives the most votes will be U-Turned and has to complete both Detours.

So we were partially right. The “Big Brother” feud between Rachel Reilly and Elissa Slater, and Nicole Franzel and Victor Arroyo on Wednesday’s “The Amazing Race” involved a U-Turn, but not the U-Turn Vote (that’s next week — that Swiss flag don’t lie!). Instead, their argument was about… well, we don’t blame you if you have no idea. So let’s try to break this down.
It all started when the Reilly sisters ostensibly let bygones be bygones with Team Fun, Becca Droz and Floyd Pierce, whom they had U-Turned on Leg 2, over beers with the Afghanimals, Leo Temory and Jamal Zadran, before their flight to Zurich. Team Fun and the Afghanimals agreed that the top U-Turn targets going forward are Colin Guinn and Christie Woods, and Nicole and Victor, given their high finishes so far. Rachel and Elissa were not on board since they had formed...

It will be a clean sweep on “The Amazing Race” by “The Amazing Race,” according to our readers. All six legs on Season 31 have been won by former “Race” teams, and 47 percent of fans now believe racers will claim the rest of the legs.
So far, the Afghanimals, Leo Temory and Jamal Zadran, have won the first two legs; Team Fun, Becca Droz and Floyd Pierce, took Legs 3 and 5; Colin Guinn and Christie Woods prevailed on Leg 4, and Tyler Oakley and Korey Kuhl won Leg 6. You just can’t buy “Race” experience, ya know? They are also the only “Race” teams left, outnumbering the “Big Brother” and “Survivor” duos four to two to one. So we could definitely have an all-“Race” final three.
See Janelle and Britney (‘Amazing Race’ exit interview) on that Rolex blunder: ‘You just felt helpless’
But 43 percent of readers think a “Big Brother” team can snap that streak.

For the fifth and sixth times this season on “The Amazing Race,” a “Race” team has won both legs. Team Fun, Becca Droz and Floyd Pierce, scored their second first-place finish on Leg 5 after also taking Leg 3, while Tyler Oakley and Korey Kuhl came in first on Leg 6. Those follow Leo Temory and Jamal Zadran‘s twin wins on the first two legs, and Colin Guinn and Christie Woods‘ triumph on Leg 4. Yup, a non-“Race” team still hasn’t won a leg and we’re halfway through the season now. Can this “Race” domination continue or will someone break through?
Of course, it makes total sense that the “Race” alums have been doing well, especially in the early goings. This ain’t their first rodeo. But it is kind of hilarious and also perfect that they’ve still had a stranglehold on first place, as if to say, “This is my house!

Fifth time’s the charm? Only alums from “The Amazing Race” have won the first four legs of Season 31 so far, which makes sense since this ain’t their first rodeo like it is for the “Survivor” and “Big Brother” teams. That streak will end eventually and 78 percent of our readers believe it will be Nicole Franzel and Victor Arroyo who do it.
Team Vicole is by far the safest bet. The “Big Brother” couple has performed the best out of the non-“Race” teams, notching three straight second-place finishes after coming in sixth the first leg. Two of those silvers could’ve been golds: Nicole was tricked by the Afghanimals in the second leg, who told her she was going the wrong way, and she and Victor were neck and neck with Colin Guinn and Christie Woods heading to the Pit Stop on Leg 4, but actually went the wrong way this time.

Although its ratings have dropped over time, last year they increased, and now The Amazing Race TV show is back for a 31st season on CBS. This cycle even has a new twist. The contestants are all from past seasons of the Tiffany Network's reality series. In addition to Tar, there are also competitors from Big Brother and Survivor. Will this old home week (season) bring back even more viewers? Will The Amazing Race be cancelled or renewed for season 32? Stay tuned. **Status update below.

Four weeks into “The Amazing Race 31,” the only teams to have won legs are, well, “Race” alums. The Afghanimals, Leo Temory and Jamal Zadran, won the first two, followed by Team Fun, Becca Droz and Floyd Pierce, who dominated Leg 3, and Season 5 runners-up Colin Guinn and Christie Woods recovered from a Detour flub to take Leg 4 on Wednesday. It’s no surprise that the “Race” veterans are ruling the course right now, but which non-“Race” team — there’s one “Survivor” duo left, while all three “Big Brother” ones are still around — will be the one to end this streak?
The obvious answer is Nicole Franzel and Victor Arroyo. As Phil Keoghan noted in Wednesday’s episode, the “Big Brother” lovebirds have performed the best out of all the “Survivor” and “Big Brother” teams, finishing sixth, second, second and second. This will chart high on the Fun-o-Meter. In a recent poll, 28 percent of our readers believe that Team Fun, Becca Droz and Floyd Pierce, have been the most impressive team on “The Amazing Race 31” so far, which is already a quarter-way done.
Now it could just be recency bias here since Team Fun came out on top last week, crushing both performance-based tasks, dancing and karaoke-ing, which seemed made for them. Their average placement would probably be higher if they hadn’t been U-Turned on the second leg, making them hit the mat in ninth place, following their fifth-place finish in Leg 1. But to go from last to first is nothing to sneeze at.
In second with 24 percent of the vote are Nicole Franzel and Victor Arroyo. The “Big Brother” couple has done the best out of the “Survivor” and “Big Brother” racers, nabbing back-to-back second place finishes to go...

“The Amazing Race” is taking a detour into the water this week. Because that’s what the Detour options are.
New press photos for Leg 4, which again takes place in Ho Chi Minh City, reveal the Detour choices for the remaining nine teams — and who picked what. The options are to row a traditional Vietnamese basket boat to pick up items (the next clue?) or to build a water wheel. And just like the past two weeks, one of these was definitely the more popular choice.
Seven teams opted for the boat: Janelle Pierzina and Britney Haynes; Chris Hammons and Bret Labelle; Tyler Oakley and Korey Kuhl; Corinne Kaplan and Eliza Orlins; Becca Droz and Floyd Pierce; Colin Guinn and Christie Woods; and Nicole Franzel and Victory Arroyo.

Slow and steady wins the race, or at least the Roadblock on Wednesday’s episode of “The Amazing Race.”
Leg 4, a second leg in Ho Chi Minh City, features a scooter Roadblock in which racers have to complete a test course. The course, naturally, isn’t just a racetrack or anything, but small circles and figure eights with arrows specifying which direction to go in. Sounds simple enough, but of course it’s not.
A sneak peek shows two racers tackling the course, Jamal Zadran and Elissa Slater. “It looks really hard, but luckily I have major balance,” Elissa says. Famous last words. She immediately goes out of bounds. Jamal doesn’t have any easier a time doing it, spinning off axis and putting his foot down, automatically disqualifying that attempt. We know he has at least four unsuccessful attempts and Elissa, five.

We’re three legs into “The Amazing Race 31,” which has already dismissed a “Race” team and a “Survivor” team, and has given us the first non-elimination leg of the season. A quarter of the season is now over, so who has been the best racers so far?
At first blush, it might feel like the Afghanimals, Leo Temory and Jamal Zadran, since they won the first two legs. But then they ran a terrible third leg in Vietnam and barely scraped by in eighth place. They’ve also managed to fool everyone with their fake fights and wrong directions, so either everybody this season is gullible as hell or the Afghanimals deserve an Emmy.
The Afghanimals’ three-peat was thwarted by Becca Droz and Floyd Pierce. Team Fun ran a stellar leg in Vietnam, granted they were helped tremendously by the performing tasks that were right up their alley. Still, after...

If you noticed a tiny mark on Colin Guinn‘s forehead on Wednesday’s episode of “The Amazing Race,” that’s not a popped zit or an accidental scratch or anything. Nope, that’s a scar from a nail. Colin literally got nailed in the head on the show — and that did not make the episode.
As revealed by a deleted scene (watch above), an eight-inch nail landed square onto Colin’s forehead from a building undergoing construction as he and Christie Woods were walking around Laos before their flight to Vietnam. The result: A stream of blood running down his face.
“I was just walking along the sidewalk and got smoked by a nail in the head, so that can happen while you’re traveling,” he says. “We got tetanus before we came, I think.”

“The Amazing Race” is turning into Dancing with the Reality Stars. Wednesday’s episode takes the remaining nine teams to Vietnam, where one of the Detours involves performing a choreographed routine in light-up costumes. And their judge is the strictest judge this side of Len Goodman.
“We love music, dance challenges,” Floyd Pierce says in the sneak peek above with a level of confidence that tells you it won’t go easily. That’s because the stern judge’s favorite word is “no,” which he repeatedly bellows to the teams who think they’ve aced it.

In case you couldn’t tell from last week’s episode of “The Amazing Race” when they literally ran in the street to block a tuk tuk, Corinne Kaplan and Eliza Orlins are not fans of the Afghanimals, Leo Temory and Jamal Zadran. It’s unclear how this “feud” started — if you can even call it that — as all we got in the episode was Eliza saying the cousins weren’t helpful or nice. But a deleted talking head (watch above) reveals the true depth and source of the “Survivor” alums’ hostility toward them.
“The Afghanimals just remind me of the gen pop area of any crappy Las Vegas nightclub,” Corinne says. “They don’t have enough money for bottle service and they’re just milling around trying to get numbers. There’s something really skeevy about the two of them. And I can’t put my finger on it,...

We know what the Detour options are on the second leg of “The Amazing Race 31,” and now we know who did what — and when-ish.
The choices are to learn the Laotian alphabet or to cook a dish. As previously revealed, Corinne Kaplan and Eliza Orlins opted for the alphabet, while Rachel Reilly and Elissa Slater cooked. Corinne and Eliza also revealed that their fellow Survivors Chris Hammons and Bret Labelle cooked, quipping that Laotian sounds like Bret’s native Boston accent.
Well, cook was definitely the popular choice. Thanks to new photos released by CBS, we can see that eight of the 10 teams did cook. Now, yes, this leg has a Double U-Turn, but CBS, of course, isn’t dumb enough to release photos of the same team(s) doing both tasks if the U-Turns were used.

The season-long promo after the Season 31 premiere of “The Amazing Race” on Wednesday teased a new twist: the U-Turn Vote. But this is actually not a new twist at all — in terms of the “Amazing Race” franchise.
The U-Turn Vote has been used on four international versions of the show: Israeli, which first introduced it in its second season in 2011, Chinese, Australian and Filipino. How it works is exactly like it sounds: At the start of the leg, the remaining teams each vote for who should be U-Turned. The team that receives the most votes will be U-Turned and has to complete both Detours that leg. Simple enough.
See ‘The Amazing Race 31’ season premiere recap: Reality all-stars collide, but who’s the first to go?
It’s unclear if the American version will adapt this format completely or add its own little spin on it. Something tells us it might be the latter.

If Rupert and Laura Boneham forgot which show they were on, that would explain how they got lost for literally hours searching for the second Roadblock in Tokyo on “The Amazing Race 31” premiere — nevermind the fact that they were right next to the site and walked by it at least once.

Colin and Christie, is that you?
Fans of “The Amazing Race” who tuned into Wednesday’s Season 31 premiere expecting more angry, ruthless tactics and lots and lots of screaming from Colin Guinn and Christie Woods were in for a rude awakening. “The Amazing Race 31” cast includes five returning teams and one returning racer, and it’s no mystery as to who you’re cheering for: 33 percent of our readers are pulling for Art Velez and Jj Carrell to grab that $1 million.
The border patrol agents were runners-up on Season 20, an installment dominated by Rachel and Dave, who set the record for most leg wins in a season at eight. Art and Jj had a chance to upset the formidable duo when Davechel accidentally skipped the Roadblock, but Art struggled so much at the Roadblock that Davechel were able to return, complete the task and cruise to the finish line. It probably would’ve been easier to swallow had Davechel beat them outright. Art and Jj never finished lower than fourth, which will definitely be hard to duplicate this season.

Good things come to those who wait, and fans of “The Amazing Race” have been waiting a long time to see Colin Guinn and Christie Woods race again. They’ll finally do so in Season 31’s clash between “Race,” “Survivor” and “Big Brother” veterans — 15 years and 26 seasons after they finished second in Season 5 and truly changed all of our lives for the better. Because when you think of all-time “Race” teams, Colin and Christie come to mind. And when you think of Colin, you think of one thing and one thing only, aka the greatest “Race” moment ever. I’m talking about, of course, “My ox is broken!”
It’s honestly difficult to overstate how legendary this meltdown (watch above) and this season was to non-“Race” and newer “Race” fans. Season 5 was arguably the series’ best, and a large part of that was due to Colin and Christie, who...

The returning teams on “The Amazing Race 31” all have unfinished business, as none of them have won the $1 million prize before. Five of the 11 “Race,” “Survivor” or “Big Brother” teams this season are former racers, with another “Race” alum part of a “Big Brother” duo. But which returning racers do you want to cross the finish line first?
Art Velez and John James “Jj” Carrell
Art and Jj finished second on “The Amazing Race 20.” The border patrol agents had the misfortune of competing on the same season as “Race” GOATs Rachel and Dave, who set the record for most leg wins in a season at eight. Art and Jj blew their shot to win it all when Rachel and Dave accidentally skipped the final Roadblock, but Art struggled in the Roadblock, and they watched helplessly as Rachel and Dave returned, crushed the Roadblock and left them in the dust. While...

Season 31 of The Amazing Race will leave the starting line more than a month earlier than scheduled. CBS said today that the new iteration will premiere at 9 Pm Wednesday, April 17; it had been set for May 22. With that move, the network has banished LeBron James’ Million Dollar Mile from its Wednesday timeslot to Saturdays after just two episodes. CBS will air a repeat of NCIS in Million Dollar Mile’s timeslot next week.
Million Dollar Mile will air the remaining eight episodes of its 10-episode season on Saturdays beginning May 4, at 8 Pm with Ransom moving back an hour to 9 Pm.
The move comes after Million Dollar Mile premiered to soft ratings. It opened with a 1.0/4 rating and 4.1 million viewers in its debut episode, declining to 0.8/4 and 3.4 million viewers in week 2.
The network also released a sneak peek at the upcoming season, which comes with a twist: It will match teams...

“The Amazing Race” has a new start date. Season 31 will bow Wednesday, April 17 at 9/8c, a month earlier than its originally announced May 22 date, CBS announced Friday.
Leading out of “Survivor,” “The Amazing Race” is replacing the low-rated “Million Dollar Mile,” which is now moving to Saturdays at 8/7c, effective May 4.
As “Race” die-hards already know, Season 31, which filmed last summer, is a “reality showdown,” featuring alums from “Race,” “Survivor” and “Big Brother” competing for the $1 million prize. And yes, there are some legends of each game (Colin! Rupert! Janelle! Rachel!). (See the cast list below and check out the gallery above.) The season will cover more than 25,000 miles around the world.
